  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the association between self-reported voice problems and voice disorders in the Korean adult population. Data were collected from the 4th Korea National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey (2008) from 3,135 subjects (1,310 men and 1,825 women) aged 19 years and older. Multi-nominal logistic regression analyses were used to examine the association between self-reported voice problems and voice disorders in the Korean adult population. Adjusting for covariates (age, sex, education level, job, smoking, alcohol drinking, thyroid disorders, pain and discomfort during the last 2 weeks), self-reported voice problems included independently associated functional voice disorders (OR=4.70, 95% CI: 3.14-7.03) and organic voice disorders (OR=3.89, 95% CI: 1.57-9.65). The results of the present study verified that self-reported voice problems are valuable indicators for voice disorders. Further research is needed to ascertain the effect of self-reported voice problems on voice disorder in adults.

  • We presents an hazard zonation mapping technique in karst terrain and its assessment. From the detailed engineering geological mapping. Controlling factors of sink hole and limestone cave formation were discussed and 4 main hazard factors affecting hazard potential are identified as follows: prerequisite hazard factor(distributions of pre-existing sink holes and cavities), geomorphological hazard factors(slope gradient, vegetation, and drainage pattern etc.) geological hazard factors(lithology, fracture patterns and geological structures etc.) and hydraulic conditions(hydraulic head, annual fluctuation of ground water table and composition of g/w water). From the construction of hazard zonation map along the Jecheon-Maepo area, and vertical cross-sectional hazard zonations specific tunnel site we suggest hazard zonation rating systems.

  • The vegetation in the surrounding area of river is a primary factor to increase water level during flood. The influence of vegetation on the river flow in a bank has been investigated by using a hydraulic experiment. For a hydraulic experiment square-shaped piers are used as a model of unsubmerged rigid vegetation in a open channel. For fully developed uniform flows, the water elevation of the experiment was measured as varying the interval of piers and the porosity which presents the fraction of water flowing area in the cross-sectional area. The Manning's roughness coefficient, which implicates energy losses due to the vegetation, was obtained by using the experimental data. As a result, the energy losses were varied when the distance of piers and the porosity of area were changed, and the Manning's coefficient increased nonlinearly when a water elevation increased.

  • In this study, design technology of a non-mechanical flow meter using fluidic oscillation generated during the fluid flow in the chamber was investigated. To with respect to design a splitter, which is the most important factor in fluid oscillation, a transient flow simulation analysis was performed for three types of shapes and changes in inlet flow velocity. The oscillation characteristics with respect to the time in each case were compared, and it was confirmed that the SM03 model was the best among the presented models. In addition, the FFT analysis of the fluid oscillation results for the SM03 model was used to obtain a linear correlation between the flow velocity change and the maximum frequency, and a frequency of 20.957 (Hz/m/s) per unit flow velocity was obtained. Finally, injection molding simulation and molding experiment of the chamber with the designed splitter were performed.

  • This study is positive research to figure out enculturation types and to analysis influence of enculturation types on life's satisfaction of the marriage immigrant women. By precedent study, enculturation types was classified by integration factor, separation factor, assimilation factor and marginalization factor. To achieve objectives of study, we carried out sampling, survey and statistical analysis. According to result of study, integration factor and assimilation factor were appeared positive influence and separation factor was appeared negative influence statistically on quality of life of them. Therefore for quality of life of the marriage immigrant women, it need to develop interact system with native persons, support opportunity to associate with koreans, and promote fair treatment and interaction of koreans for them. And government have to execute multiculturalism policy more than assimilation policy. this study have that was samples's regional limitation, few variables limitation, and cross-sectional research's limitation. Therefor it needs more wide and depth research than this for future.

  • In order to examine flow characteristics according to the shape of the meandering low flow channel in the compound cross section typed straight channel, we assumed the representative channel type in Korea and confirmed the validity of the 3D numerical simulation by carrying out the hydraulic model. Based on this study, numerical simulations were also conducted on other types of river channel. As a result of the numerical model test (using the velocity value measured by the water depth observation from the hydraulic model test), it was confirmed that the numerical simulation results are in good agreement with the numerical simulation results. As a result of analyzing the flow field according to the changes in the shape of the low flow channel, it was confirmed that the secondary flow examined in the previous studies occurred. Also, it was confirmed that the maximum flow velocity point moves according to the expansion cross sectional area of flow in high flow plain. Ultimately, it is thought that it is necessary to understand the position of the water impingement (which is an important factor in river design) and the extent of the impact because the change of the channel width affects the flow.
