대학생의 시간사용 만족수준과 자아정체감 관계 (The Relationship between the Satisfaction of the Present and the Future Time Use and the Self-Identity of College Students)

  • The purpose of this study were to examine the time use of college students, and then to investigate the relationship between the satisfaction of the time use and the self identity. The subjects were 249 students in college. It was analyzed by using frequency, mean, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range analysis. The results were as follows: 1. College students were used to employ many obligate time including studying. Their peak time was 10 a.m., 6 p.m. or 10 p.m., and their slump time was from 7 a.m. to 9, or from noon to 2 p.m.. They enjoyed on weekend, and then tired on Monday. 2. College students were satisfied with the future time use than the present. In survey of self-identity inventory, they lacked confidence in their future, but they oriented their goal and were familiar with the social network. 3. The more college students satisfied time use, the more the level of self-identity was high. This, it was suggested the program of time management for college students.

The Impact of Creative Role Identity and Creative Self-Efficacy on Employee Creativity in the Hotel Business

  • The study aims to investigate the nexus of between role identity, self-efficacy, feeling of energy, and employee creativity in the hotel industry of Korea. The employees' innovative behaviors like creativity have been many researchers' interest for decades in the hotel industry. The hypotheses depicting the relationship among the variables have been proposed based on a review of existing literature. The number of 215 cases was used for final analysis and the results were explained through structural equation modeling. The results indicate the hotel employees' role identity and creative self-efficacy positively influenced their feeling of energy. Further, both role identity and creative self-efficacy make significant impact on employee creativity. Feeling of energy also makes a positively significant impact on employee creativity. Feeling of energy partially mediates the relationship between the two independent variables and employee creativity. As a result, creative role identity, self-efficacy, and feeling of energy explain the variance of the hotel employees' creativity. The results present that hotel practitioners need to regard their employees' creative roles and build organizational culture to support creative activities so as to enhance employee creativity. Finally, theoretical and practical implications for the hotel industry and future studies have been discussed.

The Impact of Green Corporate Identity and Green Personal-Social Identification on Green Business Performance: A Case Study in Thailand

  • This study aims to investigate the impact of green corporate identity and employees' green identification on green business performance of international automobile manufacturers in Thailand. It involves 400 employees from the target study area, using questionnaires to collect data from January to February 2021, with purposive and convenient sampling methods. Data analysis employed structural equation modeling (SEM). The results show that green corporate identity has a significant impact on employees' green personal-social identification and green business performance; meanwhile, employees' green social identification has a significant impact on green business performance. However, employees' green personal identification has a significant impact on green business performance only through employees' green social identification. Green corporate identity can increase the corporate' green business performance via economic, environmental and social aspects through employees' green personal-social identification. The findings suggest that green corporate communication through visual identity, employee behaviors, culture, policy products and services in response to environmental forces and drivers to create the green corporate identity is deemed to systematically work. Furthermore, the findings also suggest that employees' green identification on both personal and social levels can be a significant issue that the managers in automobile manufacturers should pay attention as well.

  • 우리나라의 방송물 중 미래의 주역인 어린이들을 위한 문화콘텐츠는 그다지 많지 않다. 경제적 개념으로 접근하여 공중파에서는 광고가 붙는 시청률 높은 프로그램에게 밀려 유아콘텐츠는 거의 없어진 것과 같다. 어린이 콘텐츠라는 문화를 단순히 경제적 논리로만 접근한다면 미래의 주역인 우리의 어린들의 정서적 정체성은 혼란에 빠질 것이다. 또한 이러한 현상이 계속된다면 언젠가 우리의 문화정체성은 몇몇 콘텐츠강국에 의해 잠식되어 미래 산업 중 하나인 문화산업의 성장은 기대하기 어려울 것이다. 실제 영국, 캐나다, 프랑스, 일본의 경우 많은 보호정책을 펼쳐왔으며 콘텐츠산업에 눈을 뜨기 시작하는 중국도 미래의 자신이 될 어린이를 위한 문화산업을 보호 육성하기 위하여 정부차원에서 정책을 시작하고 있는 상황이다. 우리나라는 영상콘텐츠가 미래 산업이라는 인식도 중요하지만 이전에 어린이 영상콘텐츠가 미래의 영상콘텐츠 산업의 초석이라는 점을 인지하여야 할 것이다.

