  • This study is to analyze the structure of the networks of tourism marketing on Twitter, identifying the most prominent users, the flow of information about tourism marketing, and the interaction between the users posting tweets. This study employs NodeXL pro as a visualization software package for social network analysis. The number of vertices or nodes is 171, and the number of the unique edges or links is 128, but there are 101 edges with duplicates, so the total links are 229, which means that there are fewer Twitter accounts in the social network on tourism marketing, but they have a few close relationships by sharing information. The research can map the social network of communicators of tourism marketing using Twitter data. The network has a complicated pattern, including one independent network and some connected networks. Some mediators connect each network and can control the information flow of tourism marketing. More communicators are getting the information than the ones providing it, which means that there is likely to be the dependence of information among communicators that can cause an obstacle and distortion of the information flow system, especially in the independent network.

The proposed app categorizes sports facilities across the country into regional, sports, private and public sports facilities to support reservations and matching. The proposed app applied a matching system in which matching scores were given according to the preference of events, places, and users by user net matching algorithm. Users can enjoy sports as a team or individual through the suggestion app even if they do not have any clubs or friends to which they belong. It can be used to improve tourism content services and establish tourism industry policies by analyzing data generated while using a user matching system.

  • The present study investigates the realization of tourism culture welfare by using Confucian heritage. From June 13 to November 7, 2014, site surveys and interviews were conducted for hyanggo (hyanggo: Confucian temple and school to teach students in Joseon Dynasty period), seowon (seowon: a memorial hall for Confucianist services to honor distinguished scholars and statesmen) and nujung (nujung: outdoor pavilion or gazebo) located in Youngwol -gun. Questionnaire pertaining to site survey and in-depth interviews for the building owners and managers was used to collect necessary data and scientific investigation was performed for analysis. As a result, the historical background was found to be culturally valuable asset for both region's tourism and culture welfare. Secondly, hyanggyo and seowon were found to exhibit traditional Confucius cultural form, while nujung exhibited a rare architectural trait. Hence it seems necessary to develop a different social tourism resource specialized for nujung. Thirdly, the rendering of Confucius heritages to tourism culture welfare resources thus far seems to be insufficient; hence, development and operation of marketing programs will be necessary. The implications of the present study require succession and modern reinterpretation of Confucian heritages for further development into digital tourism that will encompass Confucian culture and today's culture. Furthermore, studies of the tourism culture welfare policies that will promote the co-existence with the region will be needed.

  • In this study, we introduce a multi-modal mixed reality (MR) application for advertising the main touristic landmarks on Jeju Island, and evaluate its effectiveness based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with a focus on the user's involvement in Korean culture (K-Culture). Specifically, we deployed several stimuli to enable users to retrieve information, visualize a variety of heritage content such as text, images, videos, virtual artifacts, and immerse in a VR environment to experience the heritage locations. The results of the online survey with 436 participants showed that for consumers with low K-Culture involvement, Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease-of-Use did not affect their Intention to Visit the island. Still, it had a significant impact on their Intention to Use the application. On the other hand, for the group with high K-Culture involvement, Perceived Usefulness had no effect on the Intention to Use and Intention to Visit. However, Perceived Ease-of-Use had a significant impact on their Intention to Use the application and Intention to Visit Jeju Island. Therefore, when user involvement in K-Culture is high, convenience of use has played a significant role in sensory media usage and the intention to visit, regardless of the usefulness of the mixed reality content. In contrast, users with low K-Culture involvement primarily focused on the functional aspects of the application. These findings open the path for follow-up studies on K-Culture involvement and immersive media tourism marketing, which will benefit digital tourism marketing and Korea's tourism industry.

  • This study proposes the methodology of analyzing the expected performance of the Integrated Computing Environment(ICE) on the assumption that the ICE of the agencies and the affiliated organizations under Ministry of Culture and Tourism is constructed and operated. The main objectives of the study are as follows : 1) deriving the performance criteria divided into the operational expected value and the strategic expected value of constructing and operating the ICE for Culture and Tourism informatization, 2) proposing the ways of extracting the detailed criteria for four performance areas(the degree of jnformatization efficiency, the degree of public service, the innovation and development of IS organization, the culture and tourism value creation) to evaluate the operational expected value based on the BSC(Balanced Scorecard) Perspective by using the CSF(Critical Success Factors) methodology, and 3) developing the detailed performance criteria and measures for the economic evaluation of the informatization efficiency from the TCO(Total Cost of Ownership) perspective and suggesting the practical evaluation method by applying them to the case of Culture and Tourism informatization.
