The third sex implying a mismatch between sex and gender has been regarded as an extreme socio-cultural violation. In its earlier version, such a violation was expressed by cross-dressing; Women's cross-dressing was thought to invoke eroticism, while men's cross-dressing was considered comic or delinquent. However, as feminism developed more with the homosexual identity expressed openly, the third sex began to be visual. Thus, in 1990's, some homosexual monies began to develop to be pluralized enough to suggest the third sex and thereby, change the negative sex into a positive one. In this study, such a pluralization is discussed in terms of invisibility, dichotomy and androgyny. The cross-dressing movies show females in male attire or males in female attire to reflect the third sex. The cross-dressing may be divided into men's playful cross-dressing, women's political cross-dressing and homosexuals'cross-dressing or 'drag'. Gender identity is not an attribute fixed by some physical characteristics, but it tends to be changed or expanded by some social factors over time. In short, it may be a flexible, plural, individual and self-introspective attribute. Movies present diverse types of gender identities, and in particular, the movie costumes specify them. In other words, the costumes may be model means expressing the gender identities, and the gender identities shown in the movies tend to be imitated, re-created or assumed by the audience.

Water tree experiments were done for several types of cross-linked polyethylenes. Test method is followed by ASTM D6097. Polyethylene is divided for four subgroup. First One is chemically cross-linked general XLPE, and second one is chemically cross-linked tree-retardant XLPE, and the third one is silane cross-linked polyethylene made by monosil process, and the last one is silane cross-linked polythylene made by copolymer. Tree retardant XLPE shows the shortest water tree length. Cahemcally cross-linked general XLPE shows the longest water tree length. Silane cross-linked polyethylene by copolymer is similar to tree retardant XLPE and similar breakdown strength. So silane cross-linked XLPE by copolymer could be used for the the medium voltage cable which should have tree retardant characteristics.
The binding of heavy metal ions onto cross-linked chitosan in dilute aqueous solution has been investigated as a function of pH (4.0 and 7.0), agitation period (10-180min) and concentration of various metal cations (5, 10, 50 and 100ppm). In order to obtain adsorbents that are insoluble and stable, and prevent the dissolution loss of chitosan into an acidic aqueous solution, chitosan flakes were cross-linked with epichlorohydrine (ECH) and its adsorption behavior was compared with that of the non cross-linked chitosan. An advantage of ECH is that it does not eliminate the cationic amine functional group of chitosan. In terms of adsorption ratio, the chitosan cross-linked at an ECH was inferior to original chitosan and was found that chitosan has a selectivity much remarkable than the cross-linked chitosan in low concentrated metal solutions. However, no significant decreases in the adsorption ratios were observed between the cross-linked ECH-chitosan and the non cross-linked chitosan concerning the adsorption of $Ni^{2+}$, $Co^{2+}$, $Pb^{2+}$ and $Zn^{2+}$ acidic solution.

Recently simulation model becomes an essential tool for analysis and design of a system but it is often expensive and time consuming as it becomes complicate to achieve reliable results. Therefore, high-fidelity simulation model needs to be replaced by an approximate model, the so-called metamodel. Metamodeling techniques include 3 components of sampling, metamodel and validation. Cross-validation approach has been proposed to provide sequnatially new sample point based on cross-validation error but it is very expensive because cross-validation must be evaluated at each stage. To enhance the cross-validation of metamodel, sequential sampling method using candidate points and representative cross-validation is proposed in this paper. The candidate and representative cross-validation approach of sequential sampling is illustrated for two-dimensional domain. To verify the performance of the suggested sampling technique, we compare the accuracy of the metamodels for various mathematical functions with that obtained by conventional sequential sampling strategies such as maximum distance, mean squared error, and maximum entropy sequential samplings. Through this research we team that the proposed approach is computationally inexpensive and provides good prediction performance.
The present study of these experiments are close examination of spray characteristics that are continuous liquid jet and modulated pressure pulse liquid jet. The experiments were conducted using water, over a range of cross-flow velocities from 42${\sim}$136 m/s, with injection frequencies of 35.7${\sim}$166.2 Hz. Between continuous cross-flow jet and pressure pulsed cross-flow jet for characteristics of penetration, breakup point, spray angle and macro spray shape are investigated experimentally. In cross-flow field, main parameter of liquid jet for breakup was cross-flow stream rather than pressure pulse frequency. As oscillation of the periodic pressure that could make liquid jet moved up and down, the mixing efficiency was increased. Also, a bulk of liquid jet puff was detected at upper field of liquid surface. So, this phenomenon has a good advantage of mixing spray from concentration of center area to outer area. Because of pressure pulsation frequency, an inclination of SMD for the structured layer was evanescent. Cross-sectional characteristics of SMD at downstream area were non-structured distributions. Then cross-sectional characteristics of SMD size were about same tendency over a range that is effect of spray mixing. The tendency of volume flux value for various frequency of pressure pulse was same distribution. And volume flux was decreased when the frequency of pressure pulse increase.
We have investigated the luster of modified cross-sectional fiber fabrics as one of the essential quality estimates for clothing development. We have confirmed an objective evaluation method, and have determined the experimental luster characteristics of modified cross-section fibers. The cross-section of the fibers in a fabric affects the appearance of a textile. We used the image analysis method to investigate the luster to determine the critical factors influencing the appearance of modified cross-section fiber fabrics. For similarly structured textiles in a component fabric, clear differences were observed in the fabric weave, density, percentage, and total area of blobs, which is image region. Color played a decisive role in the luster of the textiles, and luster was not significantly influenced by the modified cross-section fabric weave. In addition, the degree of luster did not increase in the order plain to twill to satin for modified cross-sectional fiber fabrics. All the split-type microfibers exhibited higher numerical luster values (percentage of pixels, and number and total area of blobs) than sea-island microfibers did. The degree of luster of the modified cross-sectional fiber fabrics was not high at specular reflection angles.
The effect of element interaction and material nonlinearity on the ultimate capacity of stainless steel plated cross-sections is investigated in this paper. The focus of the research lies in cross-sections failing by local buckling; member instabilities, distortional buckling and interactions thereof with local buckling are not considered. The cross-sections investigated include rectangular hollow sections (RHS), I sections and parallel flange channels (PFC). Based on previous finite element investigations of structural stainless steel stub columns, parametric studies were conducted and the ultimate capacity of the aforementioned cross-sections with a range of element slendernesses and aspect ratios has been obtained. Various design methods, including the effective width approach, the direct strength method (DSM), the continuous strength method (CSM) and a design method based on regression analysis, which accounts for element interaction, were assessed on the basis of the numerical results, and the relative merits and weaknesses of each design approach have been highlighted. Element interaction has been shown to be significant for slender cross-sections, whilst the behaviour of stocky cross-sections is more strongly influenced by the material strain-hardening characteristics. A modification to the continuous strength method has been proposed to allow for the effect of element interaction, which leads to more reliable ultimate capacity predictions. Comparisons with available test data have also been made to demonstrate the enhanced accuracy of the proposed method and its suitability for the treatment of local buckling in stainless steel cross-sections.