Fashion Cultural Product Designs Using Artifacts Excavated from the Iksan Mireuksaji

  • The aim of this study is to develop fashion cultural product designs in order to promote the Iksan region by using motifs from the Mireuksaji, Iksan's most representative archeological site of Baekje culture. The fashion cultural products designs developed by applying cultural resources can be effective at enhancing our cultural identity. Adobe Illustrator CS4 and Adobe Photoshop CS4 were used to reconstruct motifs from the Sumakse tiles and the bronze horse figure in the Mireuksaji Museum. The Iksan brand slogan "Amazing Iksan" was combined with the bronze horse to emphasize the local cultural identity. The motifs from the Mireuksaji were modified and stylized to make different patterns and these patterns were repeated in various ways to be applied to necktie and scarf designs. The motifs for necktie designs were double-row chrysanthemum tiles and phoenix tiles, and the motifs for scarf designs were the double-row lotus tiles and the bronze horse artifacts. Different colorways were chosen and the value of each color was displayed in the CMYK percentages. As a result, eight necktie designs and twelve scarf designs were proposed. The motifs and patterns developed in this study can be used to introduce Iksan's distinct history as the birthplace of Baekje culture. It is also expected that the result of this study can advance the promotion of Korean traditional culture internationally.

A Study on the Use of Underwear as Outerwear

  • As foundation wear, underwear is the starting point where a woman shapes her figure and constructs a female identity. In the late twentieth century, the use of underwear as outerwear was extensively adapted, so underwear as outerwear is the latest thing today. Based on literature review, this study aimed to examine how underwear was adopted for use as outerwear extensively in the late twentieth century. The result of this study can be summarized as follows. First, originally there was no border between underwear and outerwear at the start. With the change of female social and political status, the function of underwear and its design has been changed diversely. Also, its revealing and decoration has been linked with female sexual attraction. Second, by some precursor fashion designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier, underwear was redefined as outerwear with erotic but powerful meaning in the Twentieth century. Their idea had an enormous influence on contemporary fashion culture, and consequently has become popularized like lingerie look today. Third, the change of female social status led a big change in view on the female sexuality and the ideas of femininity in fashion culture in the Twentieth century. Dressed by Gaultier, Madonna's performance wearing corset costume played a role in redefining contemporary femininity in relation to sexuality and power, even though it is still under the controversy.

Language Education Policy and English Textbooks of Korea and Japan

  • The aim of this study is to understand how English textbooks in Korea and Japan reflect English education policies for improving the English language learners' cultural ability. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, the method of analyzing English textbooks was used because English textbooks are an important tool that most specifically reflects the English policy of a country. This study analyzed a total of six English textbooks, three middle school English textbooks currently used in Korea and three in Japan. We analyzed nouns/pronouns related to culture presented in the reading section included in each unit, and compared cultural diversity and cultural identity included in English textbooks in Korea and Japan. As a result, it was found that both countries experienced cultural diversity through English education and introduced their cultural pride to Western culture to realize the goal of strengthening global capabilities. This textbook analysis results show that English textbooks of Korea and Japan depend on American/British cultures and norms. The cultural contents of English textbooks in Korea and Japan tend to focus on geography, food and drink, festivals and activities, family and education systems, etc. And English textbooks in Korea and Japan include the cultural sections in each lesson, but they don't suggest how to relate these cultural sections into the learners' real experiences. These results can be utilized as the motives from which both countries develop English education policy and textbooks in the future.

The characteristics of contemporary Indian fashion designs using traditional handicraft - Focusing on Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Manish Malhotra, and Ritu Kumar -

  • Traditional culture contributes to the diversification of modern fashion design and the inheritance of local cultural identity. This study aims to identify the characteristics of traditional handicrafts reflected in modern fashion design in India. For this purpose, it focused on Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Manish Malhotra, and Ritu Kumar, who are currently leading the Indian fashion design field. The methodology involved conducting literature research and analyzing case studies. In the literature, the techniques of Indian traditional crafts such as embroidery, dyeing, and weaving were examined and five design elements of traditional crafts were defined. Through content analysis of 30 images from the three designers' Instagram accounts, the design characteristics of traditional handicrafts expressed in contemporary Indian fashion design were derived: cultural inheritance using traditional Indian clothing items, traditional materials and practices applied to contemporary clothing, craftsmanship that artistically improves complex details using embroidery techniques, various combinations based on the traditional meaning of colors, and narrative expression using patterns containing India's cultural identity. Incorporating these traditional handicrafts into fashion design, closely linked to everyday life, aids in conveying and enhancing their significance. The cases demonstrate the successful integration of conservation into contemporary fashion design. This study sheds light on the application of traditional culture in modern fashion design.

한국판 동성애자/양성애자 다차원 정체성 척도 타당화 (Validation of the Korean Version of the Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Identity Scale)

