Accounts from therapeutic culture seem often to associate the selfish, or at least self-centered quest for self-fulfillment with individual choice or satisfaction, self-expression, expressive individualism, and emotionalism. These associations point to the downside of therapy as they present it as constituting a culture of narcissism, selfishness, or irresponsibility. While some of these characterizations contain useful insights, they overlook what are maybe some of the most important features of a therapeutic outlook. This paper aims to reveal that the therapeutic imperative is not so much geared towards the realization of self-fulfillment, as it is the promotion of self-limitation. Therapeutic culture tends to posit the self in a fragile and feeble form and insist that the management of life requires the continuous intervention of therapeutic expertise. Because of this, the elevated concern with the self is underpinned by anxiety, pain, suffering, and survival, rather than seen as a positive vision of realizing the human potential. Therapeutic culture has in this way helped to construct a diminished sense of self by which one is seen as suffering from an emotional deficit and vulnerability. This paper demonstrates this downside of therapeutic culture concerning self-limitation and the sense of a diminished self by examining popular "misery memoirs." Misery memoirs are widely consumed by the general public, therefore tend to be treated by contemporary therapeutic culture as a gospel on the therapeutic ideal for self-fulfillment and self-discovery. This is, despite the existence of hidden evidence to the contrary, because of their redemptive, happy endings that show individuals overcoming difficult trials such as child abuse, incestuous rape, and domestic violence. Individual self-fulfillment and self-discovery in such stories are not achieved through the active agency of the subject but through the passive endurance of pathological symptoms and with the aid of expertise and outside support. Therefore, such stories put victims in the limited position.
This study identifies the factors that influence juvenile delinquency, which has increased both offline and online. It is hypothesized that the influence of negative parenting on online and offline juvenile delinquency is mediated through smartphone dependency and personal emotional problems. In addition, the study hypothesizes that participation in cultural activities soothes the influence. Using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 20.0 programs, we conducted a confirmatory factor analysis, a multi-mediation analysis, and a cross-group comparative analysis. The analyses found the significant mediation effect of smart phone dependence and personal emotional problems on the relationship between negative parenting and juvenile delinquiency. Participation in cultural activities overall weakens the hypothesized effects.

The purpose of this study is to see if cultural contents that are characterized by experience goods have different types of One Source Multi Use (OSMU) phenomena. This study classified original works into web-novels and webtoons, and studied how OSMU evolution paths can be different between the two types of originals. In addition, this study compared Korean and Chinese examples. Using eight original works created between 1999 and 2012, which were later used for OSMU, this study investigated how web-novels and webtoons took different OSMU evolution paths in Korea and China. As a result, this study found that web-novels are more actively used in different formats than webtoons, probably because web-novels can more easily stimulate people's imaginations. In addition, Korea was found to use story-centered OSMU before character-centered OSMU, whereas China showed both types of OSMU simultaneously.

