Studies on geographical distributions and relative population densities of the vector mites of tsutsugamushi disease were carried out in October 1996 at 12 locations of the mid south inland of the Korean peninsula, where chigger mites have been never studied. Of 177 field rodents and insectivores collected. 154 (87.0%) were Apodemus ngrarius. Total 25,707 chigger mites were collected and 14 species were identified. of which Leptotrombidium pnllidum was predominant (79.8%) and L. palpate the next (8.9%) . L. pallidum, the vector species, was widely distributed in all study areas, showing the highest density at Cho-o 2-dong, Sangju-si (chigger index 201.8), and the lowest at Tanwol-dong. Chungiu-si (chigger index 40.7) . The other vector species, L. scutellare was found only at the southern part of the study area such as Yobae and Mipyong, Kumrung gun and Vnsu , Kimchon-si. The northernmost areas of the L. scutellcre distribution were coincided with the areas where actual mean air temperature is above 10.0%. Among 157 A. ograrius sera tested, 48.3% was Karp, 1.7% william and 3.3% Kuroki. The rest of the sera were not able to determine the sexto-type because of the cross antigen-antibody reactions among the tested sero-types.
Recently, as word embedding has shown excellent performance in various tasks of deep learning-based natural language processing, researches on the advancement and application of word, sentence, and document embedding are being actively conducted. Among them, cross-language transfer, which enables semantic exchange between different languages, is growing simultaneously with the development of embedding models. Academia's interests in vector alignment are growing with the expectation that it can be applied to various embedding-based analysis. In particular, vector alignment is expected to be applied to mapping between specialized domains and generalized domains. In other words, it is expected that it will be possible to map the vocabulary of specialized fields such as R&D, medicine, and law into the space of the pre-trained language model learned with huge volume of general-purpose documents, or provide a clue for mapping vocabulary between mutually different specialized fields. However, since linear-based vector alignment which has been mainly studied in academia basically assumes statistical linearity, it tends to simplify the vector space. This essentially assumes that different types of vector spaces are geometrically similar, which yields a limitation that it causes inevitable distortion in the alignment process. To overcome this limitation, we propose a deep learning-based vector alignment methodology that effectively learns the nonlinearity of data. The proposed methodology consists of sequential learning of a skip-connected autoencoder and a regression model to align the specialized word embedding expressed in each space to the general embedding space. Finally, through the inference of the two trained models, the specialized vocabulary can be aligned in the general space. To verify the performance of the proposed methodology, an experiment was performed on a total of 77,578 documents in the field of 'health care' among national R&D tasks performed from 2011 to 2020. As a result, it was confirmed that the proposed methodology showed superior performance in terms of cosine similarity compared to the existing linear vector alignment.

A process of 3-D particle image velocimetry, called here, as '3-D stereo PIV' was developed for the measurement of an illuminated slied section field of 3-D complex flows. The present method includes modeling of camera by a calibrator based on the homogeneous coordinate system, transfromation of the oblique-angled image to the right-angled image, identification of 2-D velocity vectors by 2-D cross-correlation equation, stereo matching of 2-D velocity vectors of two cameras, accurate calculation of 3-D velocity vectors by homogeneous coordinate system, removal of error vectors by a statistical method followed by a continuity equation criterior, and finally 3-D animation as the post processing. An experimental system was also used for the application of the proposed method. Three analog CCD cameras and an Argon-Ion Laser(300mW) for illumination were adopted to capture the wake flow behind a bluff obstacle.

In this paper, dielectric slab loaded cylindrical cavity resonator measurement technique is presented to determine the dielectric constant of a dielectric material. The dielectric constant is measured by the resonant frequency deviation of empty and dielectric slab loaded cavity. Characteristic equations are derived by th exact field analysis. The measurement configurations are formed using HP8719A vector network analyzer and an experimental cylindrical metallic cavity with circular cross-section. The validity of the theory is confirmed by experiments and CST MWS 4.0(3D simulator). The results were in the whole satisfactory. The measured dielectric constant of teflon and bakelite are 2.03 and 4.44, respectively.
