  • Many parts of life have been changed due to the unprecedented coronavirus outbreak, and Noncontact has now become a general culture of society around the world. Also, many years later, after the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it is now deeply embedded in the human lifestyle. The purpose of this paper's research is to investigate the metaverse perception before and after Corona. It was confirmed that the number of metaverse, the central keyword, was 70971 before Corona, but 261767 after Corona, which was more than three times the frequency. In addition, it was confirmed that the number of COVID-19, the reference point of this study, increased significantly to 1,9236 during the pre-COVID-19 period. Through this, it can be inferred that the metaverse accelerated and developed significantly after the corona. Metaverse about Keywords such as cryptocurrency, cryptocurrency, coin, and exchange appeared before Corona, and the word frequency ranking for blockchain, which is an underlying technology, was high, but after Corona, the word frequency ranking fell significantly as mentioned above. As such, it was confirmed that keywords for metaverse were changing before and after Corona, and as such, Consumers' perceptions were also changing.

  • Bitcoin (BTC) is a cryptocurrency proposed by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009. Bitcoin makes its transactions with no central authorities. This decentralization is accomplished with its mining, which is an operation that makes people compete to solve math puzzles to include new transactions into block, and eventually block chains (ledger) of bitcoin. Because miners need to solve a complex puzzles, they need a lot of computing resources. In return for miners' resources, bitcoin network gives newly minted bitcoins as a reward to miners when they succeed in mining. To prevent inflation, the reward is halved every 4 years. For example, in 2009 block reward was 50 BTC, but today, the block reward is 12.5 BTC. On the other hands, exchange rate for bitcoin and Korean Won (KRW) changed drastically from 924,000 KRW/BTC (January 12th, 2017) to 16,103,306 KRW/BTC (December 10th, 2017), which made mining more attractive. However, there are no rigorous researches on the profitability of bitcoin mining. In this paper, we evaluate the profitability of bitcoin mining.

  • Recently, Bitcoin which is digital currency and cryptocurrency is getting worldwide attention since Bitcoin has an ability to replace legal tender unlike other existing cyber currency. Especially, most Bitcoin trading is done between two traders such as P2P method and it does not require a third-party to make sure reliability and it records every transaction details, so it is more transparent then traditional financial trade, so the number of users is increasing. However, Bitcoin, which has been recognized for transparency, confidentiality and stability among traders has recently been threatened by illegal transactions such as money laundering and the attack on the exchange. These threats to Bitcoin are becoming social problems. At first, it seems that most of the digital currency is difficult to get hacked due to the Blockchain technology. However, threats such as digital money leaks by user account hacking and paralyzing the servers are increasing. In this paper, it will examine the features of the Bitcoin and the threatening elements to secure marketability of digital currency such as Bitcoin and receive more interest from public in domestic. The paper will examine the problems of Blockchain technology on speculative transactions and fraudulent behavior by analyzing the problems of Bitcoin transaction. Lastly, it will propose ways to make transparent and secure digital currency transactions.

  • In this study, we predicted the bitcoin prices of Bithum and Coinbase, a leading exchange in Korea and USA, using ARIMA and Recurrent Neural Networks(RNNs). And we used news articles from each country to suggest a separated RNN model. The suggested model identifies the datasets based on the changing trend of prices in the training data, and then applies time series prediction technique(RNNs) to create multiple models. Then we used daily news data to create a term-based dictionary for each trend change point. We explored trend change points in the test data using the daily news keyword data of testset and term-based dictionary, and apply a matching model to produce prediction results. With this approach we obtained higher accuracy than the model which predicted price by applying just time series prediction technique. This study presents that the limitations of the time series prediction techniques could be overcome by exploring trend change points using news data and various time series prediction techniques with text mining techniques could be applied to improve the performance of the model in the further research.

  • Purpose Since the Bitcoin, which was the first virtual currency, was made at 2009, almost 1,000 virtual currencies appeared onstage in the world. Even though virtual currencies have the function of money as a medium of exchange or contract, any of those has not yet entered the commercialization stage. Instead, some of the virtual currencies show the nature of investment assets. In the case of virtual money investment, users tend to use all the information of the world because information transfer is very easy and capital movement is almost free between different countries. In addition, as the transaction sizes of virtual currencies increase, a virtual currency price is no longer independent and is likely to be affected by the prices of other virtual currencies. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the influence among virtual currency markets, which helps successful implementation of investment strategies. Design/methodology/approach This study focuses on the investment product function of virtual money and conducts the analysis using the time series model used in the financial and economic areas. In this paper, we try to analyze the return and volatility transfer effect of virtual money markets through GJR-GARCH model. Findings This study is expected to find out whether we can make market forecasts through reflecting changes in other markets. In addition, we can reduce the trial and error of user decision making by using the information on the yield and volatility transition effect derived from the research results, and it is expected to reduce the opportunity cost of users.
