원자로압력용기강에서 하중변수와 온도가 피로균열진전에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Loading Variables and Temperature on Fatigue Crack Propagation in SA508 Cl.3 Nuclear Pressure Vessel Steel)

  • SA508 Cl.3 원자로 압력용기강에서 하중변수와 온도가 공기 중에서 피로 균열성장률에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. 피로 균열성장률 시험은 12.7mm 두께의 CT(compact tension) 시편을 이용하였으며, 균열길이 추정은 컴플라이언스 방법을 사용하였다. 시험은 0.1, 0.5 하중비와 1, 10Hz의 하중주파수로 상온에서 40$0^{\circ}C$ 까지 온도를 변화시키면서 수행하였다. 12$0^{\circ}C$ 이하의 비교적 낮은 온도에서는 피로균열전파속도는 하중주파수와 온도에 영향을 받지 않았지만, 12$0^{\circ}C$이상의 경우 피로 균열성장률은 온도가 높을수록, 하중주파수가 낮을수록 증가하였다. 이러한 피로균열진전속도의 빨라짐은 균열선단에서의 산화속도의 증가로 인한것으로 생각된다. 또한 하중비의 영향으로 균열닫힘과 산화의 상호작용으로 피로 균열성장률은 상온에서 두드러졌다.

이온 실화처리한 Ni-Cr-Mo강의 저온파괴인성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Low Temperature Fracture Toughness of Ion-nitrided Ni-Cr-Mo Steel)

  • Fracture toughness characterization in the transition region is examined for heat-treated and ionnitrided Ni-Cr-Mo steel. After heat treatment for the specimens of Ni-Cr-Mo steel, organizations of specimens-specimens which are heat-treated and ion-nitrided for 4 hours at 500 .deg. C and 5 torr in 25%N/dub 2/-75%H/sub 2/mixed gas-, hardness variety, and X-ray diffraction pattern of the ion-nitriding compound layer are observed. Fracture toughenss test of unloading compliance method were conducted over the regions from room trmperature to -70.deg. C. The compound layer was consisted of r'=Fe/sub 4/N phase and ion-nitrided layer's depth was 200mm from surface. The transition regions of heat-treated and ion-nitrided specimens were about -30.deg. C and -50.deg. C, respectively. The transition region of ion-nitrided specimens is estimated less than that of heat-treated one, and this is the effect of ion-nitriding.

  • This study was to investigate the effects of stress ratio and anisotropy on Fatigue Crack Propagation(FCP) behavior of rolled magnesium alloy AZ31B. The experimental materials were a Mg-Al-Zn magnesium alloy. The FCP test was conducted on compact tension specimen by a servo-hydraulic fatigue testing machine in air at room temperature. Compact tension specimens were prepared from the extruded parallel and vertical rolling direction. The test condition was frequency of 10Hz and sinusoidal load stress ratios are 0.1 and 0.7. The FCP rates was automatically measured by a compliance method. In the case of the FCP of AZ31B, the FCP of both direction of LT and TL by anisotropy of specimens are almost same value. In lower stress ratio, the FCP of the LT, TL specimens are increased in lower ${\Delta}K$ region but higher ${\Delta}K$ regions are almost same value. Finally, the result of observed the surface crack, it expressed the quasi-cleavage fracture in lower ${\Delta}K$ region and straight mark on the aspect of the facet in high ${\Delta}K$ region.

컨베이어용 풀리의 용접부위에 관한 파괴역학 설계기술 개발 (Fracture Mechanics Analysis of the Weldment in Pulley for Belt Conveyor)

  • The drive pulley, which is employed for loading and unloading raw materials in a steel mill, is usually manufactured by use of various welding processes. In this study the weldment in the pulley, in which TIG and $CO_2$ welding processes are used, has been analyzed from view point of fracture mechanics. Fracture toughness tests have been performed according to ASTM E813. A servo-hydraulic testing machine (10kN) has been employed. Also the crack propagation tests (Mode I) have been performed with compact tension specimen in compliance with ASTM E647. To predict the critical crack size in the weldment, finite element stress analysis for the drive pulley under real operating conditions have been performed. In addition, the residual stresses at the weldment and in heat-affected zone have been obtained by hole drilling method. The planar critical crack size have been predicted for the drive pulley by considering the stress analysis results and the residual stresses due to welding process. For the drive pulley considered in this study, it has been concluded that the most important factor in determining the critical crack size is the welding residual stress in the transverse direction. Also the effect of stress concentration at the root of the weldment have been noticeable. For the planar crack, the fatigue crack growth life from an initial crack size of 2mm to the critical crack size obtained as in the above have been predicted. The predicted lives were between 55, 900 and 72, 000 cycles depending on the shape of the elliptical crack. The predicted lives were in fairly good agreement for the drive pulley considered in this study.

