Mediating Effect of Challenging Work in the Relationship between Cognitive Style and Creative Action in Clinical Nurses (임상간호사의 인지스타일과 창의적 행동 간에 직무 도전성의 매개효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship among cognitive style, creative action, and challenging work and then determine whether challenging work has a mediating effect between cognitive style and creative action. Methods: Data were collected from a convenience sample of 275 clinical nurses who graduated from 3-year nursing schools and worked in hospitals in Seoul or Kyungki Province. The questionnaire included measurements of cognitive style, creative action and challenging work. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, T-test, ANOVA, Duncan test, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results: Mean scores for cognitive style, creative style, and challenging work were $3.28{\pm}0.42$, $3.22{\pm}0.57$, $3.40{\pm}0.63$, respectively. Significant correlations were found between cognitive style and challenging work, cognitive style and creative action, and challenging work and creative action. Cognitive style was significantly different according to years in clinical career, and in hospital size. Challenging work was significantly different according to age and position. Creative action was significantly different according to years in clinical career. Finally challenging work had a mediating effect between cognitive style and creative action. Conclusion: Findings from this study provide a comprehensive understanding of challenging work for clinical nurses and indicate related factors and importance.

Fashion Styles and Characteristics of Game Characters (게임캐릭터의 패션스타일 유형 및 특성)

  • This paper aims to propose the typology suitable for games by analyzing the fashion styles of game characters and define the characteristics by type. The data collected was classified into the style groups with similarities, and the game character styles were named using representative terms. Then, five styles were identified and analyzed with the focus on clothing, hairstyle, and accessories: Creative Style, Attractive Style, Grotesque Style, Usual Style, and Suit Style. Creative Style was the unique style with partial addition or removal as the creative design. Attractive Style expressed the sexual attraction by design with significant exposure of body parts and skintight design. Grotesque Style showed grotesque, eerie, and dreary design. Usual Style was a plain and practical style. Finally, Suit Style was a kind of armor covering the whole body. The analysis results in this paper will bridge the difference of opinions between gamers and developers related to fashion style and, finally, help to enhance the competitiveness of game design.

Analyzing Types of Styling through Character Customization Games (캐릭터 커스터마이징 게임에 나타난 유형별 스타일링 분석)

  • The styles by character type in customizing systems were analyzed, being classified into creative style, attractive style, grotesque style, usual style, and suit style on the basis of the 'fashion style types of game characters' proposed in the previous research. The creative and convergent designs that couldn't be implemented in reality were expressed in various forms because those designs were created in virtual space, one feature of games. The analysis of the fashion styles of characters was focused on the RPG using the characters with exaggerated body proportions beyond the general body proportions in reality and the features on game characters that were identified by gamers. Thus, the creative style and attractive style showed a high frequency. The common features were identified because the costume designs and colors for characters are generally selected in accordance with the gamers' requests or by reflecting the view on the world. However, it was difficult to find out the representative cases for hair designs and colors because of excessively diverse expressions. The results of this paper will be a valuable reference for the research on the fashion item development manual satisfying the gamers' personalities and requests and relevant research.

A Study on the Design and Style of Burberry Men's Wear through the Replacement of Creative Directors (크리에이티브 디렉터 교체에 따른 버버리 남성복 디자인 및 스타일 연구)

  • This study compares and analyzes the designs of Burberry creative directors, Christopher Bailey and Riccardo Tisci. For this purpose, 322 photographs (176 Christopher Bailey and 146 Riccardo Tisci) were collected and the data analysis criteria were classified into color, shape, material, decoration, item, and fashion style. With respect to the data analysis method, statistical analysis and content analysis were combined. First, the design characteristics of Christopher Bailey top and bottom combined bright tone, tone-in-tone color scheme, H-line, heterogeneous material combination, and smart casual appeared very frequently. Second, the design characteristics of Riccardo Tisci top and bottom combined were monotone, tone-on-tone color scheme, H-line, heterogeneous material combinations, and street culture. Third, the design differences between creative directors were significantly different in color, tone, color arrangement, pattern, material type, material combination, detail, top and bottom items, and fashion style. Burberry men's wear maintains Burberry's traditional design identity with achromatic colors, beige-based colors, and beige checks. Christopher Bailey's design direction is characterized by modernity in a casual mood that emphasizes practicality. The design direction of Riccardo Tisci is characterized by a wide gap between images in a semi-formal style that emphasizes Burberry's tradition and a free-spirited casual style.

  • On the threshold of year 2000, the elderly account for more than 7% of the whole population in Korea, which means that the nation is greeting welcoming an aging society. Accordingly, it is expected that silver businesses and services targeted at the silver generation will prosper with "silver advertising design" becoming active. Under such circumstances, this study was aimed at reviewing the recent silver marketing advertisements in terms of their cultural and moral implications, and thereby, redefining and reestablishing the status of silver consumers to help them find their identity, aware of marketing activities and therewith, establish their "consumer sovereignty". This study consists in large of 5 chapters. The introduction parr describes background, purpose, method and scope of the study. The first chapter reviews the silver marketing theories. The second chapter classifies the silver marketing advertisement positioning of four style - upper classes style, effloresce progress style, self- sufficiency style, dependent style - and reviews the expression strategy of each positioning. The third chapter examines the domestic conditions of silver marketing advertisements for each positioning type classified. The fourth chapter designs the ′creative′of silver marketing advertisements and suggests the methods thereof. The analysis of ′creative′was tested in terms of graphic gestaltung, and how the sliver marketing advertisement positioning should be discerned depending on silver generation consumer′s characteristics was discussed. The fifth chapter puts forwards the suggestions for the ′creative′ strategies to enhance the effects of the silver marketing advertisements, based on the preceding discussions. In addition, the Perspective into the keyword of 21 st century or "silver design" is discussed, together with the limitations of this study. It is hoped that this stuffy will be conducive to our efforts to face the upcoming′age\ulcorner society′more effectively. To this end, this study discusses the "silver advertising design" in light of ′societal concepts′and ′customer-oriented value′, and thus, explores some creative presentation strategies whereby individual companies interests and social or public interests can be compromised through ′creative activities′ and ′equal-value consumerism′ for an ultimately effective management strategies for silver businesses and services.