In this paper the geometrically nonlinear continuum plate finite element model, hitherto not reported in the literature, is developed using the total Lagrange formulation. With the layerwise displacement field of Reddy, nonlinear Green-Lagrange small strain large displacements relations (in the von Karman sense) and linear elastic orthotropic material properties for each lamina, the 3D elasticity equations are reduced to 2D problem and the nonlinear equilibrium integral form is obtained. By performing the linearization on nonlinear integral form and then the discretization on linearized integral form, tangent stiffness matrix is obtained with less manipulation and in more consistent form, compared to the one obtained using laminated element approach. Symmetric tangent stiffness matrixes, together with internal force vector are then utilized in Newton Raphson's method for the numerical solution of nonlinear incremental finite element equilibrium equations. Despite of its complex layer dependent numerical nature, the present model has no shear locking problems, compared to ESL (Equivalent Single Layer) models, or aspect ratio problems, as the 3D finite element may have when analyzing thin plate behavior. The originally coded MATLAB computer program for the finite element solution is used to verify the accuracy of the numerical model, by calculating nonlinear response of plates with different mechanical properties, which are isotropic, orthotropic and anisotropic (cross ply and angle ply), different plate thickness, different boundary conditions and different load direction (unloading/loading). The obtained results are compared with available results from the literature and the linear solutions from the author's previous papers.
The mapping of dark matter clustering from real to redshift spaces introduces the anisotropic property to the measured density power spectrum in redshift space, known as the Redshift Space Distortion (hereafter RSD) effect. The mapping formula is intrinsically non-linear, which is complicated by the higher order polynomials due to the indefinite cross correlations between the density and velocity fields, and the Finger-of-God (hereafter FoG) effect due to the randomness of the peculiar velocity field. Furthermore, the rigorous test of this mapping formula is contaminated by the unknown non-linearity of the density and velocity fields, including their auto- and cross-correlations, for calculating which our theoretical calculation breaks down beyond some scales. Whilst the full higher order polynomials remains unknown, the other systematics can be controlled consistently within the same order truncation in the expansion of the mapping formula, as shown in this paper. The systematic due to the unknown non-linear density and velocity fields is removed by separately measuring all terms in the expansion using simulations. The uncertainty caused by the velocity randomness is controlled by splitting the FoG term into two pieces, 1) the non-local FoG term being independent of the separation vector between two different points, and 2) the local FoG term appearing as an indefinite polynomials which is expanded in the same order as all other perturbative polynomials. Using 100 realizations of simulations, we find that the best fitted non-local FoG function is Gaussian, with only one scale-independent free parameter, and that our new mapping formulation accurately reproduces the observed power spectrum in redshift space at the smallest scales by far, up to k ~ 0.3 h/Mpc, considering the resolution of future experiments.
In this study, waves and currents observed by acoustic AWAC, VECTOR and Aquadopp Profiler in Anmok coastal waters were analysed to account for the variability of wave and current and to understand the mechanism of sediment transport generated by wave-induced current in the surf-zone. The monthly variation of wave and residual currents were analysed and processed with long-term observed AWAC data at station W1, located at the water depth of about 18m measured during from February 2015 to September 2016. Wave-induced currents were also analysed with intensive field measurements such as wave, current, suspended sediment, and bathymetry data observed at the surf-zone during in winter and summer. The statistical result of wave data shows that high waves coming from NNE and NE in winter (DEC-FEB) are dominant due to strong winds from NE. But in the other season waves coming from NE and ENE are prevalent due to the seasonal winds from E and SE. The residual currents with southeastern direction parallel to the shoreline are dominant throughout a year except in winter showing in opposite direction. The speed of ebb-dominant southeastern residual currents decreasing from surface to the bottom is strong in summer and fall but weak in winter and spring. By analysing wave-induced current, we found that cross-shore current were generated by swell waves mainly in winter with incoming wave direction about $45^{\circ}$ normal to the shoreline. Depending on the direction of incoming waves, longshore currents in the surf-zone were separated to southeastern and northwestern flows in winter and summer respectively. The variation of observed currents near crescentic bars in the surf-zone shows different direction of longshore and cross-shore currents depending on incoming waves implying to the reason of beach erosion generating the beach cusp and sandbar migration during high waves at Anmok.