This study conducted a topic modeling and semantic network analysis of 'korean wave' and its meaning in Korean society from 2000 to 2019 by applying an agenda setting theory. For this purpose, a total of 197,992 newspaper articles which reported 'korean wave' issues were analyzed by applying topic modeling and semantic network analysis. As a result, first, the word 'korean wave' mainly appeared in korean-related regions in the korean press. culture and economy. second, a total of 9 topics related to korean wave issues appeared. This was followed by 'broadcast', 'export', 'domestic and foreign affairs', 'education', 'beauty and fashion', 'music and performance', 'tourism', 'media(platform)', and 'region'. Lastly, korean wave was mainly discussed at the cultural and economic ares. In addition, it was clustered into five characteristics: 'cultural hallyu', 'business hallyu', 'education', 'environment', and 'geography'.
Investigation of conservation status, optical survey, infrared thermography, and ultrasonic examination were performed on Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva mural and Buddhist Monk Bodhidharma mural to determine the conservation status and physical properties. As a result of investigation of conservation status, the types of damage are largely divided into the wall and finishing layer damage, painting layer degradation, damage due to restoration materials, stains and contamination, and biological damage. As a result of the optical survey, drawing, stains, and repainted site were confirmed. Result of the infrared thermography, the delamination of the finishing layer was confirmed, and some locations and shapes of the wooden lath inside the wall were identified. The result of the 3D scanning, the deviation, and the separation of the wall was confirmed. As a result of ultrasonic examination, it was confirmed that the physical properties of the mural were identified and the ultrasonic speed was relatively low due to physical damage such as delamination and exfoliation of the finishing layer and cracking. Ultrasonic speed values were also high in some wall cracks or delamination, and it was confirmed by the infrared thermography results that the wooden lath inside the wall was located in those parts. It was possible to understand that the wooden lath inside the walls affects the ultrasonic speed during the ultrasonic examination. Therefore, management through periodic inspection of the relevant elements is necessary, and a countermeasure for damage that may occur in the future should be prepared along with intensive monitoring of the major damage identified in this diagnosis result.
The purpose of this study is to establish an S.I. (Space Identity) considering the spatial location and cultural specificity of Jecheon Jungang Market, the oldest and largest market in Jecheon with historical characteristics. To this end, we identify the flow of the cultural tourism market, investigate and analyze the current state of Jecheon Central Market, and present a direction based on storytelling for each space. The concept of space design was divided into space, time, people, and culture as coexistence, and merchants, products, and shopping malls share temporality and coexist in one space. Therefore, the facilities for each floor consisted of a gate, information board, lighting, rest area, design bench facility, information center, business compliance line, floor sign, and gate floor sign for each floor. Through this, it is necessary to establish a mid- to long-term development strategy by establishing a step-by-step promotion strategy to predict the economic effect of creating new demand and increasing sales in Jecheon Central Market.
The purpose of this paper is to introduce eight articles which were written on the psychological mechanisms of accidents in Korean society and to suggest alternatives to prevent them. All of these articles were presented during the "Symposium of Safety" at the Annual Conference of the Korean Psychological Association, at Youngnam University through October 18~19, 2002. Frequently occurring accidents in Korean society are a very serious and enduring social issue. Psychological and cultural factors, as well as environmental factors, were found to be leading causes of the various accidents. The preventative alternatives for these accidents should be developed taking into account these factors. A nation-wide comprehensive institute for accident management is necessary to control accidents and to study and to develop preventive programs. The attitude of psychologists also needs to shift from the laboratory to the field toward accidents and from passive to aggressive toward issues facing Korean society.
Recently, the intercultural approach, which aims to resolve social conflicts in multicultural societies through cultural encounters and dialogue, has been actively discussed. Intercultural education aims to foster smooth relationships and improve communication skills through interactions among various cultural groups. Analysis of previous studies has revealed the need for research on intercultural civic education programs targeted at adults. Therefore, this study was designed to develop an intercultural citizenship education program and to analyze its effects. For the study, previous research on interculturalism, intercultural citizenship education, and intercultural citizenship education programs was comprehensively analyzed. The developed intercultural citizenship education program was categorized into five major themes: understanding oneself and others, racism and hate speech, overcoming conflict and discrimination, breaking away from prejudice and stereotypes, and the future of our country. Subsequently, the program was implemented with 64 total second-year middle school students, 37 in the experimental group, and 27 in the control group, at an accredited lifelong educational institution in M City, South Jeolla Province. To analyze the effects of the education, an intercultural competency scale was used. The results showed that the intercultural citizenship education program for adult students was effective in conflict management, respect, communication, and reflection competencies, all at a statistically significant level. Finally, the authors compared the study results with previous research and discussed the findings. Findings indicated the necessity of enhancing multicultural citizenship awareness among adults and expanding teacher training in intercultural education. The program effectively improved intercultural competence among adult students, highlighting the importance of tailored educational content and active participation in discussions. Future research should ensure a balanced gender ratio among participants.

War films are a general term for films that have battlefields as their main background. Although war films as a genre directly deal with combat situations, they also deal with characters or subjects related to war. War films promote patriotism and nationalism, but they also argue against war by highlighting the disastrous war. This study is based on the color theory that the meaning of film color is temporarily and infinitely generated according to the cultural differences, with Eisenstein's creative theory on film color and pathos. I wanted to clarify the pathos effect and the meaning of color green expressed in the Korean war films. In war films, colors are visualized in art forms such as symbols, similes and metaphors. In war films, color green symbolizes life. On the battlefield, the green of nature stands against the catastrophic situation. The green of ecology, which insists on the flow of life, evokes fear in ecological crises such as war, disaster and climate change. The dark green caused by a catastrophe like war warns of the destruction of life. The connotation of color is temporarily and infinitely expands according to the cultural differences. The dark green, which visualizes the battlefield of destruction, is a form and element of pathos that indicates changes in emotions such as sadness, pity, grief and despair. Pathos as an emotional appeal is a leap from the quality to the quality of the means of expression and refers to the departure from Dasein. The green color that dominates the visuals of war films is a symbol of life and functions as a pathos that makes emotional changes take a new leap. A qualitative leap through pathos means all changes that become new.

In various fields such as art, design, music, film, sports, games, and fashion, NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are creating new economic value through trading platforms dedicated to NFT art and content. In this article, I analyze the current state of blockchain technology and NFT art content in the context of an expanding market for blockchain-based NFT art content in the metaverse. I also propose several tasks based on the economic and industrial logic of technological innovation. The first task proposed is to integrate cultural arts on blockchain, metaverse, and NFT platforms through digital innovation, instead of separating or distinguishing between creative production and consumption. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a clear separation between creators and consumers. However, with the rise of Web 3.0 platforms, any user can now create and own their own content. Therefore, it is important to promote a collaborative and integrated approach to cultural arts production and consumption in the blockchain and metaverse ecosystem. The second task proposed is to align the legal framework with blockchain-based technological innovation. The enactment and revision of relevant laws should focus on promoting the development of the NFT trading platform ecosystem, rather than merely regulating it for user protection. As blockchain-based technology continues to evolve, it is important that legal systems adapt to support and promote innovation in the space. This shift in focus can help create a more conducive environment for the growth of blockchain-based NFT platforms. The third task proposed is to integrate education on digital arts, including metaverse and NFT art contents, into the current curriculum. This education should focus on convergence and consilience, rather than merely mixing together humanities, technology, and arts. By integrating digital arts education into the curriculum, students can gain a more comprehensive understanding of the potential of blockchain-based technologies and NFT art. This article examines the digital technological innovation such as blockchain, metaverse, and NFT from an economic and industrial point of view. As a limitation of this research, the critical mind such as philosophical thinking or social criticism on technological innovation is left as a future task.
