한국인 성인의 정상 치열궁 형태에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE NORMAL DENTAL ARCH FORM OF KOREAN ADULT)

  • 정상 치열궁에 관한 연구는 많은 학자들에 의해 시행되어온 바 학자들 간에는 아무런 일관성이 없다는 의견과 치열궁을 대표할 만한 기하학적 곡선이 존재한다는 의견이 상충되어 왔다. 그중 후자의 이론이 지배적인 것으로 보이나 그 중에서도 곡선의 형태에 관하여서는 다시 많은 논란이 있었다. Bonwill과 Hawley등에 의한 Circle론, Black의 반타원론, Angle의 포물선론, 이외에도 많은 의견이 있는 가운데 저자는 정상교합을 유지하는 한국인 성인을 대상으로 Bonwill과 Hawley의 이론을 기초로 한 연구를 시행한 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 정상교합을 유지하는 한국인 성인의 치열은 전치에 있어서 원호에 근사한 배열을 갖는다. 2. 원의 지름은 6전치의 폭경의 합에 대하여 다양하므로, 전치 배열이 치아의 크기에 엄격히 연관됐다고 단정 할 수는 없다. 3. 그러나 6전치 폭경의 합에 대한 원의 지름의 비율은 그 평균치가 상하악 모두 1 : 1에 매우 근접하고 이 사실은 Bonwill의 결론에 부합한다. 4. 견치간 폭경과 구치간 폭경은 육전치의 합에 대한 비율이 상하악에 있어서 그 형태가 다름에 따라 상이하나 비교적 일정하게 나타난다.

Gas Exchanges and Dehydration in Different Intensities of Conditioning in Tifton 85 Bermudagrass: Nutritional Value during Hay Storage

  • The present study aimed at evaluating the intensity of Tifton 85 conditioning using a mower conditioner with free-swinging flail fingers and storage times on dehydration curve, fungi presence, nutritional value and in vitro digestibility of Tifton 85 bermudagrass hay dry matter (DM). The dehydration curve was determined in the whole plant for ten times until the baling. The zero time corresponded to the plant before cutting, which occurred at 11:00 and the other collections were carried out at 8:00, 10:00, 14:00, and 16:00. The experimental design was randomised blocks with two intensities of conditioning (high and low) and ten sampling times, with five replications. The high and low intensities related to adjusting the deflector plate of the free iron fingers (8 and 18 cm). In order to determine gas exchanges during Tifton 85 bermudagrass dehydration, there were evaluations of mature leaves, which were placed in the upper middle third of each branch before the cutting, at every hour for 4 hours. A portable gas analyser was used by an infrared IRGA (6400xt). The analysed variables were photosynthesis (A), stomatal conductance (gs), internal $CO_2$ concentration (Ci), transpiration (T), water use efficiency (WUE), and intrinsic water use efficiency (WUEi). In the second part of this study, the nutritional value of Tifton 85 hay was evaluated, so randomised blocks were designed in a split plot through time, with two treatments placed in the following plots: high and low intensity of cutting and five different time points as subplots: cutting (additional treatment), baling and after 30, 60, and 90 days of storage. Subsequently, fungi that were in green plants as well as hay were determined and samples were collected from the grass at the cutting period, during baling, and after 30, 60, and 90 days of storage. It was observed that Tifton 85 bermudagrass dehydration occurred within 49 hours, so this was considered the best time for drying hay. Gas exchanges were more intense before cutting, although after cutting they decreased until ceasing within 4 hours. The lowest values of acid detergent insoluble nitrogen were obtained with low conditioning intensity after 30 days of storage, 64.8 g/kg DM. The in vitro dry matter of Tifton 85 bermudagrass did not differ among the storage times or the conditioning intensities. There was no fungi present in the samples collected during the storage period up to 90 days after dehydration, with less than 30 colony forming units found on plate counting. The use of mower conditioners in different intensities of injury did not speed up the dehydration time of Tifton 85.

B 세포의 항체 생산에 대한 게란티 바이오-게르마늄 효모의 영향 (Effect of Geranti Bio-Ge Yeast, a Dried Yeast Containing Biogermanium, on the Production of Antibodies by B Cells)

