  • 터빈로터는 발전설비 중에서 가장 핵심 부분이며 동시에 심한 고온 응력을 받는 부분이다. 터빈로터 재료로는 Ni-Cr-Mo-V강과 CrMoV 강등이 사용된다. CrMoV 강은 발전 설비로 장시간 사용 중 열적피로나 크립손상, 고온 부식 등의 문제가 단독 혹은 복합적으로 발생하여 재료에 손상을 입히게 되고 결국에는 설비의 수명을 단축 시키곤 한다. (중략)

  • Developments of nondestructive evaluation techniques for reduction of strength or toughness by aging of material have been carried out, and the method using electrical resistivity is one of them. In this study, to examine the application of electrical resistivity to the evaluation of degradation of metallic alloy, ten different non-magnetic materials were selected as test materials. Electrical resistivities measured by DC two-point probe method and those measured by non-contact type eddy current method were compared with each other. In addition, to examine the application possibility of four-point probe technology in field, the electrical resistivities for 1Cr-lMo-0.25V steel measured by DC two-point probe method and four-point probe method were compared with each other Differences between two measured values for the 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel were 0.6%. Therefore, the four-point probe method can be applied to the estimation of the degradation of metallic alloy. ect.

  • 1.0Cr-1.0Mo-0.25V강 용접부의 크립 파단 시험시 파단 발생 원인에 관한 연구가 시행되었다. 파괴는 Intercritical Heat Affected Zone에서 발생하였으며 파단면에서 구상의조대한 M6C탄화물이 발견되었다. 모재는 molybdenum 주성분의 M2C, vanadium 주성분의 M4C3 및 chromium 주성분의 M23C6와 M7C3 탄화물이 존재하였다. 모의 실험 결과 준안정 상태인 M2C 탄화물은 85$0^{\circ}C$, 10oh에서 안정한 M6C탄화물로 변태하였다. M6C 탄화물은 주변의 molybdenum 농도를 떨어뜨려 강도의 저하를 가져오며 크립 기공의 발생 원인을 제공하였다.

Degradation Evaluation of Aged 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V Steel Using Coercive Force (보자력을 이용한 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V강 인공시효재의 열화도 평가)

  • The integrity of the turbine rotors can be assessed by the coercive force and Vickers hardness of the aged rotors at service temperature. The coercive force measurement system was constructed in order to evaluate material degradation nondestructively. The test specimen was 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel used widely for turbine rotor material, and then the seven kinds of specimens with different degradation levels were prepared by the isothermal heat treatment at $630^{\circ}C$. The coercive force of the test materials was measured at room temperature. Vickers hardness and coercive force decreased with the increase of degradation. The relationship between Vickers hardness and coercive force was investigated. The degradation of test material may be determined nondestructively by the relationship between Vickers hardness and coercive force.

A Study on Initial Transient Behavior in Creep-Fatigue Crack Growth (크리프-피로 균열성장에서의 초기 천이거동에 대한 연구)

  • At early stage of creep-fatigue crack growth tests, initial transient behavior which implies high crack growth rate has been generally observed by some researchers. Since the influence of the initial transient crack growth behavior on the remaining life of components is significant, cause of it should be further studied. In this study, characteristics of the initial transient behavior of 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel is studied experimentally by performing creep-fatigue crack growth tests at $538^{\circ}C$ in air under trapezoidal waveshapes. It is verified that the cause of the initial transient behavior is not high ${(C_t)}_{avg}$ values due to the small scale creep condition at the early stage of test, but oxidation-dominated crack growth mechanism during the transient period which is different from the creep-dominated crack growth mechanism in steady crack growth period.

  • When crack are detected in aged turbine rotors of power plants, information on fracture resistance of the aged material at operating temperature is needed for determination of critical loading condition and residual life of the turbine. In this study, fracture toughness (J$_lc$) and tearing modulus(T$_mat$) of virgin and thermally degraded 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel, which is one of the most widely used rotor steels, were measured at 538.deg. C according to ASTM E813 and ASTM E1152, respectively. Five kinds of specimen with different degradation levels were prepared by isothermal aging heat treatment at $630^{\circ}C.$ It was observed that J$_lc$ and T$_mat$ value decreased as the degradation level increased. Analysis of microstructures using a scanning electron microscope showed that the decrement of J$_lc$ is related to segregation of impurities at grain boundaries. It was also verified that the DC electric potential drop method is accurate and reliable for crack length monitoring at elevated temperature.
