Salt injury in rice is caused mainly by the salinity in soil and in the irrigated water, and occasionaly by salinity delivered through typhoon from the sea. The salt concentration of rice plants increased with higher salinity in the soil of the rice growing. The climatic conditions, high temperature and solar radiation and dry conditions promote the salt absorption of rice plant in saline soil. The higher salt accumulation in the rice plant generally reduces the root activity and inhibits the absorption of minerals of rice plant, resulting the reduction of photosynthesis. The salt damages of rice plant, however, are different from different growth stage of rice plants as follows: 1. Germination of rice seed was slightly delayed up to 1.0% of salt concentration and remarkably at 1. 5%, but none of rice seeds were germinated at 2.5%. This may be due to the delayed water uptake of rice seeds and the inhibition of enzyme activity, 2. It was enable to establish rice seedlings at seed bed by 0.2% of salt concentration with some reduction of leaf elongation. The increasing of 0.3% salt concentration caused to the seedling death with varietal differences, but most of seedlings were death at 0.4% with no varietal differences. 3. Seedlings grown at the nursery over 0.1% salt, gradually reduced in rooting activity after transplanting according to increasing the salt concentration from 0.1% up to 0.3% of paddy field. However, the seedlings grown in normal seed bed showed no difference in rooting between varieties up to 0.1% but significantly different at 0.3% between varieties, but greatly reduced at 0.5% and died at last in paddy after transplanting. 4. At panicle initiation stage, rice plant delayed in heading by salt damage, at meiotic stage reduced in grains and its filling rate due to inhibition of glume and pollen developing, and salt damage at heading stage and till 3 weeks after heading caused to reduction of fertilization and ripening rate. In viewpoint of agricultural policy the overcoming strategy for salt injury is to secure sufficient water source. Irrigation and drainage systems as well as underground drainage is necessary to desalinize more effectively. This must be the most effective and positive way except cost. By cultural practice, growing the salt tolerant variety with high population could increase yield. The intermittent irrigation and fresh water flooding especially at transplanting and from panicle initiation to heading stage, the most sensitive to salt injury, is important to reduce the salt content in saline soil. During the off-cropping season, plough and rotavation with flooding followed by drainage, or submersion and drainage with groove could improve the desalinization. Increase of nitrogen fertilizer with more split application, and soil improvement by lime, organic matter and forign soil addition, could increase the rice yield. Shift of trans-planting is one of the way to escape from the salt injury.
This study has been focused on understandings for the problems of dietitian who perform nutrition service in the field of industry foodservice and then focused on using of its findings as basic material for smooth nutrition service performance through analyzing job satisfaction, job characteristic and its importance of dietitians' task in industry foodservice. A questionnaire survey of 120 nutritionists who have engaged themselves in industry foodservice―60 are under direct management and 60, held in trust―has been performed, and 95 responses (79%) have been collected and categorized, except some unfinished responses. The examined data have been classified statistically by using of SPSS, and then analyzed into frequency, percentage, mean value, standard deviation, and correlation among factors, according to questionnaires. The findings of the research can be summarized as following: The details of the surveyed dietitians were: 20-25 years old on an average; working less than two years; college graduates; mere employees; receiving monthly pay of 70~100 won on an average; working more than 52 hours weekly; and providing with four meals a day in a single menu. For job satisfaction and job characteristic, the service itself and the understanding of the service appear as main features. For the relative importance of the service, the findings show that the menu making, sanitation and cost control occupy an important position, while nutrition counseling, nutrition education and dietary control by ailments make up very low portion. For the cause of not enacting the nutrition service, the lack of counseling ability and the overburden of food service are at the top. The findings of this research, therefore, present the needs of the service capacity education and the reduction of excessive foodservice hours of dietitians in order to secure the efficient nutrition service in industry foodservice. To achieve this goal, first of all, there should be an intensive education course in school by using of practice hours. for enhancing practical service adaptability, and then the computerization of foodservice should be executed perfectly to reduce the excessive foodservice hours.
