도시간선도로에서의 DFS 설치 효과 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of the Effect DFS installation on Urban Arterial Road)

  • Recently, with the existing speed-management by law enforcements and physical speed-reduction facilities, the country newly adopted Driver Feedback Sign (DFS) system, which displays driving speed in order to guide the driver to an advisable driving condition. DFS is mainly used in school zones due to reasons related to the ITS. Accordingly, because it is predictable that DFS will result in speed-reduction without legal forces and would have an effect on physical speed-reduction facilities, intersection, crosswalks, and road-alignments, this study will try to verify the efficiency of DFS by researching the vehicle speed in national highways and school zones, which have similar conditions to the urban arterial road. In consequence, on national highways, the drivers had a tendency to travel according to the road-environment such as urban arterial road and not reduce speed voluntarily. In school zones, drivers tend to reduce speed in mornings and afternoons when children travel to school or home, showing that the resulting effect is different according to the road-environment where DFS is installed, and the time slot of the DFS.

Random Parameters 음이항 모형을 이용한 신호교차로 교통사고 모형개발에 관한 연구 -대전광역시를 대상으로 - (Traffic Accident Models using a Random Parameters Negative Binomial Model at Signalized Intersections: A Case of Daejeon Metropolitan Area)

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to develop a crash prediction model at signalized intersections, which can capture the randomness and uncertainty of traffic accident forecasting in order to provide more precise results. METHODS : The authors propose a random parameter (RP) approach to overcome the limitation of the Count model that cannot consider the heterogeneity of the assigned locations or road sections. For the model's development, 55 intersections located in the Daejeon metropolitan area were selected as the scope of the study, and panel data such as the number of crashes, traffic volume, and intersection geometry at each intersection were collected for the analysis. RESULTS : Based on the results of the RP negative binomial crash prediction model developed in this study, it was found that the independent variables such as the log form of average annual traffic volume, presence or absence of left-turn lanes on major roads, presence or absence of right-turn lanes on minor roads, and the number of crosswalks were statistically significant random parameters, and this showed that the variables have a heterogeneous influence on individual intersections. CONCLUSIONS : It was found that the RP model had a better fit to the data than the fixed parameters (FP) model since the RP model reflects the heterogeneity of the individual observations and captures the inconsistent and biased effects.

디지털 도서관의 의미적 상호운용성(Semantic Interoperability) 향상을 위한 메타데이터 요소와 활용에 관한 연구 (The Utilization of Metadata Elements and Content Designation for Improving Semantic Interoperability in Context of Digital Libraries)

  • 이 연구는 디지털 도서관에 실제로 사용된 메타데이터의 요소와 활용을 분석하여 의미적 상호운용성 향상 요인을 고찰하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 그린스톤 기반의 78종의 디지털 도서관에서 실제로 사용한 메타데이터 요소를 동질 정보 커뮤니티로 세분하여 분석하였다. 동질 정보 커뮤니티내 디지털 도서관에서 사용된 메타데이터 요소를 크로스워킹하고. 각 요소들의 활용 및 활용 수준을 분석하였다 그 결과 동일 정보 커뮤니티 내에서 중복되는 핵심 메타데이터 요소는 25% 미만으로 나타났다. 이들 핵심 메타데이터 요소는 요소 명칭과 활용에 있어서 불일치하는 문제점이 고찰되었으며, 메타데이터 요소 활용의 수준에 있어서도 무결점과 완결성 면에서 상이한 측면이 밝혀졌다.

간선도로 기능별 보행사고 심각도 분석과 모형 개발 (Pedestrian Accident Severity Analysis and Modeling by Arterial Road Function)

  • PURPOSES: The purposes are to analyze the pedestrian accident severity and to develop the accident models by arterial road function. METHODS: To analyze the accident, count data and ordered logit models are utilized in this study. In pursuing the above, this study uses pedestrian accident data from 2007 to 2011 in Cheongju. RESULTS : The main results are as follows. First, daytime, Tue.Wed.Thu., over-speeding, male pedestrian over 65 old are selected as the independent variables to increase pedestrian accident severity. Second, as the accident models of main and minor arterial roads, the negative binomial models are developed, which are analyzed to be statistically significant. Third, such the main variables related to pedestrian accidents as traffic and pedestrian volume, road width, number of exit/entry are adopted in the models. Finally, Such the policy guidelines as the installation of pedestrian fence, speed hump and crosswalks with pedestrian refuge area, designated pedestrian zone, and others are suggested for accident reduction. CONCLUSIONS: This study analyzed the pedestrian accident severity, and developed the negative binomial accident models. The results of this study expected to give some implications to the pedestrian safety improvement in Cheongju.

전방신호기가 교통사고에 미치는 영향 연구 (Impacts of Pre-signals on Traffic Crashes at 4-leg Signalized Intersections)

  • PURPOSES : This study aimed to analyze the impact the operation of pre-signals at 4-leg signalized intersections and present primary environmental factors of roads that need to be considered in the installation of pre-signals. METHODS : Shift of proportions safety effectiveness evaluation method which assesses shifts in proportions of target collision types to determine safety effectiveness was applied to analyze traffic crash by types. Also, Empirical Bayes before/after safety effectiveness evaluation method was adapted to analyze the impact pre-signal installation. Negative binomial regression was conducted to determine SPF(safety performance function). RESULTS : Pre-signals are effective in reducing the number of head on, right angle and sideswipe collisions and both the total number of personal injury crashes and severe crashes. Also, it is deemed that each factor used as an independent variable for the SPF model has strong correlation with the total number of personal injury crashes and severe crashes, and impacts general traffic crashes as a whole. CONCLUSIONS: This study suggests the following should be considered in pre-signal installation on intersections. 1) U-turns allowed in the front and rear 2) A high number of roads that connect to the intersection 3) Many right-turn traffic flows 4) Crosswalks installed in the front and rear 5) Insufficient left-turn lanes compared to left-turn traffic flows or no left-turn-only lane.

