  • We study lightlike hypersurfaces M of an indefinite Kaehler manifold $\bar{M}$ of quasi-constant curvature subject to the condition that the curvature vector field of $\bar{M}$ belongs to the screen distribution S(TM). We provide several new results on such lightlike hypersurfaces M.

  • Recently, Chung and et al. ([11], 1991c) introduced a new concept of a manifold, denoted by *g-SE $X_{n}$ , in Einstein's n-dimensional *g-unified field theory. The manifold *g-SE $X_{n}$ is a generalized n-dimensional Riemannian manifold on which the differential geometric structure is imposed by the unified field tensor * $g^{λν}$ through the SE-connection which is both Einstein and semi-symmetric. In this paper, they proved a necessary and sufficient condition for the unique existence of SE-connection and presented a beautiful and surveyable tensorial representation of the SE-connection in terms of the tensor * $g^{λν}$. This paper is the first part of the following series of two papers: I. The SE-curvature tensor of *g-SE $X_{n}$ II. The contracted SE-curvature tensors of *g-SE $X_{n}$ In the present paper we investigate the properties of SE-curvature tensor of *g-SE $X_{n}$ , with main emphasis on the derivation of several useful generalized identities involving it. In our subsequent paper, we are concerned with contracted curvature tensors of *g-SE $X_{n}$ and several generalized identities involving them. In particular, we prove the first variation of the generalized Bianchi's identity in *g-SE $X_{n}$ , which has a great deal of useful physical applications.tions.

  • This paper aims to study the 𝒲-curvature tensor on relativistic space-times. The energy-momentum tensor T of a space-time having a semi-symmetric 𝒲-curvature tensor is semi-symmetric, whereas the whereas the energy-momentum tensor T of a space-time having a divergence free 𝒲-curvature tensor is of Codazzi type. A space-time having a traceless 𝒲-curvature tensor is Einstein. A 𝒲-curvature flat space-time is Einstein. Perfect fluid space-times which admits 𝒲-curvature tensor are considered.

  • In this paper, we study the geometry lightlike hypersurfaces (M, $g$, S(TM)) of a semi-Riemannian manifold ($\tilde{M}$, $\tilde{g}$) of quasi-constant curvature subject to the conditions: (1) The curvature vector field of $\tilde{M}$ is tangent to M, and (2) the screen distribution S(TM) is either totally geodesic in M or totally umbilical in $\tilde{M}$.

  • The warped product L$\times$$_{f}$ F of a line L and a Kaehler manifold F is a typical example of Kenmotsu manifold. In this paper we determine submanifolds of L$\times$$_{f}$ F which are tangent to the structure vector field and satisfy certain conditions concerning with Ricci curvature and mean curvature.ure.

  • In this article, using the example of C. Camci([7]) we reconfirm necessary sufficient condition for a slant curve. Next, we find some necessary and sufficient conditions for a slant curve in a Sasakian 3-manifold to have: (i) a $C$-parallel mean curvature vector field; (ii) a $C$-proper mean curvature vector field (in the normal bundle).

  • In a homogeneous and isotropic universe, the solution to the Einstein Field equation is the Friedmann-Robertson-Lemaître-Walker metric, which describes an expanding Universe with spatial curvature. The curvature has profound implications, in particular regarding the early universe. In this talk, I will review the state-of-the-arts constraints on the spatial curvature of the Universe using different cosmological observations. In particular, I will focus on model-independent tests using baryon acoustic oscillations and supernovae.

  • We develop an invariant local theory of Lorentz surfaces in pseudo-Euclidean 4-space by use of a linear map of Weingarten type. We find a geometrically determined moving frame field at each point of the surface and obtain a system of geometric functions. We prove a fundamental existence and uniqueness theorem in terms of these functions. On any Lorentz surface with parallel normalized mean curvature vector field we introduce special geometric (canonical) parameters and prove that any such surface is determined up to a rigid motion by three invariant functions satisfying three natural partial differential equations. In this way we minimize the number of functions and the number of partial differential equations determining the surface, which solves the Lund-Regge problem for this class of surfaces.

  • This work uses tensor calculus to derive a complete set of three-dimensional field equations well-suited for determining the behavior of thick shells of revolution having arbitrary curvature and variable thickness. The material is assumed to be homogeneous, isotropic and linearly elastic. The equations are expressed in terms of coordinates tangent and normal to the shell middle surface. The relationships are combined to yield equations of motion in terms of orthogonal displacement components taken in the meridional, normal and circumferential directions. Strain energy and kinetic energy functionals are also presented. The equations of motion and energy functionals may be used to determine the static or dynamic displacements and stresses in shells of revolution, including free and forced vibration and wave propagation.

  • It is a main object to find out the effect of curvature of pipe on the thermal flow field in copper pipe. the toroidal coordinate system is chosen for this project. 3-D numerical works are done by a commercial code, PHOENICS. The flow and temperature field are simulated and analysed on the view point of variation of pressure and temperature with Dean number. The results show that the strong recirculation phenomena and secondary flow are established and then a lot of pressure drop along main flow direction occurs at the curved portion of pipe and the temperature variation has a reversed trend of pressure variation along the axis of pipe.
