Chitinase, a potential pathogensis- related portein, was induced in the leaves of 30 day - old bean( phaseolus vulgaris ) plant with the treatment of 10 $\mu $ /mℓ ethylen for 30hrs. Chitinase was purified from the mature tissue of bean leaves( phaseolus vulgaris ) by ammonium sulfate precipitation followed by affinity chromatography on a regenerated chitin and sephadex G-75 chromatography. The purified chitinase gave a single band SDS- PAGE to be 32,000 Dalton. In order to elucidate the three- dimensional structure of chitinase and to shed light on the functional mechanism of this class of enzymes, the enzyme was tried to crystallize( Sitting Drop Method). Crystals grew at room temperature to their final size within two weeks(0.2mm $\times $0.2mm $\times $ 0.1 mm ), This enzyme are still continuing to crystallize for the study of X- ray.
We report and discuss molecular and isotopic properties of hydrate-bound gases from 55 samples and void gases from 494 samples collected during Ocean Drilling Program (ODP) Leg 204 at Hydrate Ridge offshore Oregon. Gas hydrates appear to crystallize in sediments from two end-member gas sources (deep allochthonous and in situ) as mixtures of different proportions. In an area of high gas flux at the Southern Summit of the ridge (Sites 1248-1250), shallow (0-40 meters below the seafloor (mbsf)) gas hydrates are composed of mainly allochthonous mixed microbial and thermogenic methane and a small portion of thermogenic C2+ gases, which migrated vertically and laterally from as deep as 2-2.5 km depths. In contrast, deep (50-105 mbsf) gas hydrates at the Southern Summit (Sites 1248 and 1250) and on the flanks of the ridge (Sites 1244-1247) crystallize mainly from microbial methane and ethane generated dominantly in situ. A small contribution of allochthonous gas may also be present at sites where geologic and tectonic settings favor vertical gas migration from greater depth (e.g., Site 1244).
Three systems such as CaS, BaS and ZnS are used as ground materials and transition elements such as Bi, Cu, Ag and Ni are used as activators to preared phosphorescent materials of strong after-grow intensity. These three systems in which we have 31 kinds of different composition samples are heated at given temperatures in the electrical furnace and are cooled in the air in order to crystallize them. In the case of BaS system, the mixture of CaO and purified S is better than the other kinds of calcium compound as the ground materials to crystallize phosphors. In BaS system, the mixture of BaCO$_{3}$ and purified S, in ZnS system ZnS respectively is the most proper ground material to prepare such a strong after-grow intensified phosphors. In a given range, the higher in temperature and the longer time of heating, the better phosphors we obtain.

TiO$_{2}$ tin films have been grown by MOCVD and their cahracteristics of crystallization and microstructures ahve been invetigated. Envelope mehtods are applied to the analysis of the transmission spectra to obtain the optical constants such as refractive indices and extinction coefficients for the TiO$_{2}$ thin films. The envelope methods are proved to be accurate by simulatin gthe transmission spectra. TiO$_{2}$ thin films start to crystallize at 350.deg.C and then crystallize fully into anatase phase at 400.deg.C or higher temperatures. Activation energies are obtained by plotting the deposition rate with varying the substrate temperature. It is 17.8 kcal/mol for the reaction limited regions. The refractive index and the extinction coefficient of the TiO$_{2}$ thin film at .gamma.=632.8 nm increases from 2.19 to 2.32 and decreases from 0.021 to 0.007, respectively, as the substrate temperature increases from 400 to 600.deg. C.
Forsterite is a crystalline magnesium silicate with chemical formula $Mg_2SiO_4$, which has extremely low electrical conductivity that makes it an ideal substrate material for electronics. In this study, forsterite precursors were synthesized with magnesium silicate gels from the mixture of magnesium nitrate solution and various sodium silicate solution by the geopolymer technique. Precursors and heattreated powders were characterized by thermogravimetrical differential thermal analyzer(TG-DTA), X-ray diffractometer(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), Si magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance(MAS-NMR), transmission electron microscopy(TEM). As the result of analysis about the crystallization behavior by DTA, the synthesized precursors were crystallized in the temperature range of $700^{\circ}C$ to $900^{\circ}C$. The XRD results showed that the gel composition began to crystallize at various temperature. Also, it was found that the sodium orthosilicate based precursors(named as 'FO') began to crystallize at above $550^{\circ}C$. The FO peaks were much stronger than sodium silicate solution based precursors(named as 'FW'), sodium metasilicate based precursors(named as 'FM') at $800^{\circ}C$. TEM investigation revealed that the 100nm particle sized sample was obtained from FO by heating up to $800^{\circ}C$.
