고강도 콘크리트 기둥의 거동에 미치는 콘크리트 강도와 띠철근의 영향 (Influence of Concrete Strength and Lateral Ties on Behavior of High-Strength Concrete Columns)

  • This study was focused on the effect of concrete strength and lateral ties of concrete columns using high-strength concrete. Thirty-six concrete columns with 20cm square cross-section were tested. Experimental parameters included the concrete strength, the distribution of longitudinal bars and the volumetric ratio, yield strength, spacing of lateral ties. From the experiments, we found that: 1) the increasing rate of the strength and ductility of concrete columns caused by confinement of lateral ties was decreasing, as the concrete strength increased. 2) The high volumetric ratio and the reduction of tie spacing had a tendency to enhance the strength and improve the ductility. 3) The high-strength concrete columns required high volumetric ratio of lateral ties to maintain the proper strength and ductility. It was observed that the current AIK design code to specify the maximum tie spacing of high-strength concrete columns led to the poor strength and ductility for seismic design.

Optimization and investigations of low-velocity bending impact of thin-walled beams

  • In the present study, the effect of geometrical parameters of two different types of aluminum thin-walled structures on energy absorption under three-bending impact loading has been investigated experimentally and numerically. To evaluate the effect of parameters on the specific energy absorption (SEA), initial peak crushing force (IPCF), and the maximum crushing distance (δ), a design of experiment technique (DOE) with response surface method (RSM) was applied. Four different thin-walled structures have been tested under the low-velocity impact, and then they have simulated by ABAQUS software. An acceptable consistency between the numerical and experimental results was obtained. In this study, statistical analysis has been performed on various parameters of three different types of tubes. In the first and the second statistical analysis, the dimensional parameters of the cross-section, the number of holes, and the dimensional parameter of holes were considered as the design variables. The diameter reduction rate and the number of sections with different diameters are related to the third statistical analysis. All design points of the statistical method have been simulated by the finite element package, ABAQUS/Explicit. The final result shows that the height and thickness of tubes were more effective than other geometrical parameters, and despite the fact that the deformations of the cylindrical tubes were around forty percent greater than the rectangular tubes, the top desirability was relevant to the cylindrical tubes with reduced cross-sections.

복합재료로 만들어진 단순지지 샌드위치 슬래브 교량의 파괴강도해석 (Failure Strength Analysis of Simply Supported Sandwich Slab Bridges made by Composite Materials)

  • 본 논문에서는 복합재료로 만들어진 단순지지된 샌드위치 슬래브 교량의 설계 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 거더나 가로보를 포함한 대부분의 교량시스템에서 교량 상판은 특별직교이방성판으로 거동한다. 이러한 단면을 갖는 시스템은 Navier 해법이나 Levy 해법 형태와는 다른 경계조건 또는 불규칙한 단면을 갖게 되어 해석적 해법을 얻기가 쉽지 않다. 이러한 문제를 해석하기 위하여 유한차분법이 이용되었다. 복합재료로 이루어진 교량을 설계하기위하여, 단면은 가장 경제적이면서 응력에 유리한 폼코어 형태를 채택하였고, 응력을 산출함에 있어서는 유한차분법 프로그램을 이용하였다. 복합신소재 특수기술자의 실험을 기초로 질량이 증가에 따른 파이버의 인장강도 감소를 나타내는 공식을 도출하였다. 이 공식으로부터 치수 증가에 따른 인장강도 감소량을 구 할 수 있다. 파괴강도는 Tasi-Wu의 파괴강도이론을 이용하였다. 파괴강도해석은 본 논문에서 제시하고 있는 인장강도의 감소를 고려하여 제시하였다.

The comparison of radial and axial flow porous burners from viewpoint of output radiative heat transfer and emissions

  • In this paper, two types of porous burners with radial and axial flow have been modeled numerically and compared. For this purpose, governing equations were solved one-dimensionally for methane-air premix gas. The mechanism used in simulating combustion phenomenon was 15 stage reduced mechanism based on GRI3.0. In order to compare the two burners, the inlet flow rate and fuel-air ratio have been assumed equal for the two burners. The results of the study indicated that reduction in speed and increase in cross-section area in the direction of flow have a considerable influence on the behavior of radial burner in comparison to axial burner. Regarding temperature distribution inside the burner, it was observed that the two above mentioned factors can be influential in temperature of flame propagation region. Also, regarding distribution of CO and NO emission, the results indicate that the porous radial burner has lower emissions in comparison to the axial once. The output radiative heat transfer efficiency of the two burners was also compared and in this case also even the radial porous burner was found to be preferable.

