전국 치과대학, 치의학대학원의 치과마취과학 교육의 현황 (Current Status of Dental Anesthesiology Education in Korean Dental Colleges and Schools)

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the current state of dental anesthesiology education in Korea. Methods: We evaluated the curriculums of education, and class syllabus of subject which is related with dental anesthesiology education in 9 dental colleges and schools among total 11 in Korea. We investigated the subject name, numbers of teacher, lecture time, credit, and lecture content. Results: All the nine dental schools and colleges have dental anesthesiology in undergraduate education curriculum. The curriculum of dental anesthesiology was divided into two subjects (local anesthesia area and general anesthesia area) in 5 dental colleges and schools. The average credit was 1.78, and average lecture time was 30.5 hours/4 year (16-82 hours). Seven schools and colleges had lectures about dental sedation, and three had lectures about pain treatment in dental anesthesiology subject. But, there was only one school which had clinical practice curriculum in the Hospital. Conclusions: In Korean dental undergraduate education, dental anesthesiology was mostly conducted by lectures, and clinical teaching programs were not well organized.

Career Exploration for Customized Career Curriculum Design

  • This study aims to assess the current status of career education at C University and to gather foundational data for developing a step-by-step career education curriculum and an integrated roadmap for curriculum and extracurricular career education. This research involves a comparative analysis of C University's enrolled students and external university students through a survey using the [University Career Exploration Model]. Data collection took place over one month in October 2023, and statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS Statistics 25.0 program. The survey results enabled a comparative analysis of the career exploration processes and levels between enrolled students at C University and external university students. The proportion of enrolled students at C University responding positively to the career exploration process and level was high. Through this study, a better understanding of the career exploration processes and levels of university students was achieved. It is deemed necessary to conduct systematic research for continuous, tailored integration of curriculum and extracurricular career education at the university level.

일부 대학 치위생학과의 치과임상실무 관련 교육과정 운영현황 (Current status of dental hygiene curriculum related to clinical practice for dental hygienists in some universities)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the current status of dental hygiene curricula related to clinical practice in Korea. Methods: Clinical work included the categories 'history taking, infection control, oral prophylaxis, preventive treatment, education/counseling, radiography/reading, assisting/cooperation, impression/bite registration, anesthesia, etc.', and 66 works were finally selected based on the frequent tasks of dental hygienists. The subjects were made to answer nine questionnaires. Results: It was found that the theory and practice of the main works operated quite differently in lectures and practice in each school. All types of practice were applied to all schools in the case of 'scaling'. The evaluation of clinical practice was also found to be very different from school to school. Conclusions: For dental hygienists to establish expertise in clinical practice and promote quality improvement, it is necessary to develop a core curriculum focusing on clinical practice. The standardized curriculum should be improved to an efficient and competency-centered one defining clearly the role of dental hygienists considering the needs and importance of clinical practice.

교육과정을 고려한 초등학교 조경계획을 위한 조경 수종과 식재빈도에 관한 기초적 연구 (A basic Study on the species of plants and its frequency for the Landscaping in Elementary School in relation to the school curriculum)

  • School Landscape Planning in Korea recently due to the implementation of green building certification system as a whole outside of the school environment and create eco-friendly, but not has not been linked with the curriculum. The purpose of this study is linked to the curriculum that can be used actively in learning activities is to landscape the school. Considering curriculum for elementary landscape plan provides direction results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the elementary school years in Chapter 3, the type and number of species of plants and animals that appear in the textbooks examined the results of the analysis that appears to know what plants and animals were the most common. Second, seven schools in Gyeonggi Province in Chapter 4 investigated the status of the landscape. The current landscape of the school curriculum, whether in agreement with the results of this comparison indicate that much of a difference could be seen. Therefore, future elementary landscape plan in accordance with the finality of education curriculum will be developed to fit.

문헌정보학 교과과정에 대한 현황조사 및 인식조사 연구 (A Study on Status and Necessity of the Curriculum for the Department of Libraries and Information Sciences in Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 한국 문헌정보학의 교과과정 현황과 전공과목별 필요성에 대한 인식을 조사·분석함으로써 문헌정보학의 교육과정의 발전방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전국 문헌정보학과의 교육과정을 전수 조사하였고, 조사된 교과목을 기반으로 필수·선택과목에 대한 의견을 전체 문헌정보학과 교수들을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 문헌정보학 총 개설과목 수는 최근 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 필수과목과 기초과목의 비중이 축소되고 선택과목의 비중이 늘어난 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 정보학은 중요성과 비중이 지속적으로 증가하고 있으며 빅데이터 및 프로그램밍, 데이터 분석 등 새로운 과목의 신설 요구가 높은 것을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 도서관·정보센터 경영학은 전체 교과과정에서 차지하는 비중은 다소 감소하고 있었다. 하지만 여전히 기본 영역으로 중시되고 있으며, 세부과목의 증설·심화에 대한 필요성은 높게 인식되고 있었다. 넷째, 서지학은 점차 비중이 축소되는 것으로 조사되었다. 다섯째, 기록관리학은 전공필수 과목은 아니지만 선택과목으로서 비중이 증가하는 반면, 어학 과목은 필요성에 대한 인식이 거의 사라진 것으로 나타났다.

