1-D and 2-D Metal Oxide Nanostructures

  • Metal oxide nanostructures have been applied to various fields such as energy, catalysts and electronics. We have freely designed one and two-dimensional (1 and 2-D) metal (transition metals and lanthanides) oxide nanostructures, characterized them using various techniques including scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction crystallography, thermogravimetric analysis, FT-IR, UV-visible-NIR absorption, Raman, photoluminescence, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and temperature-programmed thermal desorption (reaction) mass spectrometry. In addition, Ag- and Au-doped metal oxides will be discussed in this talk.

  • C5H6N3O2+ H2Po4-, Mr=2 2 1. 6 9 3, Orthorhombic, Pna21, a=25.680(3)A, b=6.234(1)A, V=908.23A3, Z=4, Dx=1.734Mgm-3, λ(MoKa)=0.7169A, μ=2.60-1mm F(000)488, T=297K, final R=0.0328 for 881 independent reflection. The crystal contains parallel to the b-c Plance(the cleavage plane) and stacks of 2-amino-5 -nitropryridinium (2A5NP+) ions connecting the phosphate planes.

Structure Refinement of $SrAl_{12}O_{19}$ Magnetoplumbite Using Energy Minimization Techniques

  • Computational technique, based on the minimization of the crystal energy with respect to atomic coordinates, are shown to reproduce successfully complex crystal structure, in this case, strontium hexaaluminate magnetoplumbite, SrAl/sub 12/O/sub 19/. The experimental crystal structure and symmetry of the complex material is well reproduced with our potential models and some crystal physical properties are calculated.

  • CaTiO₃:Pr phosphor thin films were prepared on Si(100), ZnO/glass, Corning glass and ITO/glass by rf magnetron reactive sputtering. The effects of deposition parameters such as oxygen partial pressure, substrate temperature, and annealing conditions on crystallinity and compositional variation of the films were investigated. PL spectra of CaTiO₃:Pr phosphor thin films exhibited red regime peaking at 613 nm and enhanced PL intensity was observed for the film annealed in vacuum atmosphere as compared to the deposit annealed in N₂ environment.

Crystal Defect Chemistry of Strontium Hexaaluminate Magnetoplumbite

  • Computer-based atomistic simulation methods are applied to address quantitatively the crystal defect chemistry of strontium hexaaluminate, SrAl/sub 12/O/sub 19/. Our calculations show that oxygen Frenkel disorder is the dominant intrinsic defect mode to be expected in the multi-component oxide, though Schottky disorder may also exist. When La and Mg enter into SrAl/sub 12/O/sub 19/. Mg prefers to occupy Al(3)4f tetrahedral sites in the magnetoplumbite structure. Our calculations also indicate that O/sub Sr/ defect is improbable in the structure.

  • 본 연구에서는 포항-연일지역 및 감포-하서지 역의 점토광물과 주변모암의 열괭창 특성, 지구화 학적 및 물리적 특성. 그리고 성인에 대하여 고찰하였다. Ca계 몬모릴로나이트영역에 속함을 알 수 있다. 그러나 제올라이트는 뚜렷한 특징을 보이지 않는다. 점토질암석과 그 이외의 벤토나이트 및 제올라이트사이의 Sr. Cu, V. Li과 La의 함량에는 차이가 발견된다.