  • Elastic-plastic fracture toughness JIC can be used a s an effective design criterion in elastic-plastic fracture mechanics. Among the JIC test methods approved by ASTM, unloading compliance method was used in this study. In order to examine the relationship between fracture behavior of JIC test and AE signals, the post processing of AE signals has been carried out by Short Time Fourier Transform(STFT), one of the time-frequency analysis methods. The objective of this study is to evaluate the application of characterization of AE signals for unloading compliance method of JIC test. As a result of time-frequency analysis, we could extract the AE from the raw signal and analyze the frequencies in AE signal at the same time. AE signal generated by elastic-plastic fracture of material has some different aspects at elastic and plastic ranges, or the first portion of crack growth by fracture. First of all, increased energy recorded and detected by using AE count method increase rapidly from the start of ductile fracture. The variation of main frequency range with time-frequency analysis method could be confirmed. We could know fracture behavior of interior material by examination AE characteristics generated in real-time when elastic-plastic fracture occurred in material under loading.

  • In this work, an equation of J-integral for a penny-shaped crack at the end of the cord embedded in rubber matrix is proposed. The dimensional analysis is applied to derived to the equation of J-integral. We assume that the energy Parameter J is separated into the deformation and the geometry function, and which is proved using by separation parameter.

  • 본 논문에서는 점탄성 재료의 피로균열 성장을 분석하기 위해 ${\Delta}J$-적분을 이용하였다. J-적분의 계산 시 기존의 수치해석 방법이 아닌 해석적인 적분 해를 도출하여 계산시간을 절감하고 정확도를 크게 높였다. 계산 시 응력확대계수는 특정 균열에 대해 참조하는 방법이 아닌 유한요소해석을 통해 구하는 방법을 사용하였다. 기존의 ${\Delta}K$를 이용한 피로균열 예측과는 달리 크리프 변형계수, 단 두 개의 피로성장 모델 변수만을 가지고 다양한 하중과 하중주기에서의 피로균열 성장을 성공적으로 분석할 수 있었다.

平面應力 破壞靭性値 擧動에 관한 硏究

  • 본 연구에서는 평면응력 파괴인성치의 거동에 관한 일련의 연구로서 위와 같 은 점을 고려하여 얇은 두께의 시험편을 이용하여 z의 변화에 대한 평면응력 파괴인성 치와 J저항곡선을 실험적으로 고찰하였으며 크랙성장을 고려한 J적분식도 검토하였다. 크랙길이는 하중제거 컴플라이언스법에 의하여 구하였고, ASTM E813의 방법으로J= .sigma.$_{f}$ .DELTA.(2a)인 크랙둔화선과 J저항곡선의 교점에서 구한 J적분값을 J$_{c}$로 정 의하였다. 또한, 재료를 변형경화재료로 가정하여 HRR응력변형율장의 특성을 이용 하여 J적분값을 구한 후 실험치와 상호 비교 검토하였다.이때 입력자료는 실험치의 그것과 동일하게 하였다. 동시에 z의 변화에 대한 T의 변화도 함께 고찰하였다.다.

  • The objective of this paper is to decide optimal of the slot angle to minimize stress concentration in rotating disc of diamond saw. The fracture phenomena of the slot are discussed by the theoretical and experimental approaches and then some recommendation are presented to prevent the fracture. The focus of this investigation is to evaluation the effect of the slot on stress distribution using optimum design technique and finite element method(FEM) analysis. Stress concentration of the slot with respect to the various parameter of the slot such position, size, number, rotation speed. From the experimental results, when the slot angle of diamond saw is located $8^{\circ}\~12^{\circ}$ from rotating direction, the maximum equivalent stress reduces.

콜드 스트레칭 STS 304강 용접부의 저온피로균열진전 특성 (Fatigue Crack Growth Characteristics of Cold Stretched STS 304 Welded Joint)

  • 압력용기 재료로 사용되는 STS 304강은 저온에서 기계적 특성이 우수하지만, 다른 합금과 비교하여 중량이 무겁다. 이러한 문제를 해결하는 방안으로 STS 304강에 콜드 스트레칭(Cold stretching)공법을 사용하는 방법이 있다. 본 연구에서는 ASME 규정에 따라 제작된 콜드 스트레칭 압력용기에서 직접 채취한 콜드 스트레칭부 및 용접부 시험편을 이용하여, 상온 및 $-170^{\circ}C$에서 응력비 0.1과 0.5에 대하여 컴플라이언스법을 이용하여 피로균열진전시험을 수행하였다. 시험결과, 용접부의 피로균열진전속도는 콜드 스트레칭부에 비해 동일 응력확대계수범위에서 빠른 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 콜드스트레칭 공법을 사용하여 제작한 STS강 압력용기 개발을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