This study conducted a questionnaire survey of the current use status of central kitchen products on 198 dietitians and cooks working at a catering center of a company affiliated with group S in order to investigate the use state of the central kitchen products in catering. The largest groups of respondents answered that they use the central kitchen products once two to four days. As a reason to use it, the largest group answered that they used it because of the ease of preparation. In addition, the results show that the subjects often use sauce and processed vegetables among the central kitchen products. This study investigated the efficiency of cooking, hygiene and safety management of the central kitchen products. The results show that they have a large effect on shortening the cooking time. The quality control and service efficiency of the central kitchen products showed a positive reaction to the menu diversification and excellent quality but a negative reaction to the nutritious superiority. The operating cost efficiency of the central kitchen products generally showed a negative reaction except for the reducing effect of waste rate. As an improvement of the central kitchen products, the survey shows that the reduction in price and quality progress should be most urgently improved. Based on these results, the introduction of the central kitchen products into to the catering enables to standardize mass production, improve the taste and quality, cook without professional chefs and produce productivity increasing effect in the catering by the time shortening effect.

This paper develops a model to predict the adoption and level of usage of network technology in a two-level supply chain with buyer-supplier relationships. A firm's adoption of a new technology depends not only on its own beliefs of the new technology's costs and benefits, but also on the adoption decisions of other firms in the supply chain. A model first analyzes an individual supplier's decision about a new technology adoption considering with multiple suppliers and buyers. Individual suppliers' decisions are aggregated with a population model to project how new technology diffuses across the supply chain and examine the pattern of diffusion process. This study found that as more firms adopt in initial periods, the total amount of information to the potential adopters in the population increases, and then the number of firms persuaded by the information increases as the process moves up the distribution of adoption process. We consider three factors influencing the diffusion speed of the new technology in a supply chain network : mean benefits, cost sharing, and information provision. This study examines how such factors affect the reduction of threshold levels, which implies that reductions in threshold levels have an aggregate effect by accelerating the rate of adoption. In particular, we explore relationship factors available in practice in a buyer-supplier relationship and numerically examines how these relationship factors contribute to increase the diffusion speed of the technology in a two-level supply chain.

The monitor product is packed by cushioning materials because the monitor can be broken during transportation. However, the addition of the cushioning material increased the volume of the product. Therefore, it is required that the usage of cushioning material be minimized. In practice, design engineers have followed the ad hoc design with experiences of predecessors. Automation of the design process is very important for the reduction of engineering cost, and can be achieved by an excellent design process and software development. According to Axiomatic design, a design flow is defined and a software system is developed for automated design. At first, a basic model is defined. A user can modify the model from menus and design is carried out according to the input from the user. Finite element models are automatically generated based on the design. A nonlinear finite element analysis program called LS/DYNA3D is linked for the impact analysis. The process of Design of Experiments using orthogonal array is installed to minimize the maximum acceleration in drop test. Therefore, a new design can be proposed by the system. The program is designed according to the Independence Axiom of Axiomatic design. FRs and DPs of the software system are defined and decomposed by zigzagging process. Independent modules can be generated by analysis of the full design matrix and each module is coded as class in Object Oriented Programming (OOP). Design results are discussed.
In industrial field, a large volume of regenerants (acid and caustic soda) and their washing effluents are regularly disposed off from the water demineralization plant during regeneration of the ion-exchanger units. Of these waste effluents, a part of the wash water discharged from the single bed Anion and Mixed Bed units can be utilized at a certain stage of their washing cycles when its conductivity is fallen down and becomes considerably less than that of the input raw water. The main aim of this specific waste effluent utilization is to dilute the TDS concentration of the input raw water (fed into the single bed ion-exchanger units) by blending. The achievement is the increase of the longevity of the production cycles of the I.E. units along with the improvement of the production quality and decrease of the regeneration frequencies. As a result, regenerant consumption would be saved because of the reduction of ionic load in feed water which will ultimately reduce the water purification cost. At the same time, the environment pollution will also be protected to a considerable extent. This operational measure is quite effective and useful specially where high TDS water is demineralized only by single bed ion-exchangers. In such case, the water treatment plant is very often found to suffer from both production quality and quantity in addition to carrying out of random and restless regenerations. Proper reuses of the aforesaid wash water effluents of the Anion and MB units excellently minimizes the difficulties experienced in practice. This paper contains the utilities and techniques of reuses of the different kinds of waste effluents of the industrial water treatment plant in addition to the specific reuses of the post-regeneration wash waters of the Anion and MB ion-exchanger units.

