  • A knowledge of the accurate characteristic impedance of a GTEM cell is very useful to design it. This paper discusses the characteristic impedance of a GTEM cell applicable to both susceptibility and emission measurements, considering opening angle of it. The over-RGM for analysis is described : this numerical method is operated with respect to the spherical coordinate system. Some results are compared with others and the validity of this analysis is estabished. The characteristic impedances of a GTEM cell with the variation of geometrical constructions on cross section are presented ; the effect of the opening angle on the characteristic impedance is show. Finally, the electirc field uniformities on a cross section of a GTEM cell are considered for various opening angles.

  • In this study, graphene, the most attractive material today, has been applied to the wavelength-modulated surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor. The optical fiber sensor technology is the most fascinating topic because of its several benefits. In addition to this, the SPR phenomenon enables the detection of biomaterials to be label-free, highly sensitive, and accurate. Therefore, the optical fiber SPR sensor has powerful advantages to detect biomaterials. Meanwhile, Graphene shows superior mechanical, electrical, and optical characteristics, so that it has tremendous potential to be applied to any applications. Especially, grapheme has tighter confinement plasmon and relatively long propagation distances, so that it can enhance the light-matter interactions (F. H. L. Koppens, et al., Nano Lett., 2011). Accordingly, we coated graphene on the optical fiber probe which we fabricated to compose the wavelength-modulated SPR sensor (Figure 1.). The graphene film was synthesized via thermal chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process. Synthesized graphene was transferred on the core exposed region of fiber optic by lift-off method. Detected analytes were biotinylated double cross-over DNA structure (DXB) and Streptavidin (SA) as the ligand-receptor binding model. The preliminary results showed the SPR signal shifts for the DXB and SA binding rather than the concentration change.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to enhance the reliability of quality inspection by standardize the fineness test method of the thermal insulator of military textiles Methods: We have measured the thermal insulator of military textiles by microscope with three different ways and the effectiveness of their difference were analyzed by one-way layout design. Results: We have suggest the standardized the fineness test method of the thermal insulator of military textiles through advanced research. As a result we have verified hollow ratio of heat insulating fiber affect fineness test methods. The fineness test method for the thermal insulator applied with different methods following hollow ratio. We have verified that when the hollow ratio over 90%, the fineness of the thermal insulator measured from fiber-length, if it has over 80%, the cross-section length of hollow and if it has less 80%, the cross-section area of hollow is applied, respectively. Conclusion: This study indicated that the test method of fineness shows high reliability. Heat insulating fibers which have high evenness shows narrow variations(5/% or less, only CV 25%) irrespectively under different testing equipment or institute. Based ons the results, we have suggest the standardization of test methods for fineness by microscope method and produced the registration of Group Standard in Korean Standards Association.

  • Bioequivalence (BE) test of biphenyl dimethyl dicarboxylate (DDB) tablets was performed. Normal healthy male volunteers (n = 20) were randomly divided into 2 groups, and reference $(Nissel{\circledR})$ and test $(Livital{\circledR})$ tablets of DDB $(25mg{\times}8\;Tab.\;= \;200\;mg)$ were given orally by balanced two-period cross-over design. The serum concentration was determined by high performance liquid chromatography. The pharmacokinetic parameters, AUC, $C_{max}$, and $T_{max}$ obtained after drug administration were statistically analyzed. Statistical evaluation of the data involved an analysis of variance (ANOVA) for cross-over design. The results were within 20% differences of mean value in AUC, $C_{max}$, and $T_{max}$ between reference and test tablets. The results of ANOVA showed no significant differences for "between group or subject" and "period". The test tablet was bioequivalent with the reference tablet in the AUC, $C_{max}$, and $T_{max}$.

  • Objectives: The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of smoking on the skin bio-electrical capacitance at twelve source points. Methods: Twenty healthy male subjects were assigned to smoking and sham-smoking by a random cross-over design. Skin bio-electrical capacitance was measured at twelve source points for 10 minutes before and after smoking. The change of skin bio-electrical capacitance was analysed. Results: 1. The skin bio-electrical capacitance at LU9, PC7 and LR3 was significantly increased after smoking. 2. In the smoking group, the skin bio-electrical capacitance at the source points of Hand Yin meridians significantly increased compared to that of Foot Yin and Hand Yang meridians. Conclusions: Smoking significantly increased the skin bio-electrical capacitance at the source points of Lung, Pericardium and Liver meridians. Hand Yin meridians appear to be more vulnerable to smoking than other meridians.

  • The objective of this study is the development of size discrete optimum design algorithm which is based on the GAs(genetic algorithms). The algorithm can perform size discrete optimum designs of space trusses. The developed algorithm was implemented in a computer program. For the optimum design, the objective function is the weight of space trusses and the constraints are limite state design codes(1998) and displacements. The basic search method for the optimum design is the GAs. The algorithm is known to be very efficient for the discrete optimization. This study solves the problem by introducing the GAs. The GAs consists of genetic process and evolutionary process. The genetic process selects the next design points based on the survivability of the current design points. The evolutionary process evaluates the survivability of the design points selected from the genetic process. In the genetic process of the simple GAs, there are three basic operators: reproduction, cross-over, and mutation operators. The efficiency and validity of the developed discrete optimum design algorithm was verified by applying GAs to optimum design examples.

  • Even though two different preparations are chemically equivalent, the variance of bioavailability differenciates the clinical effect of preparations, so that the preparations need to be evaluated by comparing bioavailability in vivo as well as chemical equivalence. In this study, bioequivalence tests of commercially available isoniazid tablets A, B, C and D (standard) were performed to give some guidelines to bioequivalence test. The bioavailability parameters obtained by drug administeration were statistically analyzed. Statistical evaluation of the data involved an analysis of variance for a cross over design. Cross over design was employed with 8 healthy volunteers. The results were within 20% difference of mean value in the AUC, Cmax, Tmax and amount of urinary excretion (Au) between standard and isoniazid tablets. The results of ANOVA showed no significant differences for 'group or sequence', but almost not for 'between subjects'. The tablet. A, B and D were within 20 min, but tablet C was within 50 min. Tablet A was biologically equivalent in the Au. tablet B biologically equivalent in the Au and AUC. Tablet C was biologically equivalent in the Au. The relationship between the dissolution rate and Au was significant.

  • In this paper, for signal integrity analysing high-speed signal between a processor and a DDR2 memory, transient analysis is done and eye diagrams are generated using IBIS models of IC chips and S-parameters of transmission line. From the eye diagrams of such high-speed signals as DQ, DQS/DQSb, Clock, Address and Control, signal quality is assured through measuring timing and voltage margins during setup and hold times and verifying that the over-/under-shoot and the cross points of differential signals satisfy their specifications.

  • The objective of this study is to compare the general body measurements and shoulder shapes of Korean and American elderly women to supply basic data for the apparel design. The anthropometrics data was collected including both direct and indirect measurements of 283 women over the age of 55 in Korean and the American women. The statistical methods used for the analysis of measurement data are the T-test, Exploratory data analysis, ANOVA and Duncan-test respectively. The results of the T-test indicated that there is a significant difference in the 14 body measurement items except of waist circumference. The results of exploratory data analysis, an independent relationship between shoulder slope angle and forward shoulder roll of Korean women. On the other hand, there is a dependent relationship that the bigger shoulder slope and forward shoulder roll with wide cross back shoulder of American women. Comparison of mean among the three different age groups, aged 55~59 group shows significant differences in the value of difference between cross back shoulders and horizontal shoulder width. This finding indicates that the wide and forward roll shoulder needs to special pattern making like ease amount and curvature for fit and comfort for women's apparel.
