커플링 급전 구조를 사용한 역 F형 안테나의 설계 (Design of Inverted-F Antenna Using a Coupling Feed)

  • 본 논문에서는 커플링 급전 구조를 사용한 이동 통신 단말기용 프린트형 역 F 안테나를 제안하였다. 일반적으로 커플링 급전 구조를 사용할 경우 추가적인 커패시턴스 성분이 발생되며, 급전부를 직접 연결해준 안테나의 높은 인덕턴스 성분을 부분적으로 보상해 주는 역할을 한다. 제안된 안테나는 커플링 급전 구조를 사용하여 $824{\sim}960$MHz와 $1,710{\sim}2,390$ MHz에서 다중 대역을 갖도록 대역 특성을 개선시켰으며, 급전부를 직접 연결해준 안테나와 비교하여 제안된 안테나의 대역 특성이 개선됨을 확인하였다. 제안된 안테나는 GSM850/GSM900/DCS/USPCS/WCDMA/Wibro 대역을 만족하며, 최대 이득 -$4.794{\sim}1.648$ dBi의 이득을 가지고 전방향성 복사 패턴을 보인다.

  • In this paper, a planar printed hybrid short/open-ended slot antenna with capacitive coupling feed strips is proposed for hepta-band mobile applications. The proposed antenna is comprised of a slotted ground plane on the top plane and two capacitive coupling feed strips with a chip inductor on the bottom plane. At the low frequency band, the short-ended long slot fed by strip 1 generates its half-wavelength resonance mode, whereas the T-shaped open ended slot fed by strip 2 generates its quarter-wavelength resonance mode for the high frequency band. The antenna provides a wide bandwidth covering GSM850/GSM900/DCS/PCS/UMTS/LTE2300/LTE2500 operation bands. Moreover, the antenna occupies a small volume of $15mm{\times}50mm{\times}1mm$. The operating principle of the proposed antenna and the simulation/measurement results are presented and discussed.

A Simple Planar Heptaband Antenna with a Coupling Feed for 4G Mobile Applications

  • A simple planar heptaband antenna with a coupling feed for 4G mobile applications is proposed. This antenna consists of a folded monopole and a feed strip line on the top plane and an L-shaped line with a coupling plate on the bottom plane. The antenna provides a wide bandwidth to cover the LTE/GSM/UMTS heptaband operation. The measured 6-dB return loss bandwidth is 152 MHz (820-972 MHz) in the lowfrequency band and 1,150 MHz (1,600-2,750 MHz) in the high-frequency band. The overall dimensions of the proposed antenna are $60mm{\times}105mm{\times}1.2mm$.

  • 본 논문에서는 GPS와 위성 DMB에 사용할 수 있는 이중 모드 annular ring 패치 안테나를 제안하였다. 제안된 안테나는 커플링 급전과 annular ring 패치의 네 개의 슬롯을 특징으로 한다. 급전 선로와 패치 사이의 간격은 입력 임피던스를 조절하는 역할을 하고, 패치의 슬롯의 길이는 DMB 주파수에 해당하는 $TM_{21}$ 모드의 공진 주파수를 조절하는 역할을 한다. 제안된 안테나를 제작 및 측정을 하였다. 제작된 안테나는 GPS와 DMB 주파수에서 만족할만한 대역폭을 가지고 공진을 일으키며, GPS 대역에서는 broadside 방사 패턴을 가지고 DCS 대역에서는 코니컬 빔 방사 패턴을 가진다.

고정밀 고속 윤곽가공을 위한 3축 연동제어기 (3-Axis Coupling Controller for High-Precision/High-Speed Contour Machining)

  • This paper proposes a three-axis coupling controller designed to improve the contouring accuracy in machining of 3D nonlinear contours. The proposed coupling controller is based on an innovative 3D contour error model and a PID control law. The novel contour error model provides almost exact calculation of contour errors in real-time for arbitrary contours and can be integrated with any type of existing interpolator. In the proposed method, three axes of motion are coordinated by the proposed coupling controller along with a proportional controller for each axis. The proposed contour error model and coupling controller are evaluated through computer simulations. The simulation results show that the proposed 3-axis coupling controller with the new contour error model substantially can improve the contouring accuracy by order of magnitude compared with the existing uncoupled controllers in high-speed machining of nonlinear contours.