  • 구조물의 해석, 설계, 시공, 품질관리 등을 수립할 때 토목기술자는 경제적이며 효율적인 복합재료를 사용할 수 있다. 거더, 가로보, 콘크리트 상판으로 이루어진 교량시스템은 특별직교이방성 판으로 거동한다. 이러한 경계조건을 갖는 단면을 Navier 해 형태의 해석적 해를 구하기가 매우 어렵다. 복합재료로 이루어진 교량을 설계하기위하여, 단면은 가장 경제적이면서 응력에 유리한 폼코어 형태를 채택하였고, 응력을 산출함에 있어서는 유한차분법 프로그램을 사용하였다. 응력영역은 Tasi-Wu 파괴영역 기준을 이용하였다. 본 논문에서는 치수가 증가됨에 따른 인장강도 감소율을 고려하였다. 또한 이러한 경우에 대한 수치해석을 수행하였다.

FDM 3D Printer의 층간 충진율에 따른 강도변화 (Strength Variation with Inter-Layer Fill Factor of FDM 3D Printer)

  • Recently, FDM-type 3D printer technology has been developed, and efforts have been made to improve the output formability and characteristics further. Through this, 3D printers are used in various fields, and printer technologies are suggested according to usage, such as FDM, SLA, DLP, and SLM. In particular, the FDM method is the most widely used, and the FDM method technology is being developed further. The characteristics of the output are produced by the FDM-type 3D printer, which is determined by various factors, and particularly the perspective of the Inter-Layer Fill Factor, which is the volume ratio of the laminated material that exerts a direct influence. In this study, the Inter-Layer Fill Factor is theoretically obtained by presenting the internal space between each layer according to the laminate thickness as a cross-sectional shape model, and the cross section of the actual laminated sample is compared with the theoretical model through experiments. Then, the equation for the theoretical model is defined, and the strength change according to each condition (tensile strength of material, reduction slope, strength reduction rate, and output strength) is confirmed. In addition, we investigated the influence on the correlation and strength between laminate thickness and the Inter-Layer Fill Factor.

Novel ANFIS based SMC with Fractional Order PID Controller for Non Linear Interacting Coupled Spherical Tank System for Level Process

  • Interacting Spherical tank has maximum storage capacity is broadly utilized in industries because of its high storage capacity. This two tank level system has the nonlinear characteristics due to its varying surface area of cross section of tank. The challenging tasks in industries is to manage the flow rate of liquid. This proposed work plays a major role in controlling the liquid level in avoidance of time delay and error. Several researchers studied and investigated about reducing the nonlinearity problem and their approaches do not provide better result. Different types of controllers with various techniques are implemented by the proposed system. Intelligent Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) based Sliding Mode Controller (SMC) with Fractional order PID controller is a novel technique which is developed for a liquid level control in a interacting spherical tank system to avoid the external disturbances perform better result in terms of rise time, settling time and overshoot reduction. The performance of the proposed system is obtained by analyzing the simulation result obtained from the controller. The simulation results are obtained with the help of FOMCON toolbox with MATLAB 2018. Finally, the performance of the conventional controller (FOPID, PID-SMC) and proposed ANFIS based SMC-FOPID controllers are compared and analyzed the performance indices.

실린더 형상 변화가 실린더 주위 강제대류에 미치는 영향에 관한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Study on the Effect of the Cylinder Shape Modification on the Forced Convection Around a Circular Cylinder)

