  • Recently, pressure grouting is widely being used in construction site for strength improvement of ground and water proof, reinforcement and so on. It is necessarily required to estimate an appropriate injection pressure and injection time for economical and reasonable construction in the site through the size and shape of the hardened grout measured according to ground condition. However, sampling for the hardened grout is time-consuming and needs high cost on preliminary test in the site. The system which could predict the size and shape of the hardened grout does not exist until now. Thus, numerical method based on VOF method and porous model was used for the calibration chamber injection test with injection pressure (50 kPa, 100 kPa, 150 kPa) in this study. The results indicate that the numerical technique based on VOF method and porous model among CFD analysis is expected to be a basic study for the prediction of the behavior and solidification of pressure grouting.

  • Housing Re-Development business is to improve the environment of old residential area and secure insufficient infrastructure facilities for the public, and to provide housing of fine quality for the individuals and it is taken as an opportunity for the individuals to be able to increase their property. However, it is true that the benefits from the redevelopment has not offered to the original dwellers who has lived there for a long time. This research studies the related systems of the Rental House Redevelopment Supply Service and is to present the schema to raise resettlement rate through the investment on the rate of tenants who chose the rental house and their specific characters. This study is to present the reform measures about the following 3 problems, on the basis of prior theoretical studies which deals with the common factors having low rate to move in the rental house of the tenants. (1) Physical side, the problem of supply structure, which is not appropriate Housing Supply Structure, (2) Psychological side, the problem of socially excluded rental house residents (3) Economical side, low re-settlement rate of tenants caused from the unreasonableness of the estimated rental value. This study presents that the compulsory rental housing supply rate should be changed to the gross area not from the number of households, and the supply of rental houses should correspond to the household size of tenants through prior demand survey. Secondly, it proposes the housing complex layout for intermixing to solve the social problems to allow a housing for sale and rental houses mixing in a building. And it proposes that the rental value should be calculated considering the neighboring value and in the long run, it should be calculated considering the tenants' income instead construction cost estimate. Also, it should be arranged to provide an opportunity to create income through resident welfare center improvement and provide self-sufficiency functions leading residents to participate in the residential area's repairing and maintenances.

  • To reduce the cost and volume of a digital camera, a subsampled color filter array(CFA) image is used and demosaicking is applied to estimate the missing color values. However, aliasing, the overlaps of signals in the frequency domain, occurs when signals are subsampled. This causes aliasing artifacts such as false colors and zipper effects in demosaicking processes. In this paper, the algorithm estimating high-quality color images by removing aliasing artifacts in them is proposed. The aliasing region map is estimated using the sub-sampled signals of the CFA image. By using the aliasing region map and the estimated luminance image, the least squares problem of the observation models is designed and aliasing artifacts are eliminated. The experiments demonstrate that the proposed algorithm restores color images without aliasing artifacts.

  • In this paper, we propose a modified optimization algorithm for point cloud matching of multi-view RGB-D cameras. In general, in the computer vision field, it is very important to accurately estimate the position of the camera. The 3D model generation methods proposed in the previous research require a large number of cameras or expensive 3D cameras. Also, the methods of obtaining the external parameters of the camera through the 2D image have a large error. In this paper, we propose a matching technique for generating a 3D point cloud and mesh model that can provide omnidirectional free viewpoint using 8 low-cost RGB-D cameras. We propose a method that uses a depth map-based function optimization method with RGB images and obtains coordinate transformation parameters that can generate a high-quality 3D model without obtaining initial parameters.

  • This paper proposes a system for measuring the 3D human bodies using the multiple 2D images. The system establishes the multiple image input circumstance from the digital camera for image measurement. The algorithm considering perspective projection leads us to estimate the 3D human bodies from the multiple 2D images such as frontal. side and rear views. The results of the image measurement is compared those of the direct measurement and the 3D scanner for the total 40 items (12 heights, 15 widths and 13 depths). Three persons measure the 40 items using the three measurement methods. In comparison of the results obtained among the measurement methods and the persons, the results between the image measurement and the 3D scanner are very similar. However, the errors for the direct measurement are relatively larger than those between the image measurement and the 3D scanner. For example, the maximum errors between the image measurement and the 3D scanner are 0.41cm in height, 0.39cm in width and 0.95cm in depth. The errors are acceptable in body measurement. Performance of the image measurement is superior to the direct. because the algorithm estimates the 3D positions using the perspective projection. In above comparison, the image measurement is expected as a new method for measuring the 3D body, since it has the various advantages of the direct measurement and 3D scanner in performance for measurement as well as in the devices, cost, Portability and man power.

