  • Because of the characteristics of the cyber world, such as usefulness, anonymousness, patency, economic performance, rapidness, etc., cyber counseling has great possibility. Because he or she may not meet a consultant directly, a client can expose his/her inside problems or secret personal problems, keeping anonymousness. However, existing cyber counseling has the limit in durability of counseling because target counseling appropriate to a client is impossible and a counseling activity is done by one time counseling. In this paper, we attempt to develop a target cyber counseling system in which target cyber counseling is possible. The system will use a counseling assistance agent who can play the role of a counseling supporter as well as a counselor in the cyber space. If target counseling becomes possible, it can heighten efficiency of cyber counseling because a client is satisfied with the result of counseling and thus counseling activities can be continued.

  • Recently, as the expansion of the metaverse accelerated due to the spread of the non-face-to-face trend after the COVID-19 pandemic, various metaverse platforms using it have appeared. In this study, we propose research and development of a virtual reality spatial psychological counseling service platform utilizing the advantages of metaverse. A counseling service platform was developed through virtual reality hardware including Unity 3D game engine and Head Mounted Display. Counseling participants create and participate in their own avatars, and counseling facilitators respond to the situation and environment of the counseling target in various virtual environments. It was attempted to improve the efficiency of the counseling service by allowing the space and counselor avatar to be selected. Furthermore, various interactions were implemented, and development was carried out so that it could be extended and utilized for social activities such as group counseling and general meetings and presentations. In the future, through additional research and development, we will prove the practical effectiveness of the psychological counseling service platform developed by conducting clinical trials under the support of psychological counseling experts and participation in actual counseling.

  • This study utilized qualitative research to understand the changes taking place in adolescent dietary behaviors during the COVID-19 pandemic and the current status of school-provided nutrition counseling. These, along with barriers and strategies for improvement, were derived from focus group interviews with 10 nutrition teachers. Throughout the pandemic, adolescents experienced various dietary problems, including frequent meal skipping, unbalanced diets, increased obesity, and difficulties building positive attitudes towards food. To resolve these dietary problems, nutrition teachers recognized the need for school-provided nutrition counseling. However, nutrition teachers faced various barriers, such as a lack of time for nutrition counseling among students, lack of support from parents, and insufficient space and resources. To revitalize school-provided nutrition counseling, strategies such as home-connected nutrition counseling, the development of standardized guidelines, manuals for school-provided nutrition counseling, software support for nutrition diagnosis, and implementation of nutrition counseling in connection with cooking activities were proposed. This is important as school-provided nutrition counseling can help develop the foundation for healthy dietary behaviors and health promotion in adolescents.