  • This study compared and analyzed the direction of Louis Vuitton creative directors Kim Jones and Virgil Abloh. Accordingly, 485 photos(251 Kim Jones, 234 Virgil Abloh) were collected. For data analysis, statistical and content analyses were combined. First, as for the overall design characteristics of creative director Kim Jones, complex colors, colorful barrels, tone-in-tone color schemes, H-line, plain fabrics, soft materials, heterogeneous material combinations, casual style. Second, as for the overall design characteristics of creative director Virgil Abloh, achromatic color, colorful tone, tone-on-tone color scheme, I-line, plain fabric, soft material, similar material combination, casual style. There were significant differences in color, tone, color scheme, silhouette, pattern, material type, material combination, fashion image, detail, trimming, top and bottom that differed in the creative directors' design direction. Therefore, it appears that Kim Jones has been directing the luxurious and unique men's wear through H-line, coat and slim pants, colorful color combination, soft material, heterogeneous material combination, plain fabric, and chic active sensibility. Meanwhile, Virgil Abloh is directing men's wear in a loose and trendy street mood through the I-line, jacket and wide pants, achromatic color, soft material, plain fabric, similar material combinations, and soft and sophisticated modern sensibility.

Representation Forms of Personal Style on the Fashion Blogs (패션블로그에서 퍼스널 스타일 표현형식)

  • This study aims to analyze the representation forms of bloggers' personal style on the fashion blogs and enlighten their values which can be actively applied to design and marketing in fashion industry. Image representation of fashion bloggers is reflected by the characteristics in the digital environment, which are the creative manipulation of expression and the production of virtual and fantastic images by taking advantage of the composite medium such as images, music, videos, articles, etc. Also real time updates in blog indicate the latest trends in terms of the representation of image as the actual currency. The study conducted case studies of 5 women's personal fashion blogs through the verification of a variety of global fashion media and blog ranking sites: Style Bubble, Style Rookie, The Cherry Blossom Girl, The Blond Salad, and Fashion Toast. Research findings are as follows. First, the application of creative design elements is indicated as symbolic items, self-made designs, DIY, and various mix and match emphasizing design elements such as color, patterns, proportion, etc. Second, the virtual representation is very highlighted on the story telling applied by film like production or digital effect. Third, the commercial application with mainly sponsored wardrobe and designer collaboration indicates promoting a updated trend as well as a specific brand or designer to make their business profits.

A Study on Influential Factors in Mathematics Modeling Academic Achievement

  • Utilizing the path analysis method, the study explores the relationships among the influential factors in mathematics modeling academic achievement. The following conclusions are drawn: 1. Achievement motivation, creative inclination, cognitive style, the mathematical cognitive structure and mathematics modeling self-monitoring ability, those have significant correlation with mathematics modeling academic achievement; 2. Mathematical cognitive structure and mathematics modeling self-monitoring ability have significant and regressive effect on mathematics modeling academic achievement, and two factors can explain 55.8% variations of mathematics modeling academic achievement; 3. Achievement motivation, creative inclination, cognitive style, mathematical cognitive structure have significant and regressive effect on mathematics modeling self-monitoring ability, and four factors can explain 70.1% variations of mathematics modeling self-monitoring ability; 4. Achievement motivation, creative inclination, and cognitive style have significant and regressive effect on mathematical cognitive structure, and three factors can explain 40.9% variations of mathematical cognitive structure.

  • This essay is a landscape of core values and relevant evidences about Creative Leadership in order to make sketches of Korean-style leadership framework. Glancing through this work, you can smell the distinctions of Korea creative leaders, particularly, in the aspects of procommunity pragmatism and ordinary innovation. Most Korea creative leaders were social mentors and masters who had enlarged their influences from the individual domain to social area in all the dimensions of human life. At the individual stage, the Creative Leadership suggests 'Jungki(正己)' as a core value of themselves, which is materialized as such competencies as self-assertiveness, observation and experimentation, and strong inquiry. Because most of them were technical masters dealing with new methodology and new knowledge including alchemy, medicine and weapons, the creative leaders show us very unique core values and competencies in the life sequences of the individuation, relationship, organization and community unlike other Korean-style leaderships and global practices. You can taste and compare these things: 'Kihyulsangtong(氣血相通)' as a core value and respect- for- others, style analysis, persuasion as core competencies in the stage of relationship, nextly, 'Suhshi(授時) & Jungeum(正音)' as a core value and coordination and adjustment, teamwork as core competencies in the stage of organization, finally, 'Hunmin(訓民) & Hwalin(活人)' as a core value and vision-building, social benefiting, ordinary innovation as core competencies in the stage of community. Creative Problem Solving Style, Self-leadership and Locus of Control in the Korean Engineering College Students (공대생들의 창의적 문제해결유형별 셀프리더십과 통제소재)

  • This study was conducted to compare the self-leadership strategies and locus of control between the problem-solving styles in the Korean engineering college students. Creative problem-solving styles were identified based on the three dimensions. The results of the two-way analysis of variances indicated the main effects of problem-solving styles; each problem-solving style had unique characteristics in relation to self-leadership strategies and locus of control. There were neither main effects of sex nor interaction effects of problem-solving styles and sex. It would be useful to provide the engineering students with the specialized self-leadership training program based on the problem-solving styles.
