Sintered $Fe_3Al$ Intermetallic - A New Filter Element for Hot Gas Filtration

  • Gas filtration at high temperature from industrial processes offers various advantages such as increasing process efficiency, improving heat recovery and materials resource recovery, etc. At the same time, it is an advanced environment protection technology. This paper describes a newly developed metallic filter element. The manufacturing process of sintered $Fe_3Al$ metallic powder and the mechanical and filtration characteristics of this filter element were investigated. In this work, the phase constituent changes of the $Fe_3Al$ powder during sintering were studied. The newly developed filter elements were found to have excellent corrosion resistance, good thermal resistance, high strength and high filtration efficiency.

  • 시화 방조제상에 공사중인 국내최초, 세계최대용량의 조력발전소에 25,400kW의 벌브형 수차발전기 10대를 설치함에 따라서 해수에 의한 부식으로부터 설비를 보호하기 위한 전기방식을 적용하였다. 전기방식 설계는 설비의 재질에 따라 요구되는 단위 면적당 전류밀도가 상이하고 발전기의 운전상태에 따라 소요되는 각기 다른 수량의 양극과 수차발전기를 제어하는 주 제어시스템과의 통신이 필수인 지능화된 정류기가 요구되어진다. WEB 기반의 감시제어시스템 구성시 외부 또는 장소에 제한없이 전기방식 설비의 정상 가동여부, Alarm, Fault 상태 등을 실시간 접속하여 확인이 가능하고 담당 직원 또는 지정된 사람의 휴대폰에 문자메세지를 통한 상태 알림 기능을 자동으로 제공할 수 있도록 구성하였다.

  • 매설관로상의 전기방식에 대한 경제성을 비교하는 자료는 미국 루지에나주에서 실제로 방식/비방식관로를 구성하고 15년간의 대이타를 기준으로 분석한 내용이 있으나, 실제 우리나라의 대부분의 수도관은 도심지지하에 가스관, 지중시설물 등 각종 설비와 함께 매설되어 메탈터치 및 간섭에 의한 집중부식구간이 우려되는 구간이 많을뿐 아니라 이종 관류에 의한 부식구간도 많아 외국의 데이터를 그대로 적용할수 없어 국내의 공신력있는 실험 데이터를 확보하여 구체적인 경제성을 검증하여 투자의 적정성을 확보하는데 이 연구의 목적이 있음

  • Metalization technology of the fine patterns by electroless plating is required in place of electrodeposition as high-density printed boards(PCR) become indispensable with the miniaturization of electronic components. Electroless nickel plating is a suitable diffusion barrier between conductor meta1s, such as Al and Cu and solder is essetional in electronic packaging in order to sustain a long period of service. Moreover, Electroless nickel has particular characteristics including non-magnetic property, amorphous structure. wear resistance, corrosion protection and thermal stability In this study fundamental aspects of electroless nickel deposition were studied with effort of complexeing agents of different kinds. Then the property of electroless deposit are controlled by the composition of the deposition solution the deposition condition such as temperature and pH value and so on. the characteristics of the deposits has been carried out.

  • Shanghai Institute of Metallurgy(SIM), Chinese Academy of Sciences is a multioriented applied science reaearch institution that was founded in 1928. The current principal research activities of SIM cover three areas, namely, microelecronics, functional materials and devices, corrosion and protection of metals. The general information of SIM, includes history, personnel, organization, etc., is provided. The main research laboratories and R&D themes are introduced also. SIM has made great contributions to the economic construction and development of science and technoloty of the nation. China is facing a golden opportunity for development and SIM is playing an important role in translating research results into large-scale, commercial productions. Several successful examples are shown. SIM has been active in promoting international collaboration in research and development. The international cooperative projects in SIM are reviewed. SIM is facing the world, and going toward the 21st century.

