This study tested the relations of schools organizational climate and teachers' job stresses, perceived by 913 teachers from 45 elementary, junior- and senior-high schools. Pearson's correlation analysis for the relations between the sub-factors of both organizational climate and job stresses and cannonical correlation analysis for the relative contribution of individual variable of organizational climate upon job stress were applied for the test. The results of Pearson's correlation analysis showed that while 'intimacy', 'esprit', 'considerations', and 'production emphasis' climate had negative correlations with job stress sub-factors, 'disengagement' and 'aloofness' climate had positive correlation. 'Student guidance', a sub-factor of job stresses, did not have statistically significant correlation with any sub-factors of organizational climate. Findings from cannonical correlation analysis showed 2 significant cannonical functions to explain the relations between the sets of variables. 'Disengagement' from organizational climate positively contributed with 'authority forfeiture' and 'dissention and conflict' of the job stresses variables.
The radar interferogram represents phase differences between the two synthetic aperture radar observations acquired in slightly different angle. The success of the radar interferometric application largely depends on the quality of the interferogram generated from two or more synthetic aperture radar data sets. We propose here to apply the wavenumber correlation analysis to the in-phase and quadrature phase of the radar interferogram. The wavenumber correlation analysis is to resolve the highly correlated components from the low correlation components by estimating correlation coefficients for each wavenumber component. Through this approach, one can easily distinguish the signal components from the noise components in the wavenumber domain. Therefore, the wavenumber correlation analysis of the radar interferogram can be utilized to design post filter and to estimate the quality of interferogram. We have tested the wavenumber correlation analysis using a Radarsat SAR data pair to demonstrated the effectiveness of

In this study, we evaluated current raingauge network of Soyanggang dam region applying spatial-correlation analysis and Entropy theory to recommend an optimized raingauge network. In the process of analysis, correlation distance of raingauge stations is estimated and evaluated via spatial-correlation method and entropy method. From this correlation distances, respective influencing radii of each dataset and each methods is assessed. The result of correlation and entropy analysis has estimated correlation distance of 25.546km and influence radius of 7.206km, deducing a decrease of network density from $224.53km^2$ to $122.47km^2$ which satisfy the recommended minimum densities of $250km^2$ in mountainous regions(WMO, 1994) and an increase of basin coverage from 59.3% to 86.8%. As for the elevation analysis the relative evaluation ratio increased from 0.59(current) to 0.92(optimized) resulting an obvious improvement.

Categorical data are mostly found in oriental medical research. The nonlinear canonical correlation analysis does not assume an interval level of measurement. In this paper, we apply nonlinear canonical correlation analysis to quantification and explain how similar sets of variables are to one another for paralysis disease data.

In this paper, we present a permutation test to select the number of pairs of canonical variates in canonical correlation analysis. The existing chi-squared test is known to be limited to normality in use. We compare the existing test with the proposed permutation test and study their asymptotic behaviors through numerical studies. In addition, we connect canonical correlation analysis to regression and we we show that certain inferences in regression can be done through canonical correlation analysis. A regression analysis of real data through canonical correlation analysis is illustrated.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to find out whether if there is correlation between the pattern differentiation questionnaire and edema index of body composition analysis. Methods The authors obtained results of pattern differentiation Questionnaires and body composition analysis tests from 195 female patients who visited the Oriental gynecology department in Kyung Hee university Oriental medicine hospital at Gang-dong. The authors conducted correlation analysis between indicators of Body composition analysis and each part of the pattern differentiation Questionnaire. Pearson correlation analysis was performed on SPSS version 13.0 for windows. Results There was negative correlation between the Phlegm Questionnaire and right arm ECF, left arm ECF, and left arm ECW of the Body composition index. There was no correlation between Yin-deficiency Questionnaire and Body composition index. There was no correlation between Heat pattern Questionnaire and Body composition index. There was positive correlation between the Cold pattern Questionnaire and right leg ECF, and right leg ECW of the body composition index. There was no correlation between degree of edema self-awareness and Body composition index. Conclusions The result showed that each Questionnaire score has different correlation or even no correlation with Body composition index and degree of edema self-awareness. Further studies are needed for a better understanding and interpretation of the relationship between edema index on Body composition analysis and Questionnaires.
Although lots of safety inspection and precision safety diagnosis have been conducted on concrete retaining wall, there is no comprehensive analysis on the basis of the accumulated data associated with the statistic. Especially, the concentrated management is necessary on the evaluation items that cause critical damages for the efficient performance. In this regard, this study conducted a correlation analysis between the 18 condition evaluation items and defect index for the concrete retaining wall as well as how each item affects the final defect index as much as in the manual. As a result, correlation coefficient between sliding and overturning was 0.601, which means that they have a strong correlation, and the most influential item on defect index is the condition of drainage that scored the 0.750 correlation coefficient. In addition, as a result of regression analysis, the condition of drainage with the 0.683 correlation coefficient has a strong correlation with the defect index. If the condition evaluation items are integrated or readjusted based on the results of the statistical analysis in this study, the more efficient and accurate maintenance will be possible.
This research is an attempt to obtain more accurate land cover information from LANDSAT images. Canonical correlation analysis, which has not been widely used in the image classification community, was applied to the classification of a LANDSAT images. It was found that it is easy to select training areas on the classification using canonical correlation analysis in comparison with the maximum likelihood classifier of $ERDAS^{(R)}$ software. In other words, the selected positions of training areas hardly affect the classification results using canonical correlation analysis. when the same training areas are used, the mapping accuracy of the canonical correlation classification results compared with the ground truth data is not lower than that of the maximum likelihood classifier. The kappa analysis for the canonical correlation classifier and the maximum likelihood classifier showed that the two methods are alike in classification accuracy. However, the canonical correlation classifier has better points than the maximum likelihood classifier in classification characteristics. Therefore, the classification using canonical correlation analysis applied in this research is effective for the extraction of land cover information from LANDSAT images and will be able to be put to practical use.
Biplot is a useful graphical method to explore simultaneously rows and columns of two-way data matrix. In particular, canonical correlation biplot is a method for investigating two sets of variables and observations in canonical correlation analysis graphically. For more than three sets of variables, we can apply the generalized canonical correlation biplot in generalized canonical correlation analysis which is an expansion of the canonical correlation analysis. On the other hand, we consider the set of covariate variables which is affecting the linearly two sets of variables. In this case, if we apply the generalized canonical correlation biplot, we cannot clearly interpret the other two sets of variables due to the effect of the set of covariate variables. Therefor, in this paper, we will apply the partial canonical correlation analysis of Rao (1969) removing the linear effect of the set of covariate variables on two sets of variables. We will suggest the partial canonical correlation biplot for inpreting the partial canonical correlation analysis graphically.
Assuming that EEG(electroencephalogram), which is generated by a nonlinear electrical of billions of neurons in the brain, has chaotic characteristics, it is confirmend by frequency spectrum analysis, log frequency spectrum analysis, correlation dimension analysis and Lyapunov exponents analysis. Some chaotic characteristics are related to the degree of brain activity. The slope of log frequency spectrum increases and the correlation dimension decreasess with respect to the activities, while the largest Lyapunov exponent has only a rough correlation.