  • It is of great importance to localize leakages in complex pipelines for assuring their safety. A sensor array that can detect where leakages occur enables us to monitor a wide area with a relatively low cost. Beamforming is a fast and efficient algorithm to estimate where sources are, but it is generally made use of in free field condition. In practice, however, many pipelines are placed in a closed space for the purpose of safety and maintenance. This leads us to take reflected waves into account to the beamforming for interior leakage localization. Beam power distribution of reflected waves in a closed space is formulated, and spatial average is introduced to suppress the effect of reflected waves. Computer simulations and experiments ensure how the proposed method is effective to localize leakage in a closed space for structural health monitoring.

  • In order to consider high-order effects on the actual limit state function, a new response surface method is proposed for structural reliability analysis by the use of high-order approximation concept in this study. Hermite polynomials are used to determine the highest orders of input random variables, and the sampling points for the determination of highest orders are located on Gaussian points of Gauss-Hermite integration. The cross terms between two random variables, only in case that their corresponding percent contributions to the total variation of limit state function are significant, will be added to the response surface function to improve the approximation accuracy. As a result, significant reduction in computational cost is achieved with this strategy. Due to the addition of cross terms, the additional sampling points, laid on two-dimensional Gaussian points off axis on the plane of two significant variables, are required to determine the coefficients of the approximated limit state function. All available sampling points are employed to construct the final response surface function. Then, Monte Carlo Simulation is carried out on the final approximation response surface function to estimate the failure probability. Due to the use of high order polynomial, the proposed method is more accurate than the traditional second-order or linear response surface method. It also provides much more efficient solutions than the available high-order response surface method with less loss in accuracy. The efficiency and the accuracy of the proposed method compared with those of various response surface methods available are illustrated by five numerical examples.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to perform an economic analysis and estimate the fee for the practices that carried out by Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) using relative value scale (RVS) and its conversion factor. Methods: First, we developed ENP's RVS for 25 advanced nursing services based on ENP's workload and its time spent by survey. A cost analysis was performed to evaluate the conversion factor of ENP's RVS. The share of ENP's contribution to fee-for-service in emergency setting was also analyzed. Results: Calculation of the RVS of 25 advanced nursing practices showed a range of points from 73.4 to 296.3 and an average of 145.1 points. The relevant conversion factor for advanced nursing practices among ENP was estimated at 12.2~15.9 won. The contribution rate of ENP's advanced nursing practices in the relative value scale of the national health insurance was estimated at 13.1~17.0%. Conclusion: The practices of ENP are not compensated separately and its reimbursement is usually included in physician fee. An estimation of nursing fee and an independent fee related to ENP's services shows the contribution rate to total revenue. It suggests that emergency nurse practitioners be considered as a revenue source the in emergency room.

  • It is known that the road noise on the rear seat of a hatchback type car is worse than that of a sedan type car because of the weakness on sealing structure. Therefore, a sound sealing system and sufficient absorption/insulation performance are required. In the case of a compact segment car, however, the application of the sufficient absorption and insulation materials is limited, because of the restriction on the production cost and weight of the car. In this study, we estimate the noise transmission path on the vehicle's body structure from tires and ground using the PBNR (Power Based Noise Reduction) method which is useful in quantitative measurement. Based on these results, we suggest an alternative absorption/insulation method for the better performance of rear seat road noise reduction in a compact hatchback car.

  • Installation of earth grounding system is essential to ensure personnel safety and correct operation of electrical equipment. Earth parameters, especially, soil resistivity has to be determined in designing an efficient earth grounding system. The most common applied technique to measure soil resistance is Wenner four-point method. Implementation of this method is expensive, time consuming and cumbersome as large set of measurements with variable electrode spacing are required to obtain a one dimensional resistivity plot. It is advantageous to have a method which is of low cost and provides fast measurements. In this perspective, electrical resistance tomography (ERT) is applied to estimate subsurface resistivity profile. Electrical resistance tomograms characterize the soil resistivity distribution based on the measurements from electrodes placed in the region of interest. The nonlinear ill-posed inverse problem is solved using iterated Gauss-Newton method with Tikhonov regularization. Through extensive numerical simulations, it is found that ERT offers promising performance in estimating the three-dimensional soil resistivity distribution.
