Improving Flexibility of External Data Exchange in Count-fire Operation System by Adapting Dynamic Parser Software (동적 구문처리기 소프트웨어 적용을 통한 대화력전 수행체계 연동의 유연성 향상 방안)

  • The counter-fire operation system performs its mission exchanging information with other related systems such as command & control systems and military information systems. In the process of exchanging information, the counter-fire operation system uses a type of data message which contains exchange data information in the format of KMTF. The requirement of data exchange of count-fire operation will continue to evolve. But the EDX(External Data eXchange) configuration item of the current counter-fire operation system can not effectively cope with the variation of data exchange requirements due to its fixed software structure. In the paper, a solution for improving flexibility of external data exchange in counter-fire operation system is proposed.

  • In this paper, the new method which is monitoring quantity of particles using by ion-counter has been developed. ISPM system is composed by Gerdien type ion-counter (house-made), DC power supply and electrometer. Ion-counter applied positive voltage could detect only positive charged particles. Therefore charged particles to Boltzmann equilibrium distribution or to some identified charge distribution can be detected by ion-counter. Ion-counter could install on the exhaust line of process equipment since pressure loss is structurally low. ISPM system has been certified by comparison with the result of SMPS (Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer) system. The relation coefficiency is above 0.98 about $20{\sim}300nm$ particles with identified charge distribution under $0.1{\sim}10.0$ Torr.

Development of Form Rolling Technology for High Precision Worm Using the Rack Dies of Counter Flow Type (Counter Flow 방식의 랙 다이를 이용한 고정 밀도 Worm 전조기술 개발)

  • The objective of this study is to suggest the form rolling technology to produce high precision worm on the base of three dimensional finite element simulation and experiment. It is important to determine the initial workpiece diameter in form rolling because it affects the quality of tooth profile. The calculation method of the initial workpiece diameter in form rolling is suggested and it is verified by finite element simulation. The form rolling processes of worm shaft used as automotive part using both the rack dies of counter flow type and the roll dies are considered and simulated with the same numerical model as actual process by the commercial finite element code, BEFORM-3D. Deformation modes of workpiece between the form rolling by the rack dies of counter flow type and the roll dies are investigated from the result of simulation. The experiments using rack dies and roll dies are performed under the same conditions as those of simulation. The surface roughness, the straightness and the profile of worm are measured precisely using the worm shafts obtained from experiment. The results of simulation and experiment in this study show that the form rolling process of worn shaft using the rack dies is decidedly superior to that using roll dies from the aspect of the precision of worm such as the surface roughness, the straightness and the profile of worm.

A Low Power Dual CDS for a Column-Parallel CMOS Image Sensor

  • In this paper, a $320{\times}240$ pixel, 80 frame/s CMOS image sensor with a low power dual correlated double sampling (CDS) scheme is presented. A novel 8-bit hold-and-go counter in each column is proposed to obtain 10-bit resolution. Furthermore, dual CDS and a configurable counter scheme are also discussed to realize efficient power reduction. With these techniques, the digital counter consumes at least 43% and at most 61% less power compared with the column-counters type, and the frame rate is approximately 40% faster than the double memory type due to a partial pipeline structure without additional memories. The prototype sensor was fabricated in a Samsung $0.13{\mu}m$ 1P4M CMOS process and used a 4T APS with a pixel pitch of $2.25{\mu}m$. The measured column fixed pattern noise (FPN) is 0.10 LSB.

  • A buried channel poly-Si TFT (BCTFT) for application of high performance integrated circuits has been proposed and fabricated. BCTFT has unique features, such as the moderately-doped buried channel and counter-doped body region for conductivity modulation, and the fourth terminal entitled back bias for preventing kink effect. The n-type and p-type BCTFT exhibits superior performance to conventional poly-Si TFT in ON-current and field effect mobility due to moderate doping at the buried channel. The OFF-state leakage current is not increased because the carrier drift is suppressed by the p-n junction depletion between the moderately-doped buried channel and the counter-doped body region.

Importance of The Location of The Negative-charged Counter-ion against The Protonated Schiff Base on The Chromophore Configuration of pharaonis Phoborhodopsin

  • pharaonis phoborhodopsin (ppR), a photophobic sensor of haloalkaliphilic bacteria, Natronobacterium phar-aonis, has retinal as a chromophore covalently bound to Lys in G-helix via a protonated Schiff base (PSB), as is the same as bacteriorhodopsin (bR). For ppR, the corresponding counter-ion is Asp residue (Asp75) located in C-helix. Here we investigated the influence of the protonated state of this counter-ion and its location on the chromophore configuration. Under alkaline condition, the chromophore configuration of D75E mutant was analyzed by HPLC. D75E had a much larger content of 13-cis isomer: the ratio of 13-cis to all-trans was 6:4 while the wild-type had this ratio of 1 :9. On the other hand, under acidic condition where Glu was associated, D75E had no 13-cis retinal isomer. Mutants whose Asp75 was replaced by neutral amino acids (D75N and D75Q) did not contain 13-cis retinal. Furthermore, retinal isomer compositions and the change in the visible ab- sorption spectra (indicating the dissociation state of Glu75) were measured under varying pH, and these were almost the same dependencies. These results indicate that an important factor determining the 13-cis isomer content is the presence of negative charge of the counter-ion against PSB, but not the size of this residue. Com- parison between the wild-type and D75E in alkaline solutions indicates the influence of the location of the counter-ion.

The form roiling processes of worm shaft used as automotive part using the rack dies of counter flow type and the roll dies are considered and simulated by the commercial finite element code, DEFORM-3D. It is also important to determine the initial blank diameter in form rolling because it affects the quality of thread. The calculation method of the initial blank diameter in form rolling is suggested and it is verified by FE-simulation. The experiments using rack dies and roll dies are performed under the same conditions as those of simulation. The results of simulation and experiment in this study show that the from rolling process of worm shaft using the rack dies is decidedly superior to that using rolling dies from the aspect of the surface roughness and the profile of worm.

  • As the scale of building construction is larger and more complex and the adaptation of new technology is increasing, the tendency of the risk serious accident cases is increasing now. Especially, the accident rate is below 10% at the building construction workers in Korea but among the total industrial accidents it exceeded by 35%. To prevent a construction accident, it is essential that not only to have a through grasp of the characteristic of safety problem but also to establish of efficient safety counter plan are required. According to the type and situation of building construction, the acquirement of necessary information is useful to prevent the hazard of work and establish the counter plan. Among the safety information it is a thing of especial importance that to estimate the hazard of work types for building construction to prepare the counter plan of safety. This study will analyze all of the1600 accidents of the building construction works from the data of KOSHA(Korea Occupational Safety &Health Agency) which were collected during 11 years(1992~2002) data relating to serious accidents of the building construction works, and suggest the counter plan according to the each work type in building construction works.

  • Plate-fin type recuperators for the gas turbine/fuel cell hybrid power generating system were designed using commercial design software, MUSE. Heat transfer efficiency and total pressure drop in the recuperator were calculated to confirm required recuperator performance. Both counter flow and cross flow type plate-fin recuperators were designed. Results show that the counter flow type has higher efficiency and short core length, but the cross flow type is simpler to construct because the cross flow type does not need additional distributors. Two or three headers for the each recuperator core will be designed and tested to evaluate best header design. The designed recuperators and headers which will be designed later will be constructed, tested, and used in gas turbine/fuel cell hybrid power generating system.