This investigation was carried out for the purpose of studying the turbulent flow and mixing characteristics after collision of two jets depending upon the cross angle variations. For effectuating this experimental study, a subsonic wind tunnel and a constant temperature type two channel hot-wire anemometer system have been utilized. The jets issuing from two nozzles have same Reynolds numbers and their cross angle was variable. After collision of two jets, the cross section of the mixing flow, mean and fluctuating velocities and Reynolds stresses have been measured, and analyzed comparing them with semi-empirical equations. It was found that the nondirectional contour of the cross section agreed well with an elliptic formula and the mean velocities along the centerline had a good similarity independent of cross angle variations. The distributions of U over bar-components measured in the Y direction have a good similarity and agree well with semi-empirical equations of Hinze and Gortler. The Reynolds stresses of u'v' over bar on the Y axis show a similar distributions and their agreement with the theoretical curve is remarkable but those of u'w' over bar measured along the Z axis are randomly scattered.
This paper interrogates the theoretical foundations of Cross-Cultural Studies across the Social Sciences through an examination of the field ELT. Through an examination of ELT's major theoretical and pedagogical moves, this paper illustrates how ELT is by nature a field of cross-Cultural Studies. A closer examination of the history of ELT shows how the colonial genesis of the field indicates a skewed representation of power between native English speaking nations and non-native speaking nations both in terms of academic theories and pedagogies, as well as socio-cultural relations of power. A further analysis of how the field theorizes and represents various relations of power between disparate cultures in ELT literature explicates the dilemma of the objectivity and neutrality of Cross-Cultural research in ELT. In doing so, the analyses included in this paper thus necessarily raises questions regarding the theoretical foundations of research methodologies of Cross-Cultural Studies in terms of the reflexivity of researchers and the problematic of how, or if, relations of power are included in the studies. This paper questions whether studies that do not include these research perspectives properly represent the disparate cultures under study, or are more of a biased, or Orientalized (Said, 1979) interpretation of cultures.
With the expansion of various distribution channels in online and offline stores, TV, and mobile, consumers now have more information search and retail selection channels to choose from than ever before. Major retailers now use multi- and omni-channel strategies. This study focused on cross-channel consumption, which involves the use of different information search and purchase channels. Using cross-channel consumption, consumers can search for information online and then make purchases offline and vice versa. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between channel strategies and other consumer variables, and the study also assessed the effect of product type. To conduct this empirical study, the researchers developed a consumer questionnaire concerning three consumer channel strategies-on-on, cross, and off-off-and four product categories-clothing, cosmetics, books, and electronics. The results indicated that gender and marital status did not influence consumer channel strategies, but that age did have a significant influence. The analysis showed that consumers in their 40s preferred the cross channel strategy, perceiving it to be effective, satisfactory, and rewarding. Compared to other products, clothing products showed higher levels of cross channel strategies. Consumers indicated that they prefer searching for information online and then purchasing clothing offline. Overall, clothing products generated higher levels of channel satisfaction and channel switch intentions. Cross-channel clothing shoppers reported effective information retrieval times but longer delivery times.