  • Background: Germanium compounds are increased to use in nutrient foods and medicines in terms of antibiotics to microbes, anticancer, modulation of immune system and neutralizing heavy metal toxins. Geranti Bio-Ge Yeast, containing stable organic germanium and bound to the yeast protein was developed by Geranti Pharm. LTD. and the modulation effect in the immune system was examined in vivo and in vitro. Methods: The compound, Geranti Bio-Ge Yeast, was fed to female Balb/c mice (each group has 10 mice) for 4 weeks and the yeast powder and steamed red ginseng powder were used as control during the same feeding time points. During 4 weeks there was no symptom to be considered, and after 4 weeks feeding all mice were sacrificed to check the changes of related immune cells and subsidiary responses (i.e. cell counting, FACS, MTT, LDH, PFC assay). Results: In pre-post comparison, B cell population was increased in the group of Geranti Bio-Ge Yeast in a dose dependent manner (100 to 800 mg/kg). However, the population of T cell, dendritic cell and macrophage was not comparably changed in all doses. The ability of cytokine production and proliferation was almost same level as shown in control group. In contrast, PFC assay informed that the compound increase the antibody production ability when fed over 200 mg/kg implying that the increase of PFC number might be due to the increase of B cells. Conclusion: Over the entire study, we concluded that the compound, Geranti Bio-Ge Yeast has better potential in immune response in terms of B cell proliferation than that of positive control, red ginseng, and the compound can be one of the future candidates for a new supplementary source improving immune system activity.

Erythrosine과 LED를 이용한 광역동 치료 후 Streptococcus mutans 바이오필름의 회복 (Recovery of Streptococcus Mutans Biofilm after Photodynamic Therapy with Erythrosine and LED Light Source)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 erythrosine 매개 광역동 치료 (Photodynamic therapy, PDT)가 Streptococcus mutans 바이오필름 회복에 미치는 영향을 Colony Forming Unit (CFU) 측정과 공초점 레이저 주사 현미경의 관찰을 통해 평가하는 것이었다. PDT에서 광감각제로 erythrosine을 사용하였다. S. mutans ATCC 25175 바이오필름에 LED 광원을 통해 광역동 치료를 시행하였다. 클로르헥시딘 (Chlorhexidine, CHX) 처리한 군을 양성대조군으로 설정하였다. 각 군에 따른 처리 후 바이오필름의 회복을 위해 배양하였다. 세균 생존율을 처리 직후, 재배양 후 3시간 간격으로 24시간까지 CFU 계수를 통해 측정하였다. 항균 처리 직후 PDT, CHX에서 모두 음성대조군과 비교 시 S. mutans CFU 수가 유의하게 감소하였다. 재배양 12시간 후 PDT는 음성대조군과 비교 시 CFU 수 감소에 관하여 통계적인 유의성을 띄지 않았지만 CHX는 24시간 동안 통계적으로 낮은 CFU 수를 보였다. Erythrosine을 이용한 광역동 치료는 S. mutans 바이오필름 형성을 효과적으로 억제하지만 클로르헥시딘보다 바이오필름의 회복이 빠르게 나타났다. 이 연구는 치아 우식 예방을 위한 광역동 치료의 임상적 효과에 관한 통찰력을 제공한다.

  • In view of ever rising water pollution problems of river in the vicinity of large urban communities, the author has made an investigation on the pollution of water sampled from Han River (Seoul area) and Nakdong River (Daegu city area) during the period from July to December, 1970. The water samples were taken twice a month during the study period of 6 months from 7 points (locations) along the main stream of Han River at Seoul city and 5 points of Nakdong River at Daegu city. The samples ware measured and analyzed in accordance with the recognized methods in the 'Standard Methods for Examination of Water and waste' by American Public Health Association. The obtained results are as follows : I. Han River. 1. Average turbidity was 5.1 units ranging from 1 to 10 units and the turbidity of down stream was higher than that of the upper stream. 2. pH value showed slight alkalinity (mean;7.2) except Yunchang-Dong (6.9). 3. The mean value of Dissolved Oxygen contents (D.O) was 7.2 ppm. (range of 3.4-10.5ppm.). D.O. of the upper stream (8.2 ppm. at Walker Hill boating place, 8.0 ppm. at the Gwangzang Bridge and Ddookdo) was higher than that of he downstream (5.6ppm. at Yumchang-Dong, 6.4 ppm. at the 2nd Han River Bridge), and D.O. in the winter season was higher than that in the summer season, respectively. 4 The mean value of the Biochemical Oxygen Demand (B.O.D.) was 28.3 ppm. (range of 6.2-64.8 ppm.). The mean value of B.O.D. was 48.7 ppm. at Yumchang-Dong, 42.3 ppm. at the 2nd Han River Bridge, 34.0 ppm. at the 1st nan River Bridge, 28.5 ppm. at the 3rd Han River Bridge, 19.2 ppm. at Dookdo, 13.2 ppm. at the Gwangzang Bridge, and 10.2 ppm. at the Walker Hill boating place in order of value. B.O.D. in July and August (35.6 and 34.5 ppm.) were the highest and that in November and December (18.6 and 21.2 ppm.) were the lowest. 5. Suspended Solids (SS) were from 15.0 to 667.0 ppm. with the mean of 222.1 ppm. 'Suspended Solids' of the water samples at Yumchang-Dong and the 2nd Han River Bridge were found to be 378.1 ppm. and 283.9 ppm. respectively which were higher than at the Gwangzang Bridge (134.1 ppm.) and at Walker Hill boating place (79.3ppm.). 6. Coliform colonies counting of the water samples ranged from $0-2,500{\times}10/100ml$. with the mean value of $205.6{\times}10/100ml$. The most contaminated water sample by coliform were from the point of the 2nd Han River Bridge with $640.8{\times}10/100ml$ while the lowest ones were from Walker Hill boating place with $17.2{\times}10/100ml$. There was also a seasonal variation in coliform contamination that is the higher in summer and the lower in winter. II. Nakdong River 1. The mean value of turbidity was 2.3 units with range of 0 to 9.0 units. The highest point was at Geumho River (7.2 units). and the lowest point was at Gangzung and Moonsan (0.45 and 0.41 units). 2. The mean value of pH was 7.5 (range of 7.1-8.5) and highest point was Geumho River with 8.5. 3. The mean value of D.O. was 8.1 ppm. (range of 3.4-11.2 ppm.). D.O. of the upper stream showed higher value than that of the down stream, and the winter season than the summer season. 4. B.O.D. ranged from 2.6 to 57.0 ppm. (mean; 20.4ppm.). The water sample at Geumho River showed the highest value (41.5 ppm.) while at Moonsan and Gangzung showed the lowest (4.6 and 4.7 ppm.). 5. The mean value of suspended solids was 48.7 ppm. (range of 4.0-182.0 ppm.). The highest month was July (63.7ppm.) and August (62.1 ppm.) and the lowest month was October (37.0 ppm.) and December (24.4 ppm.). 6. The mean value of the coliform colonies was $22.7{\times}10/100ml$. (range of $0-243{\times}10/100ml$.). The highest number of the colonies was found in the sample water at the Whawon recreation area ($50.5{\times}10/100ml$.) followed by the Geumho River ($33.9{\times}10/100ml$.), the Goryung Bridge ($28.3{\times}10/100ml$.), Gangzung($0.7{\times}10/100ml$), and Moonsan ($0.6{\times}10/100ml$.).

