온라인 화장품 광고의 희소성 메시지 설득효과: 제품 유형의 조절효과를 중심으로 (Persuasion Effects of Scarcity Message in Online Cosmetic Advertising: Focused on Moderating Effect of Product Type)

  • This study was intended to identify the persuasion effects of online cosmetic advertising according to scarcity message type and product type. For the experiment, 4 stimuli were developed as experimental stimuli for the 2(scarcity message type: quantity scarcity message vs distinctiveness scarcity message) X 2(product type: hedonic product vs utilitarian product) factorial design. Participants were 160 students, and they allocated 40 students in each group. They responded a questionnaire. The results were as follows. First, distinctiveness scarcity message showed more effective than quantity scarcity message in advertising attitude, product attitude, brand attitude, and purchase intention. Second, hedonic product showed more effective than utilitarian product in advertising attitude, product attitude, brand attitude, advertising attention, click-through intention, and purchase intention. Third, there was interaction effect according to scarcity message type and product type on the aspect of advertising attitude, advertisement attention, and click-through intention.

  • To identify inhibitory effect of Bamboo extract on melanogenesis, the effect was compared with arbutin, ascorbic acid, hydroquinone, and kojic acid on the melanin biosynthesis in B16 mouse melanoma cells and cultured human melanocytes. The cell viability of the agent was tested on cultured human melanocytes. We also examined its. free radical scavenging activity on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH). Bamboo extract showed considerable effect against melanin production and did not reduce cell viability at the concentration tested. It also showed potent free radical scavenging activity.

  • This study aimed to review the influence of the World War I & II on the beauty culture which include toilette practices, cosmetic products and health habits. Literary materials were gathered and analyzed from books, journals and thesis concerning cosmetics, fashion and background history. Results are as follows: 1. Women's appearance gained social and official approval of its psychological and practical effect during the two wars and was regarded as an important strategy for the war. 2. The chemical industry helped to set forth an aggressive make up industry. 3. The orthopedic technique,1 of the war period resulted in the advancement of the plastic surgery business in the after war world. 4. After the First World War, the newly-risen American bourgeoisies' desire to show off their leisure activities provided from their wealth popularized suntan fast. 5. Strong, vital womanly beauty had been demanded in accordance with women's positive social Participation during the Second World War.

Testing the effects of natural products on hair growth in stumptailed macauqe

  • The effect of natural products(drug 1, drug 2) on hair growth of frontal scalp of ten stumptailed macaques was investigated in period of 12 months. Drug 1 conteins extracts of Angelica gigantis Radix ok. and drug 2 conteins extracts of Corm Fructus, etc. Photographs of close view of the frontal scalp were taken once every month and folliclogram analysis has been done at pretretment and on 5th, 10th and 12th month after treatment. Drug 1 showed only slight effect or no effect on hair growth and drug 2 exhibited a significant degree of hair regrowth, but the control group exhibited a definite degree of regrowth and increasing density of vellum hair. Also, the physiological parameters, such as body weight, blood pressure, heart rate, serum levels of androgens, hematological measures during the treatment of drug 1, drug 2, and vehicle, were within normal limits. It indicates the drug 2 is the possible appearance of new summit of hair growth.

갈근, 복령 및 황련의 항산화성 및 미백효과 (Antioxidative Property and Whitening Effect of the Pueraria Radix, Poria Cocos and Coptidis Rhizoma)

  • In order to fine antioxidant and whitening agent source from nature, the comparisons of antioxidative activity and tyrosinase inhibitory activity were carried out for various ethanol extract on Pueraria Radix, Poria Cocos, and Coptidis Rhizoma. Comparing for three ethanol extracts, the highest electron donating ability was found at Poria Cocos (81.2%), but, the highest SOD-like ability, at the Coptidis Rhizoma(58%). Xanthine oxidase experiment exhibited 23.3% of hindrance effect in Pueraria Radix, and 79.3% in Poria Cocos. To evaluate at the whitening effect, tyrosinase inhibitory activity was conducted. Tyrosinase inhibitory activity was detected at 17.9% in the Puerariae Radix, 5.2% in the Poria Cocos and 83.3% in the Coptidis Rhizoma. From these results, we suggest that the ethanol extracts from Pueraria Radix, Poria Cocos, and Coptidis Rhizoma can be used for cosmetic ingredients.

한국산 배과피 폴리페놀 분획군의 생리활성효과 (Biological Activity of Polyphenol Group Fraction from Korean Pear Peel)

  • 한국산 배과피의 기능성 원료로서의 가능성을 알아보기 위하여 폴리페놀 성분을 분획하여 그 생리활성 및 암세포증식능에 대하여 살펴보았다. 전자공여능에서는 50 ppm에서 분획물 II, III에서 80% 이상으로 나타났으며 SOD 유사능은 분획물 II, III의 500 ppm군에서 50-60%의 효과가 인정되었다. 통풍과 관련있는 xanthin oxidase 실험에서는 분획물 I의 저해 효과는 미미하였으나 II와 III에서는 50 ppm에서도 80%에 이르는 높은 저해효과가 관찰되었으며, 유선암세포(MDA) 생육억제 실험에서는 분획물 II보다 III가 높은 증식억제능을, 2,000 ppm에서는 약 60%의 억제능을 나타내었고, 전립선암(PC-3)의 세포억제효과에서는 III보다 II에서 오히려 억제 효과가 높았고, 500 ppm에서 약 23%의 억제효과가 관찰되어 한국산 배과피의 기능성 소재로서의 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Purpose: Women have desired for beauty. And many side effects of plastic surgery have been proven. So safe treatment is expected in recent years. To develop oriental medical treatment on women's cosmetic area, the studies that prove the effect and principle of oriental treatment will be conducted. So, we want to know what kind of research have been done. Methods: We researched for paper which is associated with the cosmetic acupuncture in the Korean journals. The research date is 10th May, 2010. Results: 15 papers were found. Most of papers were written since the year of 2006. And most of papers are written in the Journal of Korean Acupunture & Moxibustion Society. And most of papers deal with subjects about facial acupucture. Conclusion: There is a lack of research on cosmetic area with oriental treatment, so further reseach is needed to comprise large proportion of cosmetic area.