Using visible-near infrared(Vis-NIR) spectra combined with machine learning methods, the feasibility of quick and non-destructive classification of Convolvulaceae species was studied. The main aim of this study is to classify six Convolvulaceae species in the field in different geographical regions of South Korea using a handheld spectrometer. Spectra were taken at 1.5 nm intervals from the adaxial side of the leaves in the Vis-NIR spectral region between 400 and 1,075 nm. The obtained spectra were preprocessed with three different preprocessing methods to find the best preprocessing approach with the highest classification accuracy. Preprocessed spectra of the six Convolvulaceae sp. were provided as input for the machine learning analysis. After cross-validation, the classification accuracy of various combinations of preprocessing and modeling ranged between 43.4% and 98.6%. The combination of Savitzky-Golay and Support vector machine methods showed the highest classification accuracy of 98.6% for the discrimination of Convolvulaceae sp. The growth stage of the plants, different measuring locations, and the scanning position of leaves on the plant were some of the crucial factors that affected the outcomes in this investigation. We conclude that Vis-NIR spectroscopy, coupled with suitable preprocessing and machine learning approaches, can be used in the field to effectively discriminate Convolvulaceae sp. for effective weed monitoring and management.
Understanding of the two-dimensional velocity field is crucial in terms of analyzing various hydrodynamic and fluvial processes in the riverine environments. Until recently, many numerical models have played major roles of providing such velocity field instead of in-situ flow measurements, because there were limitations in instruments and methodologies suitable for efficiently measuring in the broad range of river reaches. In the last decades, however, the advent of modernized instrumentations started to revolutionize the flow measurements. Among others, acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCPs) became very promising especially for accurately assessing streamflow discharge, and they are also able to provide the detailed velocity field very efficiently. Thus it became possible to capture the velocity field only with field observations. Since most of ADCPs measurements have been mostly conducted in the cross-sectional lines despite their capabilities, it is still required to apply appropriate interpolation methods to obtain dense velocity field as likely as results from numerical simulations. However, anisotropic nature of the meandering river channel could have brought in the difficulties for applying simple spatial interpolation methods for handling dynamic flow velocity vector, since the flow direction continuously changes over the curvature of the channel shape. Without considering anisotropic characteristics in terms of the meandering, therefore, conventional interpolation methods such as IDW and Kriging possibly lead to erroneous results, when they dealt with velocity vectors in the meandering channel. Based on the consecutive ADCP cross-sectional measurements in the meandering river channel. For this purpose, the geographic coordinate with the measured ADCP velocity was converted from the conventional Cartesian coordinate (x, y) to a curvilinear coordinate (s, n). The results from application of A-VIM showed significant improvement in accuracy as much as 41.5% in RMSE.

Leading edge extension(LEX) in a highly swept shape applied to a delta wing features the modern air-fighters. The LEX vortices generated upon the upper surface of the wing at high angle of attack enhance the lift force of the delta wing by way of increased negative suction pressure over the surfaces. The present 3-D stereo PIV includes the Identification of 2-D cross-correlation equation, stereo matching of 2-D velocity vectors of two cameras, accurate calculation of 3-D velocity vectors by homogeneous coordinate system, removal of error vectors by a statistical method followed by a continuity equation criterion and so on. A delta wing model with or without LEX was immersed in a circulating water channel. Two high-resolution, high-speed digital cameras$(1280pixel\times1024pixel)$ were used to allow the time-resolved animation work. The present dynamic stereo PIV represents the complicated vortex behavior, especially, in terms of time-dependent characteristics of the vortices at given measuring sections. Quantities such as three velocity vector components, vorticity and other flow information can be easily visualized via the 3D time-resolved post-processing to make the easy understanding of the LEX effect or vortex emerging and collapse which are important phenomena occurring in the field of delta wing aerodynamics.