10 wt.% and 20 wt.%$Li-TiO_2$ composite powders are synthesized by a sol-gel method using titanium isopropoxide and $Li_2CO_3$ as precursors. The as-received amorphous 10 wt.%$Li-TiO_2$ composite powders crystallize into the anatase-type crystal structure upon calcination at $450^{\circ}C$, which then changes to the rutile phase at $750^{\circ}C$. The asreceived 20 wt%$Li-TiO_2$ composite powders, on the other hand, crystallize into the anatase-type structure. As the calcination temperature increases, the anatase $TiO_2$ phase gets transformed to the $LiTiO_2$ phase. The peaks for the samples obtained after calcination at $900^{\circ}C$ mainly exhibit the $LiTiO_2$ and $Li_2TiO_3$ phases. For a comparison of the photocatalytic activity, 10 wt.% and 20 wt.% $Li-TiO_2$ composite powders calcined at $450^{\circ}C$, $600^{\circ}C$, and $750^{\circ}C$ are used. The 20 wt.%$Li-TiO_2$ composite powders calcined at $600^{\circ}C$ show excellent efficiency for the removal of methylorange.

Crystallization of the amorphous silicon needs activation. Thermal energy through laser annealing, furnace annealing and rapid thermal process (RTP) has been convinced to crystallize the amorphous silicon thin film. It is expected that some other type of energy like mechanical energy can help to crystallize the amorphous silicon thin film. In this study, mechanical energy through wet blasting of silica slurry and silicon ion implantation has been applied to the amorphous silicon thin film deposited with LPCVD technique. RTP was employed for the annealing of this mechanically-damaged amorphous silicon thin film. For the characterization of the crystallized silicon thin film, XRD and Raman analysis were conducted. In this study, it is shown that the mechanical damage is effective to enhance the crystallization of amorphous silicon thin film.
Mullite precursors were synthesized with aluminosilicate gels from mixture of aluminum nitrate and sodium orthosilicate by the geopolymer technique at ambient temperature. Then, the gel was heat-treated in air up to $1200^{\circ}C$ at intervals of $100^{\circ}C$. Raw and heat-treated gels were characterized by TG-DTA, XRD, FTIR, $^{29}Si$ MAS-NMR, TEM. The result to examine the crystallization of behavior though DTA, the synthesized precursors were crystallized in the temperature range from $950^{\circ}C$ to $1050^{\circ}C$. The XRD results showed that the gel compositions were begun to crystallize at various temperature. Also, it was found that the precursors of M-4 begun to crystallize at about $950^{\circ}C$. The M-4 XRD peaks were characterized better than $M-1{\sim}M-3$ at $1000^{\circ}C$. The formation temperature of mullite in this study is much lower than that of previous sol-gel methods, which crystallized at up of $1200^{\circ}C$. TEM investigations revealed that the sample with 10 nm particle size was obtained via heat-treated at $1000^{\circ}C$ for M-4.
These days, interest in the leaching of hazardous heavy metals to consist of incinerator fly ash is increasing, because the heavy metals that leach from the incinerator fly ash pollute the soil and ground water. Therefore this study was undertaken to crystallize the fly ash and prevent the leaching of hazardous heavy metals from fly ash. The concentrations and the leaching concentration of hazardous heavy metals(Cd, Cr, Hg, Pb, Zn) in the law incinerator fly ash have been measured. The fly ash was melted with two kinds of flux($Na_2CO_3, CaCO_3$) and its add quantity(0, 1, 2, 3 wt%). The crystal structure of melting materials was analyzed by SEM(Scaning Electron Microscope) and X-RD(X-Ray Diffractometer). The leaching test of melting materials was undertaken. And the relation between crystallization of melting materials and flux and leaching concentration. These experiments indicate that the concentration and leaching concentration of heavy metals in incinerator fly ash was much higher than the regulatory standard for leachates in Korea and U.S.A and average concentration of heavy metals in soil. And the crystal structure was better.
The Si5AION7 specimens containing 20% YAG composition have been sintered and then heat treated to induce the crystallization of the matrix glassy phase. Crystallization of YAG phase during the heat treatment was detected from the X-ray diffraction patterns and the consequent changes in room temperature toughness as well as in microstructures were investigated. Almost all the glassy boundary phase were found to crystallize even after 5 minutes of heat treatment and the KC at room temperature decreased accordingly. The results show that the matrix crystallization can be induced by slow cooling from the sintering temperature.