비드밀과 고압 호모게나이저를 이용한 나노 분산체의 제조 및 자외선 차단 효과에 대한 연구 (Study on the In Vitro Sun Protection Factor Effect of Nanosuspensions Prepared Using Bead Mill and High Pressure Homogenizer)

  • The aim of the present work was to prepare the nanosuspension of inorganic pigment which shows light reflection and scattering as efficient sunscreen. The zinc oxide (ZnO) was chosen as an inorganic pigment, and high pressure homogenizer and bead mill have been used for the preparation of nanosuspension. The ZnO nanosuspensions were characterized by particle size, in vitro sun protection factor (SPF) and UV transmittance. ZnO nanosuspension prepared by bead mill showed the average diameter of $119{\pm}4\;nm$, resulting in the high value of SPF $(28.74{\pm}2.06,\;n=20)$, while that prepared by high pressure homogenizer showed the average diameter of $751{\pm}32\;nm$ with the relative lower value of SPF $(21.38{\pm}1.94\;n=20)$. In addition, the film of ZnO nanosuspension prepared by bead mill was showed a high visible ray (VIS) transmittance, indicating a high transparency. In conclusion, a physically stable ZnO nanosuspension in cyclomethicone was successfully prepared using bead mill for the suitable sunscreen preparations.

한방화장품의 브랜드 이미지에 관한 연구 (A Study On the Brand Image of Korean Herbal Cosmetics)

  • This paper provides comparison and analysis between brand images of Korean herbal cosmetics and general, imported cosmetic brands, focusing on product's symbolic and functional images. The objective is to evaluate brand images of Korean herbal cosmetics to suggest a powerful brand image strategy that will be different and competitive. Data collection was performed on 300 adult women who were over 20 years of age and lived in Seoul or KyongKi area. Analysis was carried out using SPSS version 11.5 and frequency analysis, T-Test and $X^2$ verification was also performed. Analysis results for brand images of Korean herbal cosmetics are as follows. First, satisfaction scale as a purchase feature for users of Korean herbal cosmetics were 'Normal' 51.5%, 'Satisfactory' 35.1%, 'Very Satisfactory' 8.2% and 'Unsatisfactory' 5.2%. Regarding improvements, 'Efficacy, Effect' was the highest with 46%. Second, 'SEOLHWASOO' and 'BAEKOKSENG' among Korean herbal cosmetic brands, 'IOPE' and 'ISA KNOX' among general cosmetic brands and 'LANCOME' and 'CHANEL' among imported cosmetic brands displayed high recognition. Third, the symbolic and functional images of Korean herbal cosmetic brands were seen to be better compared to their general and imported counterparts. Especially, product related features of Korean herbal cosmetic brands received a more positive response compared to imported brands, which suggests that with research and improvement regarding non-product related features, functional images of herbal brands may be appraised ahead of imported brands. Fourth, there is a significant difference in brand preference according to the satisfaction of groups who actually use herbal cosmetics and the purchasing attitudes of groups who do not. Therefore, an active relationship marketing strategy is required to maximize satisfaction and to elicit favorable attitudes. By developing functional native ingredients, constructing data that can prove its efficacy and effects, and appealing its unique, differentiated symbolic value together with Orientalism, herbal medicines will be able to take off to be acknowledged worldwide.

Study on preparation of chitosan microcapsule

  • Unstable cosmetic active ingredients could be degraded rapidly by chemical and photochemical process. Particularly, some of active ingredients like retinol are known to cause skin irritation when applied on the skin excessively. Therefore, it has become a very important issue to encapsulate cosmetic actives for the stabilization and skin protection. This study was performed in order to prepare a chitosan microcapsule containing liposoluble cosmetic actives and to investigate the stabilization effect of actives when chitosan microcapsule was applied in cosmetic formulation. Chitosan, deacetylated form of chitin, has been of interest in the industrial applications due to its biocompatibility, biodegradability, non-toxicity, antimicrobial activity and also used as a wall material of capsule. Retinol was used as a core material and was stabilized by a wall of chitosan and antioxidants. The chitosan microcapsule containing retinol(CMR) was prepared by using coacervation method and W$_1$/O/W$_2$ emulsification techniques. The CMR has 0.5~10.0 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ size distribution and a long-term stability of more than an year inside the cosmetic formulation(O/W). Remaining retinol percentages at 45$^{\circ}C$ after 8 weeks in the CMR dispersion were 15.6%(pH 4.0), 59.8%(pH 6.0) and 65.0%(pH 6.0 with antioxidant) respectively. Retinol stability when added CMR inside a ONV emulsion was better than that of ONV emulsion added non-capsulated retinol. As a result, remaining retinol at 45$^{\circ}C$ after 8 weeks in O/W emulsion added non-capsulated retinol and O/W emulsion containing CMR was 12.7%, 70.5% respectively. It appeared that chitosan treated microcapsule may be used for a potential encapsulation method of unstable active ingredients.
