  • A new genus and two new species of Bathynellacea are described from California in USA. Califobathynella, a new genus, belongs to the subfamily Leptobathynellinae, and is closely related to the genera Parvulobathynella and Leptobathynella but differs from them with respect to labrum, maxillule, maxilla, and male thoracopod VIII. Based on the detailed structure of mouthparts, the phylogenetic relationship of three genera are discussed. The phlogenetic age of the stem species of three genera are estimated at the late Jurassic, based on their phylogenetic relationship and distribution pattern. Two new species, C. noodti and C. teucherti differ from each other in the structure of labrum.

  • Thirteen pelagic species of mysids, representing nine genera, are reported from the Korea Strait and its adjacent waters. Of these, seven species, Doxomysis quadrispinosa, Meterythrops microphthalma, Pleurerythrops secunda, Pseudanchialina pusilla, Siriella gracilis, S. okadgi, and S. thompsoni, are newly recorded from the Korean waters. A taxonomic key and illustrative figures are given.

  • Two new species of siphonostomatoid copepods, Asterocheres tubiporae n. sp. and Entomopsyllus stocki n. sp., associated with the stoloniferan coral Tubipora musica (Linnaeus) are described from Madagascar. Asterocheres tubiporae is characterized by the possession of a large posteroventral process on the caudal ramus and the elongated free segment of leg 5. Entomopsyllus stocki is readily distinguished from its congeners by the possession in the female of 15-segmented antennule and three spines plus two setae on the third exopodal segment of leg 4.

  • Five new species of copepods associated with marine invertebrates are described from shallow water of the Pacific coast of Panama. They are Pseudomacrochiron pocilloporae n. sp., Acontiophorus panamensis n. sp. and Asterocheres urabensis n. sp. associated with the scleractinian coral Pocillopora damicornis (Linnaeus), Asterocheres pilosus n. sp. associated with the echinoid Eucidaris thouarsii (Valenciennes), and Asterocheres walteri n. sp. associated with the sea star Oreaster brevispinis.

  • From an examination of caprellid specimens collected from Korea, we found a new species belonging to the genus Perotripus. This new species is clearly distinguished from two previously recorded species, P. brevis and P. keablei, in having an acute projection and blunt apex of distal segment of pereopod 5. This genus Perotripus is reported from Korea for the first time. We described it with figures in detail. As a result, Korean caprellid fauna consists of 35 species in seven genera.

  • A newly recorded species of gammaridean amphipod, Synopia (Telsosynopia) trifidilla Hughes and Lowry, 2006 belonging to the family Synopiidae Dana, 1853 was collected from the southern Korean coasts. Synopia (Telsosynopia) trifidilla Hughes and Lowry is characterized by the entire telson with a trifid apical margin. The species is described and fully illustrated in the present study. This is the first record of the family Synopiidae from Korea.

  • Two marine isopods, Pentias hayi Richardson, 1904 and P. thompsoni Collinge, 1916 were verified as unrecorded species in South Korea. The genus Pentias is reported for the first time in South Korea. These two isopods were collected from Heuksan-do Island and Ulleung-do Island from South Korea, respectively. We provide descriptions of the diagnostic characteristics, illustrations of two species and their partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (CO1) for molecular characteristics.

  • Three marine isopods, Symmius yamaguchiensis Shimomura, 2008, Colanthura pigmentata Kensley, 1980 and Synidotea nipponensis Nunomura, 1985 are reported for the first time in South Korea. The family Chaetiliidae, and genera Symmius and Colanthura are new to South Korea. We provide descriptions of the diagnostic characteristics, illustrations of three species and their partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (CO1) for molecular characteristics.

  • Newly recorded cyproideid species of the genus Terepeltopes was collected from Korean waters. The monotyptic genus Terepeltopes erected with T. dolichorhunia Hirayama, 1983 was only known to be found at West Kyushu, Japan. In this study, the family Cyproideidae Barnard, 1974 is first recorded from Korea by the discovery of T. dolichorhunia, and we provide description and illustrations of this species.