Objectives : The purpose of this research was to investigate the awareness of an adult on implants and the relevant factors which affect the satisfaction of a patient after an implant treatment. Methods : This study was conducted to 407 adult subjects in Seoul and Gyeonggi. A total of 384 data were analyzed except the questionnaires having poor responses or errors. Results : The acquaintance route of implant was TV advertisements, self-knowledge, internet, news, and newspapers. Dentist's ability to practice implant was the most important factor in patient's choice. The responents answered the expected lifespan of an implant was more than 5 years to 10 years. In terms of dental health management behavior on implants, the average response of the highest 4.07 points of 5 Likert scale. Generally women are more concerned with implant than men(p<0.01). The highly educated and elderly patients had tendency to receive more treatment(p<0.0001). Patients were more satisfactory after receiving regular checkups after treatment(p<0.05). The low expenses of implant satisfied the patients(p<0.05). Conclusions : As implant technology advances, the concern of patients on implants also increase. So reduction of cost can make the patients have access to the dentist and the patients' oral health must be improved through continuous dental care.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Excessive sugar consumption may increase the risk for development of several diseases. Although average dietary sugar intake of Koreans is within the recommended level, an increasing trend has been found in all age groups. This study aimed to evaluate the population attributable fractions (PAF) to dietary sugar for disease and death in Korea, and to estimate the socioeconomic effects of a reduction in dietary sugar. MATERIALS/METHODS: The prevalence of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSB) overconsumption (${\geq}20g$ of sugar from beverages) was analyzed using the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2015. Disease-specific relative risks of excessive SSB consumption were obtained through reviewing previous studies. Using the prevalence of SSB overconsumption and each relative risk, PAFs for morbidity and mortality were calculated. Socioeconomic costs of diseases and death attributable to SSB overconsumption were estimated by using representative data on national medical expenditures, health insurance statistics, employment information, and previous reports. RESULTS: Disease-specific PAF to SSB consumption ranged from 3.11% for stroke to 9.05% for obesity and dental caries, respectively. Costs from disease caused by SSB overconsumption was estimated at 594 billion won in 2015. About 39 billion won was estimated to be from SSB consumption-related deaths, and a total of 633 billion won was predicted to have been saved through preventing SSB overconsumption. CONCLUSIONS: Sugars overconsumption causes considerable public burdens, although the cost estimates do not include any informal expenditure. Information on these socioeconomic effects helps both health professionals and policy makers to create and to implement programs for reducing sugar consumption.
This study aims at analyzing the management strategy and performance of companies that have been pursuing Generational Diversity. The management strategies were examined in terms of production, organizational structure and skill development. Performance was then evaluated using Balanced Scorecard (BSC). We selected four Japanese companies that practice Generational Diversity between the younger(age less then 34) and older generation(age older then 65). Our findings suggest the following. The common management strategies of the four companies include 1) creating generation-diverse teams 2) ensuring flexible work arrangements and 3) providing skill training programs. These strategies have yield positive outcomes such as sales increase, cost reduction (financial perspective) and expansion of the market share (customer perspective). Non-financial performance includes improvement of product and service quality (internal business perspective) and skill improvement of both the young and the old workers (learning and growth perspective). This study provides practical implications to domestic companies for their successful management of generational diversity in workplace.
Objectives : The aim of this study was to develop a clinical pathway (CP) model for the integrative treatment of non-invasive breast cancer, with western medicine and Korean traditional medicine. Methods : The checklist model was composed in four types according to the target patients: DCIS inpatients, DCIS outpatients, LCIS inpatients, LCIS outpatients. The vertical axis of the pathway consists of 11 categories of actions applied to the patient. The horizontal axis was in accordance with the flow of time, comprising three periods during inpatient care and seven periods during outpatient care. In addition, CP was also composed in flow chart form. The pathway model was developed through a literature review of clinical practice guidelines, conference publications, papers, books, and websites. Results : The integrative CP model for non-invasive breast cancer was developed. Conclusions : The goal of the CP suggested in this study was to improve non-invasive breast cancer patients' quality of life and to supplement conventional treatment, by alleviating the side effects. The model developed through this study could serve as the basis when developing CPs in a real-world integrative medical environment. This could lead to a reduction in cost and time for CP development, thus bringing about efficiency in the clinical setting.
