As the core component of transmission systems, converters are very prone to failure. To improve the accuracy of fault diagnosis for wind power converters, a fault feature extraction method combined with a wavelet transform and compressed sensing theory is proposed. In addition, an improved AdaBoost-SVM is used to diagnose wind power converters. The three-phase output current signal is selected as the research object and is processed by the wavelet transform to reduce the signal noise. The wavelet approximation coefficients are dimensionality reduced to obtain measurement signals based on the theory of compressive sensing. A sparse vector is obtained by the orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm, and then the fault feature vector is extracted. The fault feature vectors are input to the improved AdaBoost-SVM classifier to realize fault diagnosis. Simulation results show that this method can effectively realize the fault diagnosis of the power transistors in converters and improve the precision of fault diagnosis.
We proposed a novel method for object recognition using the Smart tag system in the previous research. We identified the object easily, but could not assure the object pose, because the threshold problem was not solved. So we propose a new method to solve this threshold problem. This method uses a smart tag to decide the threshold by recording color information of the image when the object feature is extracted. This method records the original of the object color information at the smart tag first. And then it records the object image information, the circumstance image information and the sensors information continuously when the object feature is extracted through the experiments. Finally, it estimates the current threshold by recorded information. This method can be applied the threshold to each objects. And it can solve the difficult threshold decision problem easily. To approve the possibility of our method, we implemented our approach by using easy and simple techniques as possible.
Waveform design method for inkjet printing has been proposed tv pressure wave measurement. The pressure wane inside the inkjet dispenser can be effectively measured by current measurement due to self-sensing capability of PZT. The pressure wave measured from current was verified by commercially availablelaser vibrometer. In order to obtain high speed inkjet droplets, two pulse waveform was designed such that the pressure wane after droplet formation can be minimized.
The transient nature and complex geometries of two-phase gas-liquid flows cause fundamental difficulties when measuring flow velocity using an electromagnetic flowmeter. Recently, a current-sensing flowmeter was introduced to obtain measurements with high temporal resolution (Ahn et al.). In this study, current-sensing flowmeter theory was applied to measure the fast velocity transients in slug flows. The velocity fields of axisymmetric gas-liquid slug flow in a vertical pipe were obtained using Volume-of-Fluid (VOF) method, and the virtual potential distributions for the electrodes of finite size were also computed using the finite volume method for simulating slug flow. The output signal prediction for slug flow was carried out from the velocity and virtual potential (or weight function) fields. The flowmeter was numerically calibrated to obtain the cross-sectional liquid mean velocity at an electrode plane from the predicted output signal. Two calibration parameters are proposed for this procedure: a flow pattern coefficient and a localization parameter. The flow pattern coefficient was defined by the ratio of the liquid resistance between the electrodes for two-phase flow with respect to that for single-phase flow, and the localization parameter was introduced to avoid errors in the flowmeter readings caused by liquid acceleration or deceleration around the electrodes. These parameters were also calculated from the computed velocity and virtual potential fields. The results can be used to obtain the liquid mean velocity from the slug flow signal measured by a current-sensing flowmeter.

Analysis method using remote sensing data is one of the effective ways to research a spatial and temporal variability of the mesoscale oceanic motions. During past several decades, many researchers have been getting comprehensive results using remote sensing data with application of data fusion methods in many parts of geo-science. For this study, we took the integration and fusion of several remote sensing data, which are different data resolution, timescale and characteristics, for improving accurate analysis of variation of the Kuroshio Extension. Furthermore, we might get advanced ways to understand the variability of the Kuroshio Extension, has close relation to the spatial and temporal variation of the Kuroshio and Oyashio Current.