  • The morphology and composition of anodic films, formed on aluminium at various current densities, in the range 1-$100{\;}Am^{-2}$, in the molten bisulphate melt at different temperatures (418-498K), have been studied using transmission electron microscopy of ultramicrotomed film sections, and ion beam thinned films. From the structural analysis of the electron diffraction patterns taken from the ultramicrotomed sections and ion beam thinned films, it can be concluded that the crystal modification process from ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3{\;}to{\;}{\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ proceeds in the following steps : (equation omitted)

  • The morphology and composition of anodic films, formed on aluminium at various current densities, in the range $1-100{\;}Am^{-2}$, in the molten bisulphate melt at different temperatures (418-498K), have been studied using transmission electron microscopy of ultramicrotomed film sections, and ion beam thinned films. The first sign of incipient breakdown revealed by transmission electron microscopy of stripped films, is always the appearance of dark regions about 1,000 nm in diameter, representing local overgrowth of the film. The breakdown mechanism is closely related to thermal effects, because temperature rises at regions representing local overgrowth in the stripped films were observed at voltages close to the breakdown voltage, likely arising through impact ionization.

  • 음극방식법은 가혹한 해수 환경에 노출된 항만 및 해양구조물 등의 부식을 방지함에 있어 매우 유용한 방식법이다. 여기서는 이러한 음극방식 응용 원리에 의해 무한한 자원인 해수를 이용하여 환경 친화적인 코팅막 제작-시도를 하였다. 즉, 본 연구에서는 해수 환경 중 선박 및 해양구조물 등에 주로 사용되는 강재를 기판으로 하여 양극 조건 및 인가 전류밀도를 달리하여 코팅막을 제작하였으며, 조건에 따라 제작된 코팅막을 SEM, EDS, XRD를 통해 조성원소 및 결정구조를 분석하였다. 또한 밀착성 및 내식성 평가를 통해 실용 코팅막으로써의 한계를 보완한 코팅막 제작 프로세스의 기초 설계 지침을 제시하고자 하였다.

Simple Evaluation Method of Uplift Resistance for Frictional Shallow Anchors in Rock

  • This paper presents the results of full-scale load tests performed frictional anchors to various lengths at several sites in Korea. Various rock types were tested, ranging from highly weathered shale to sound gneiss. In many tests, rock failure was reached and the ultimate loads were recorded along with observations of the shape and extent of the failure surface. Laboratory tests were also conducted to investigate the influence of the corrosion protection sheath on the bond strength. Based on test results, the main parameters governing the uplift capacity of the rock anchor system were determined. By evaluation of the ultimate uplift capacity of anchor foundations in a wide range of in situ rock masses, rock classification suitable for structural foundation was developed. Finally, a very simple and economical design procedure is proposed for rock anchor foundations subjected to uplift tensile loads.

  • 극성이 일정한 주기로 교번되는 교류 접지 환경과 달리, 직류 접지 환경에서 접지극은 지속적으로 (+) 또는 (-) 극성을 유지하게 된다. 이때 (+) 극성을 가지는 접지극은 산화반응에 의해 전식이 진행된다. 이러한 (+) 접지극의 전식을 막기 위해, 보호전극을 사용하여 (+) 접지극에 흐르는 누설전류의 극성과 반대로 직류전류를 흘려줌으로써 (+) 접지극에 흐르는 전류가 0A가 되도록 할 수 있다. 하지만 (+) 접지극을 보호하는 과정에서 보호전극은 산화반응으로 인한 전식 현상이 발생하여 손상이 진행된다. (+) 접지극을 전식으로부터 보호하면서도 보호전극의 사용 수명을 연장시키기 위해, 보호전극에 흐르는 전류의 평균값이 (+) 접지극에 흐르는 누설전류의 크기와 같으면서 PWM 펄스파형의 형태가 나타나도록 하였다. 본 연구에서는 일정 시간 동안 보호극 전원의 주파수에 따른 보호극의 전식정도를 실험을 통해 분석하였다. 실험에서 PWM 펄스파형의 주파수는 0.1Hz, 1Hz, 8Hz, 10Hz, 20Hz, 50Hz, 100Hz, 1kHz를 고려하였다. 실험 및 분석을 통해 저압직류(LVDC) 접지 환경에서 (+) 전극 및 보호전극의 전식손상을 낮출 수 있는 최적의 주파수 조건을 제시한다.