정밀 지도에 기반한 자율 주행 시스템 개발 (A Development of the Autonomous Driving System based on a Precise Digital Map)

  • An autonomous driving system based on a precise digital map is developed. The system is implemented to the Hyundai's Tucsan fuel cell car, which has a camera, smart cruise control (SCC) and Blind spot detection (BSD) radars, 4-Layer LiDARs, and a standard GPS module. The precise digital map has various information such as lanes, speed bumps, crosswalks and land marks, etc. They can be distinguished as lane-level. The system fuses sensed data around the vehicle for localization and estimates the vehicle's location in the precise map. Objects around the vehicle are detected by the sensor fusion system. Collision threat assessment is performed by detecting dangerous vehicles on the precise map. When an obstacle is on the driving path, the system estimates time to collision and slow down the speed. The vehicle has driven autonomously in the Hyundai-Kia Namyang Research Center.

A study on road damage detection for safe driving of autonomous vehicles based on OpenCV and CNN

  • For safe driving of autonomous vehicles, road damage detection is very important to lower the potential risk. In order to ensure safety while an autonomous vehicle is driving on the road, technology that can cope with various obstacles is required. Among them, technology that recognizes static obstacles such as poor road conditions as well as dynamic obstacles that may be encountered while driving, such as crosswalks, manholes, hollows, and speed bumps, is a priority. In this paper, we propose a method to extract similarity of images and find damaged road images using OpenCV image processing and CNN algorithm. To implement this, we trained a CNN model using 280 training datasheets and 70 test datasheets out of 350 image data. As a result of training, the object recognition processing speed and recognition speed of 100 images were tested, and the average processing speed was 45.9 ms, the average recognition speed was 66.78 ms, and the average object accuracy was 92%. In the future, it is expected that the driving safety of autonomous vehicles will be improved by using technology that detects road obstacles encountered while driving.

다중스펙트럼을 이용한 횡단보도 보행자 검지에 관한 연구 (A study on the detection of pedestrians in crosswalks using multi-spectrum)

  • 주간 및 야간의 보행자 감지를 위해서는 다중 스펙트럼 활용이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 교통사고의 위험성이 높은 교차로에서 횡단보도 근처의 보행자를 24시간 검출하기 위해 컬러 카메라 및 열화상 적외선 카메라를 사용하였다. 보행자 탐지를 위해서 YOLO v5 객체 검출기를 사용하였으며 컬러 이미지와 열화상 이미지를 동시에 사용하여 감지 성능을 향상 시켰다. 제안된 시스템은 실제 횡단보도 현장에서 확보한 주·야간 다중 스펙트럼(색상 및 열화상) 보행자 데이터 셋에서 Iou 0.5 기준 0.94 mAP의 높은 성능을 보였다.

  • In order to establish an autonomous driving environment, it is necessary to study traffic safety and demand prediction by analyzing information generated from the transportation infrastructure beyond relying on sensors by the vehicle itself. In this paper, we propose a real-time traffic information generation method using sensor convergence technology of transportation infrastructure. The proposed method uses sensors such as cameras and radars installed in the transportation infrastructure to generate information such as crosswalk pedestrian presence or absence, crosswalk pause judgment, distance to stop line, queue, head distance, and car distance according to each characteristic. create information An experiment was conducted by comparing the proposed method with the drone measurement result by establishing a demonstration environment. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that it was possible to recognize pedestrians at crosswalks and the judgment of a pause in front of a crosswalk, and most data such as distance to the stop line and queues showed more than 95% accuracy, so it was judged to be usable.

보행자 안전을 위한 횡단보도의 구현 (Implementation of Crosswalks for Pedestrian Safety)

  • 최근 전체 교통사고 보행 사상자 중 우회전 차량에 의한 보행 사상자의 비율이 2018년 9.6%, 2019년 10%, 2020년 10.4%로 증가세에 있다. 현재는 이러한 상황을 해결하기 위해 국토교통부에서는 2022년부터 보행자 보호 의무 위반 운전자에게 최대 10%의 보험료 할증을 부과하고, 경찰청은 '교차로서 일단정지'를 골자로 하는 도로교통법 개정안을 공포하고 2022년 7월 12일부터 시행한다고 밝혔다. 본 논문은 이러한 상황에서 운전자나 보행자 모두가 안심할 수 있도록 하는 '보행자 안전을 위한 횡단보도의 구현' 기술을 제안한다. 법체계가 아닌 바리케이드와 초음파 거리센서, 압력센서 등을 활용한 물리적인 시스템으로 운전자들의 혼란을 해소하고 보행자들이 안심하고 건널 수 있는 횡단보도를 구현하여 최근 증가하고 있는 우회전 보행자 사고를 예방 할 것이다.