한국형 의료시스템과학 교육과정 구성 전략: 국내 의료시스템과학 교육 현황과 미국 의과대학 사례분석을 중심으로 (Strategies for Structuring Health Systems Science Curriculum in the Korean Medical Education: A Study Based on an Analysis of the Domestic Status of Health Systems Science Education and Case Studies of US Medical Schools )

  • Health systems science (HSS) is recognized as the third pillar of medical education. alongside basic and clinical sciences. Today's physicians must also be systems thinkers who are able to discern how social, economic, environmental, and technological forces influence clinical decision-making. This study aimed to propose strategies for structuring an HSS curriculum that is tailored to the Korean healthcare and medical education context. First, the authors of this study conducted a survey to identify the present curricular contents of HSS related education at Korean medical schools. Second, a needs assessment was performed to determine the necessity of HSS competencies, as well as the prerequisites for the seamless integration of HSS into the existing curriculum. Third, literature reviews on HSS education at 14 US medical schools and expert consultations was conducted. We would like to propose a set of strategic approaches, classified into two levels: comprehensive and partial restructuring of the current medical curriculum to incorporate HSS. The partial restructuring approach entails a gradual, incremental incorporation of HSS content, while maintaining the current curricular structure. In contrast, a complete overhaul of the curriculum may be ideal to build HSS as the third pillar of medical education, but its feasibility remains relatively limited. The partial reorganization approach, however, has the advantage of being highly feasible. Collaborative efforts between professors and students are imperative to collectively devise effective methods for the seamless integration of HSS into the existing curriculum.

국립부산과학관 전시물과 2015 개정 교육과정과의 연계성 분석 - 핵심역량과 3~6학년을 중심으로 - (Analysis of the Relation between Exhibitions in Busan National Science Museum and 2015 Revised Curriculum - Focusing on the Key Competencies and the 3rd-6th Grades -)

  • With the advent of the 4th industrial revolution, the educational innovation focusing on the key competencies is occurring in the whole world. In September 2015, the Ministry of Education suggested six key competencies such as self-management competency, knowledge/information processing competency, creative thinking competency, aesthetic sensibility competency, communication competency, and community competency for the 2015 revised national curriculum. Also, this era requires for diverse lessons like subject integrated/converged lesson and intramural/extramural education. Thus, the objective of this study is to research/analyze exhibitions of Busan National Science Museum as extramural educational institute and to relate between the 2015 revised curriculum and exhibitions of science museum. First, the exhibitions of permanent exhibition hall in Busan National Science Museum were researched/analyzed. It analyzed the current status, display type, and explained contents of exhibitions. Second, it analyzed the relations between contents of the exhibition and key competencies in the 2015 revised curriculum. Third, the 2015 revised curriculum for the 3rd and 6th grade related to the selected exhibition contents was analyzed. The analysis on the exhibition contents performed by this study would be helpful for follow-up researches connected to exhibitions of Busan National Science Museum.

국내 의과대학의 국제보건교육 현황과 요구분석 (What Are the Current Status and Educational Needs of Global Health Education in Medical Schools? A Nationwide Survey in Korea)

  • This study investigated the current status and educational needs of global health education (GHE) at medical schools in Korea. Among the 40 medical schools nationwide, 32 schools that agreed to participate in the study collected data through a survey in 2022, and the results were examined by frequency analysis and content analysis. In total, 87.5% of medical schools included global health-related graduation outcomes. In the curriculum, global health lessons within courses were present at 71.9% of medical schools. Regarding extracurricular activities, 66.7% and 63.0% of medical schools offered overseas clerkships and overseas volunteer work, respectively. Although there were not many medical schools with a global health-related educational environment, 96.9% of schools agreed with the necessity of GHE in medical education. The prevailing opinion was that it was appropriate to continuously cover GHE as lessons within courses throughout all years of the program in medical education. The main opinions regarding the improvement of GHE related to curriculum development, personnel expansion, and awareness improvement at medical schools. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for identifying the current status of GHE at Korean medical schools and specifying future directions of GHE.

국내 기초간호학 교육과정 운영 현황 및 교수자의 기초간호학 교과목에 대한 인식 (Current Biological Nursing Curriculum and Faculty Perceptions on Biological Nursing Subjects in South Korea)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the current status of the biological nursing curriculum and faculties' perceptions on biological nursing subjects in South Korea. Methods: Biological nursing subjects' titles and credits were searched through the nursing schools' website. Perceived adequacy of subjects' title and credit in each biological nursing subject and the degree of perceived importance and satisfaction of learning contents by subjects were collected from 30 professors of biological nursing subjects. Results: Many schools still use the titles of medical subjects for those of biological nursing subjects. The perceived importance and satisfaction of genetics-related learning contents, "nursing case study" or "project team presentation," were lower than other learning contents. Conclusion: Standardization of biological nursing subjects' titles and learning contents is needed.

해외 고등정보 표준교육과정 기반의 국내 대학 교육과정 비교분석 (A Comparative Analysis of domestic universities curriculum based on overseas higher Informatics standard curriculum)

  • 미국(CS2013)과 일본(J07-CS)은 고등교육의 수준에서 변화하는 사회를 반영하는 표준 정보교육과정을 구성하고 있다. 본 연구는 한국의 고등 정보교육과정 표준 구성에 대한 시사점을 제공하기 위해 미국의 표준교육과정 변화를 분석하고, 한국의 대학 교육과정 구성 현황 분석 및 내용 지식에 근거하여 과목을 구성하였다. 연구 진행 결과 미국의 고등 정보교육과정은 변화하는 컴퓨팅 환경을 반영하는 교육과정으로 진화하고 있었다. 국내 대학의 정보교육과정은 CS2013의 지식영역을 52% 정도만 포함하고 있었다. 본 연구는 일본의 교육과정 과목 구성방침에 근거하여 과목 구성의 예를 제시하였으며, 대학의 표준 정보 교육과정이 없는 상황에서 교육과정 구성을 위한 단초를 제공했다는 점에 의의를 두고 있다.