  • 본 연구에서는 동성애자와 양성애자의 정체성을 다차원적으로 측정하기 위해 Mohr와 Kendra(2011)가 개발한 The Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Identity Scale(LGBIS)을 한국어로 번안하고 타당화하였다. 이를 위해, 한국어로 번역한 LGBIS를 201명의 동성애자와 양성애자에게 실시하여 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하였고, 그 결과, 요인 부하량이 낮은 한 문항을 삭제하고 8개 하위요인(26문항)으로 한국판 LGBIS를 구성하였다. 8개 하위요인은 원척도와 동일하게 수용걱정, 은닉 동기, 정체성 불확신, 내면화된 동성애 부정, 고된 과정, 정체성 우월, 정체성 긍정, 정체성 중심이었다. 또한, 한국판 LGBIS의 신뢰도를 살펴본 결과, '은닉 동기'를 제외한 모든 하위요인의 내적합치도는 만족스러운 것으로 확인되었다. 다음으로, 210명의 동성애자와 양성애자를 대상으로 확인적 요인분석을 통해 8요인 모형(26문항)이 양호한 적합도를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 한국판 LGBIS의 타당도 검증을 위해, 각 하위요인과 정체성 및 심리적 기능을 측정하는 척도간의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 한국판 LGBIS는 총 26문항, 8개 하위요인으로 구성된 척도로, 국내 동성애자와 양성자에게 사용하기에 타당한 것으로 확인되었다.

한국 다문화 사회에서 한반도 통일의 가치정립의 토대에 대한 연구 -문화 개념과 정서 개념의 다문화적 접근의 가능성을 중심으로 (The Study of the Foundation of Establishing the Value of the Unification of the Korean Peninsula in Muliticultural Society of Korea -focused on a possibility of the mulitucultural conception of culture and emotion)

  • 이번 연구는 한국 다문화 사회에서 한반도 통일의 가치토대를 어떻게 확립할 것인지를 탐구하는데 주요 목적이 있다. 이번 연구의 주제는 다문화 구성원들, 특히 북한 주민들과 새터민, 외국인 노동자, 국제결혼 이주자 및 그 자녀들이 과연 한번도 통일의 가치를 공유할 수 있는지, 즉 한민족 정체성과 그것의 가치분담이다. 이를 위해 이번 연구에서는 '문화 개념의 다문화 수준별 적용'에 관한 기존의 연구논문을 활용하고, 그 한계를 밝히며, 이를 보완할 수 있는 하나의 대안으로서 '정서(emotion)'의 다문화적 적용 가능성을 제시해보고자 한다. 기존의 문화 개념의 적용의 양상은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 문화 개념을 '의미의 패턴'으로 간주하는 경향으로서 주로 상징과 해석에 초점을 둔다. 이는 주로 타문화를 이해하는데 유용한 방식이라고 할 수 있다. 예컨대, 국제결혼 이주민이 초기 한국 사회의 정착시기에 한국 사회를 이해하는 방식이라고 할 수 있다. 둘째, 문화 개념을 지속적인 완전성을 향한 과정으로 이해하는 경향으로서, 이는 주로 자문화를 확인하는 방식이라고 할 수 있다. 예컨대, 국제결혼 이주민이 한국 사회에 정착하면서 본격적인 삶을 영위할 때 '한국인'으로서 정체성을 확인하는 방식이다. 하지만 이와 같은 기존의 연구성과를 북한 주민, 새터민, 국제결혼 이주민 가정의 자녀에게 적용했을 때에는 일정한 한계가 보인다. 첫째, 북한 주민들은 현재 북한 정권의 특성상, 다문화 사회에 대한 거부감이 크고, 단일민족주의를 이데올로기적 차원에서 이해할 가능성이 매우 크다. 즉 북한 주민들이 자문화 차원에서 민족 정체성을 강하게 확인하더라고, 매우 폐쇄적이라고 할 수 있다. 둘째, 새터민의 경우에는 자문화 확인의 정도는 강하지만, 한국 사회의 정착과정에서 경험하게 되는 사회경제적 차별로 인해 자신들만의 정체성 확인에 그친다. 셋째, 국제결혼 이주민 가정의 자녀들과 그 부모들은 모두가 '한국인'이라는 정체성 수준은 매우 높았다. 다만 이주민 부모의 경우에는 자신들의 문화에 대한 정체성은 그대로 유지하고 있었다. 그러나 순혈주의의 측면에서 이들 모두에 대한 차별적 인식은 여전히 강하게 남아 있는 실정이다. 한반도 통일에 대한 가치의 토대는 다문화 구성원들 모두가 분담할 수 있는 '정체성'의 문제이다. 이를 삶의 영역에서 확인하고 전개할 수 있는 방안은 각 구성원들의 특성들을 모두 고려할 수 있을 때에만 가능하다. 기존 연구의 문화 개념을 다문화 수준별로 접근했을 때 근본적인 문제는 내면적으로 구성원들 모두가 한국 다문화 사회에서 한민족 정체성에 대한 어떤 공통된 분담을 가질 수 있는지에 대한 답을 명료하게 제시하지 못했다. 이런 점에서 다문화 사회에서 한반도 통일의 가치토대는 외면적이고 제도적인 문제라기보다는 내면적이고 정체성에 관한 문제이다. 이 문제는 결국 다문화 구성원들이 관계의 삶의 영역에서 도덕적 행위자라는 점에서 이들의 정서가 문화적으로 전개되는 과정에서 보다 세밀하게 진행되어야 할 것이다.