  • Direct numerical simulation are performed in order to investigate the effect of the circular cylinder shape on the forced convection around a circular cylinder at the Reynolds number of 300 and Prandtl number of 0.71. Three-dimensional characteristics of fluid flow and heat transfer around the smooth, wavy and torsional cylinders are investigated. A wavy cylinder has the sinusoidal variation in the cross sectional area along the spanwise direction with the wave length of ${\pi}/3$ and wavy amplitude of 0.1. A torsional cylinder has the twisted elliptic cross section with a torsional period of ${\pi}/2$ and an axis ratio of 1.35 corresponding to the major axis of 1.15 and the minor axis of 0.85. The value of time-and surface-averaged drag coefficient for the smooth cylinder is similar to that for the wavy cylinder, but larger than that for the torsional cylinder. The time and surface-averaged lift coefficient for the smooth cylinder is larger than that for the wavy and torsional cylinders. The time-averaged local heat transfer rate for the wavy and torsional cylinders shows different distribution along the circumferential direction, compared to that for the smooth cylinder because of the shape change in the spanwise direction for the cases of the wavy and torsional cylinders.

벽-유체의 상호작용을 고려한 유연관 내부 유동의 수치적 연구 (Numerical Analysis of the Flow in a Compliant Tube Considering Fluid-wall Interaction)

  • 본 연구에서는 정맥 등과 같은 혈관의 상황을 모사하기 위하여 선형적으로 벽 두께가 변하는 축 대칭 관의 벽면과 유동의 상호작용을 유한요소 방법으로 해석하였다. 사용한 유한요소 상용 소프트웨어(ADINA)의 타당성을 검증하기 위해서 막힘이 있는 혈관에서의 벽과 혈류의 상호작용을 해석하고 이를 기존의 실험결과와 비교하였다. 또한 2차원 신축 벽을 가지는 평판 사이의 유체 유동에 대한 결과를 기존 연구결과와 비교하였다. 축대칭 문제의 경우, 입구의 압력은 일정하게 유지하면서 출구 압력을 감소시켜 나간다. 출구 압력의 감소에 따라, 유량은 증가하며, 관내 유로의 단면적은 감소한다. speed index(평균속도를 파의 속도로 나눈 값)가 1 근방에서 유량은 최대가 되며, 유로 단면적이 최소가 된다. 그리고 출구압력이 좀 더 감소하면 유량은 오히려 줄어든다. 이와 같은 현상을 유동제한(flow limitation) 혹은 초킹(choking)이라 하는데, 폐의 기도(airway) 및 모세혈관, 그리고 이외의 여러 정맥들에서 자주 발생하는 폭포효과의 원인이 된다. 상류벽 두께와 하류 벽두께의 비가 2 일 경우에는 하류쪽에서 목(area throat)이 형성되며 이 비가 3일 경우에는 상류 쪽으로 이동하는데 하류 벽면의 강성(stiffness)이 상류 쪽에 비해 강하게 되어서 상류 쪽에서 먼저 붕괴가 일어나기 때문이다.

독신모가구 빈곤의 거시적 결정요인 국제비교 - 한국을 포함한 OECD 19개국을 대상으로(1981-2012) - (Comparative Study on The Macro Causes of Single-Mother Households Poverty And Implications on Korea - Focusing on OECD 19 Countries Including Korea(1980-2012) -)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 한국을 포함한 OECD 주요국을 대상으로 사회구조적 요인, 복지제도, 노동시장 및 정치제도 등 독신모가구 빈곤의 국가 간 다양성에 영향을 끼치는 거시적 원인을 규명하는 것이다. 1981년부터 2012년 기간에 대해 불균형패널설계(unbalanced panel design)방법을 적용한 결합시계열회귀분석을 실시했다. 연구결과 독신모가구의 빈곤율은 국가 간 다양성이 현저했다. 1인당GDP는 빈곤위험감소에 기여하지 못했고, 여성고용율과 15세미만 아동비율은 빈곤위험을 증가시켰다. 전체사회복지지출, 아동에 대한 현금지출, 노조조직률, 정규직에 대한 고용보호, 비례대표선거제도, 누적좌파내각, 누적여성의석수는 독신모가구의 빈곤위험을 감소시키는 요인으로 나타났다. 한국은 경제성장 일변도와 노동시장유연화 위주의 탈빈곤전략에서 탈피해 보편적 복지제도, 아동에 대한 복지급여와 일-가정양립정책을 확대할 필요가 있다. 나아가 노조조직률향상과 고용보호확대 등 조정된 노동시장제도를 설계하고, 비례대표선거제도 등 합의제정치모델을 도입해 좌파정치세력과 여성의 정치적 대표성을 확립할 필요가 있다.