MEMS Gyroscope를 위한 feed-through 노이즈 제거 기법 (Feed-through Noise Reduction Technique for MEMS Gyroscope)

  • Since the dimensions of MEMS gyroscope are very small compared to those of conventional gyroscope, MEMS gyroscope should be able to measure charge of pico-coulomb caused by very small change of electrodes gap. However, feed-through signal from driving electrodes to the sensing electrodes due to the electromagnetic coupling is much greater than the sensing signal, which degrades the sensitivity of MEMS gyroscope. This paper introduces the feed-through noise canceling technique using dummy port and confirms the feasibility of feed-through noise canceling experimentally. Experimental results shows that, when driving signal is 6 Vpp, 30 kHz, feed-through signal of vacuum packaged Si Gyroscope decreases from -53.2 dBm to -77.1 dBm by using feed-through reduction technique. Q-factor that could not be measured without noise reduction is measured to be about 2500 and resonance frequency to be 7.018 kHz.

  • As the run out error and misalignment of ball screw connected directly to guide table largely affect the motion accuracy of guideway, floating coupling that releases the table from screw nut except feed and rotational direction is needed todecrease its influences. The purpose of this study is to propose a practical model floating coupling of ball serew for high precision feeding system. The straightness, dynanic characteristics and micro step response of hydrostatic guideway, mounted with three types of coupling fixed type, leaf spring type and hydrostatic type, are tested and compared. From the resuts of experiments, it is proved that a hydrostatic type floating coupling is superior to other couplings and is available to high precision feeding system with ball screw.

Precise Modeling and Adaptive Feed-Forward Decoupling of Unified Power Quality Conditioners

  • The unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) is an effective custom power device that is used at the point of common coupling to protect loads from voltage and current-related PQ issues. Currently, most researchers have studied series unit and parallel unit models and an idealized transformer model. However, the interactions of the series and parallel converters in AC-link are difficult to analyze. This study utilizes an equivalent transformer model to accomplish an electric connection of series and parallel converters in the AC-link and to establishes a precise unified mathematical model of the UPQC. The strong coupling interactions of series and parallel units are analyzed, and they show a remarkable dependence on the excitation impedance of transformers. Afterward, a feed-forward decoupling method based on a unified model that contains the uncertainty components of the load impedance is applied. Thus, this study presents an adaptive method to estimate load impedance. Furthermore, simulation and experimental results verify the accuracy of the proposed modeling and decoupling algorithm.

금속 산화물 촉매를 이용한 메탄의 Oxidative Coupling 반응 (Oxidative Coupling of Methane by Metal Oxide Catalysts)

  • 메탄의 직접 전환 기술 중 하나인 OCM(oxidative coupling of methane) 반응을 수행하였다. 사용한 금속 산화물 촉매는 Li/MgO와 Pb/MgO이었다. 온도에 따른 촉매의 반응성을 알아보기 위해 600, 700, $800^{\circ}C$에서 반응을 행하였으며, 반응물 혼합비(메탄:산소)에 따른 반응성, 전환율 및 선택도를 알아보기 위해 $700^{\circ}C$에서 혼합비를 2:1 및 1:1로 하여 실험을 하였다. 그 결과 7wt% Li/MgO 촉매의 경우 반응온도 $700^{\circ}C$이고 혼합비가 2:1일 때 메탄의 전환율과 $C_2$화합물의 선택도가 각각 20%, 65% 정도로서 우수한 반응성을 보임을 알 수 있었다. 7wt% Li/MgO 촉매의 경우 $700^{\circ}C$에서 혼합비가 1:1일 때 메탄의 전환율은 30%로 증가했으나 $C_2$화합물의 선택도는 45%로 감소하였다. Pb/MgO 촉매는 Li/MgO 보다 낮은 선택도를(25%) 나타내었다.

Fabrication of 3D Feed Horn IR Antenna for IR Detector

  • A three dimensional feed horn 10${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ wavelength infrared antenna has been suggested, fabricated and characterized. It was applied to an infrared detector for efficient collecting of IR radiation and for reducing background noise. The horn antenna size was designed for maximum antenna directivity. The 3D feed horn antenna mold was fabricated using rotating and tilted illumination while the antenna plate was constructed by way of electroplating. Antenna characteristics were measured by coupling with a microbolometer. Measurement results indicated that the directivity of the antenna is 16.1㏈ and the background noise is reduced by approximately two times.
