  • Modern museums that started from 17th century in Europe have played a role of storage for collections of the upper class as a form of private museum. Since 18th century the publicity has been more emphasized in the society of Europe and there became a public museum that serves as a institution for social education. In addition to this, the mass production that began with the Industrial Revolution relieved the working hour of the public and they started to spend their more time for visiting museums to have social education. In korea there constructed a lot of public museums after economic development and people experienced the social education and the cultural events. However, there raised questions on security issue regarding relic because of growing number of visitors to the museums. Due to this, the museums asked a surveillance system for their relic. But the museums don't have enough research on this nor understanding the current situation. Because the relic in museums of history has a money value, the anti-theft system is more focussed. In addition to the direct surveillance system with staff or closed-circuit television(CCTV), the indirected system with visitor's mutual surveillance in conjunction with spatial structure has to be researched. This study is to understand the relationship between surveillance system and spatial structure with reference to korea's national and public museum of history. With the results of the research, the study provides a planning guideline to the museum architecture to prevent security problem.

  • This study examined if realistic cues of violence - blood color (red), sound cues (screams of pain), and perspective (first-person) - influence user arousal, feeling of presence, and their memory for the game events and positions with personal experience of games. The relationship between arousal and presence was also analyzed with their effects on memory in a 3D modified shooter game (CounterStrike). Results indicated that both realism cues of violence increased the player's arousal regardless of the user's level of game experience, and the arousal had a significant relationship with engagement by affecting presence strongly. Especially, engagement (a sub-factor of presence) was stronger than other variables in explaining the memory effect, and it mediated the effect between arousal and memory. However, the first-person perspective did not show any significant effect on arousal, and had a negative effect on engagement.

For the purpose of this research, the study used 27 color pictures on the whole bodies of preschool children who wore children dresses that mixed clothing design factors differently (sleeve, skirt length, waist line, materials, color, decoration type and location) through a survey. Regarding the survey objects, this study objected preschool children of 5~6 years old girl's mothers who lived in Gwangju Metropolitan City, and its results were same as follows. First, the mothers evaluated children dresses like 'beautiful,' smart,' 'cute,' 'tidy' images. This study began with a perception that a sharing culture is inherent in urban public spaces. This study aims to conduct a theoretical study of the sharing culture and to analyze the characteristics of the design composition of public spaces. This study selected squares in 16 European cities as cases for analysis. The results are summarized as follows:1)To analyze the design characteristics of public spaces in which a sharing culture is inherent, this study drew the shape and type of planes and sharing elements such as accessibility, symbolism and activity with the squares in the cases. 2)The shape of planes in the squares in the cases has been formed in close relations with the historic meaning and events of the area and the process of the construction of buildings surrounding the square. The squares in the cases were classified into seven plane types, and these squares have developmentally contributed to the formation of a sharing culture as a place for free participation and communication concerning social issues. 3)In the squares in the cases, the weight of road-centered access appears high, and in terms of the construction of human-friendly / environment-friendly infrastructure in the city or judging from the trend of the recent increase of pedestrian-centered plans for public space, it is judged that approaches with a high utilization rate of sidewalk or public transportation would be desirable. 4)Symbolic elements of the square become a device by which citizens can share the historic symbolism, along with artistic inspiration. In addition, by serving as an observatory from which people can take a view of the landscape of the city, it allows visual sharing of the entire city as well as the square. 5)A square is common pool resources in the community, and it is necessary to vitalize that in a direction of increasing the possibility of sharing, through the characteristics and methods of the composition of public design.

  • Korean embroidery is the long historical industrial arts of real life and has handed down Korean sentiment up to now. Korean traditional embroidered pattern is designed to wish someone's health and luck, who uses the embroidery on the clothes and the goods in real life. Especially, the ten longevity symbols' design is represented as 10 which means perfection in oriental philosophy, the sun, mountain, cloud, water, crane, rock, turtle, pine tree, the elixir of life and deer; these 10 symbols show how ancient Korean believe and wish perpetual youth. However, fiber material used embroidery relic has difficulty in preserving for long period compared to other relic descended from historical events for long time and their preserved state isn't so good owing to have been used directly in the real life. Therefore, it is essentially embossed to preserve the embroidery relic and pattern, and make DB for the data. With preservation of the pictures about the handicraft, it's necessary to preserve embroidery technique and make DB through digital imagination. Through the process, we can apply Korean embroidery image to cul-duct package and digital image related field, and it will be helpful to make the tradition popular. In this study, through the research for the embroidery technique applied pattern on the embroidery relic of ten longevity symbols, we'll establish the cultural identification of Korean embroidery image and then develop a worldwide Korean image.