즉석섭취 알 가공품의 미생물학적 품질 및 주요 식중독 균의 증식·생존 분석 (Microbiological Quality and Growth and Survival of Foodborne Pathogens in Ready-To-Eat Egg Products)

  • 본 연구는 계란가공전문업체에서 생산하는 즉석섭취 알가공품의 미생물학적 안전성을 분석한 연구로 제품의 종류에 따라 일반세균 및 coliforms의 오염수준의 차이가 매우 크며 식중독균의 증식/생존 양상에도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉석섭취 알 가공품 중 계란구이의 가공 공정단계에서 미생물 오염도를 조사한 결과에 따르면 공정 초기단계에서 aerobic plate counts 오염 수준은 높았으나 가열 성형 공정 이후 급격하게 감소하여 공정 과정 이후 낮은 수준으로 유지하는 것으로 보아 HACCP 공정에서의 CCP 관리는 적절하게 수행되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 완제품의 경우 치즈, 참치, 피자오믈렛과 계란구이, 계란 찜은 미생물 규격 기준에 부합하였으나 떡갈비오믈렛과 지단채는 허용 불가능한 수준으로 확인되었다. 특히 지단채의 경우 레토르트 공정을 거치지 않는 제조 공정에 따른 특성 때문인 것으로 판단되어 이를 보완할 수 있는 관리 방안이 필요할 것으로 보이며, 오믈렛의 경우 계란 이외의 내용물이 추가 주입되므로 부 재료의 관리도 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 병원성 식중독균을 인위적으로 오염시킨 즉석섭취 알 가공품을 4, 10, $15^{\circ}C$에 저장하면서 미생물의 증식 및 생존을 관찰한 결과, L. monocytogenes는 저장 기간 내 모든 온도에서 증식하였다. 특히 계란구이에서 S. Typhimurium과 E. coli는 $4^{\circ}C$$10^{\circ}C$ 저장조건에서 사멸하였으나, $15^{\circ}C$ 저장조건에서는 동일한 저장기간 동안에 급격하게 성장하는 것으로 나타나, 유통/판매 조건에서 온도 관리 또한 철저하게 수행되어야 할 것으로 판단된다. 또한 계란구이에서 S. Typhimurium에 비해 S. Enteritidis의 증식 속도가 더 빠른 것으로 나타났으며 계란 찜에서도 S. Typhimurium는 사멸하는 반면 S. Enteritidis 증식은 잘 이루어 져 알 가공품에서의 S. Enteritidis의 증식 위험성이 더 큰 것으로 나타나 식용란이 생산되는 과정에서도 S. Enteritidis 오염예방이 매우 중요한 것으로 판단된다. 또한 알 가공품의 경우 제조 시설에서의 위생적인 제품 생산뿐만 아니라 조리 시 적절한 가열, 가열 후 교차오염 방지, 조기섭취 등 유통/보관 후 소비자 섭취시점까지의 안전관리 방안이 필요하다.
