To accomplish these objective, we collect financial and market data of KRX listing firms for a period of 2001-2013. We present evidence of significant effect of life-cycle on the cash holdings determinants and marginal value of cash. Specially, the effect of investment opportunity related variable are varies through life-cycle. The results also suggest that marginal values of cash in the introduction stage and exit stage is higher than those in other stages. Overall, this means that the motive of cash holdings in Korean firms is weak. and shareholders place different value on a firm's cash holdings depending on the life-cycle.

  • This research proposes a new approach to measure corporate contributions to sustainability called Sustainable Value. With some global corporations which recognize the seriousness of environmental crisis and their social responsibility, enterprises are positively accepting the sustainable management. Also, publication of the sustainability report is proliferating which is showing the enterprise's strategy, activity, result and influence in environmental, economic, social cases to the stakeholder. However, to settle and proliferate this current, it rests with how to evaluate enterprises sustainability in reasonable and reliable figure. In this context, what introduced and taking effects are sustainability report evaluation and awarding system. But the quality of sun stainability report and its content's depth and the evaluation of enterprise's sustainability itself should be distinguished. Because the enterprise which published excellent graded sustainability report is not always the enterprise that is sustainable. Then, how could we prove the result of enterprise's sustainable management based on sustainability report? This paper is to find the answer and to utilize it based on sustainability report, particularly sustainable value model as the central figure.

To this end, we conducted an electronic survey of dental patients in Shanghai, China, and retrieved 345 copies of the effective sample, using SPSS 26.0 for the purpose of the study. To summarize the results: First, all factors of service quality have had a positive impact on satisfaction and perceived value. Second, perceived values have a positive effect on satisfaction. Third, perceived values have been analyzed to have a partial mediated effect in the relationship between service quality and satisfaction, and research on dental users in China and Korea has shown almost similar results. It shows that high-quality dental services are essential to enhancing management capabilities.

  • Pressure ripple, vibration and noise level are measured in each parts of the power steering system. MD(Mahalanobis Distance) is calculated by using MTS(Mahalanobis Taguchi System) with measured data, and noise sensitive components are selected. The components applied detail design parameters are made and data is measured. After that MD is calculated also. Mean value and SN ratio can be obtained from the MD. Effective noise reduction technique and dominant design parameters in hydraulic power steering system are introduced.

  • This paper provides an empirical analysis of the winner's curse in the context of corporate takeovers. The study analyzes conditions which make overpayment likely. For a sample of corporate takeovers completed between 1982 and 1993, the analysis shows that the volatility of targets relative to that of acquirers (not the uncertainty of the target or acquirer alone) has a definitive impact on the magnitude of the winner's curse. Also, the incidence is more pronounced in multiple-bidder than in single-bidder contests. Specifically, white knights are more likely to overpay than other acquirers in multiple bidding situations. Furthermore, the study finds that the process of competitive bidding is a zero sum game since the greater returns to the shareholders of target firms in multiple-bid contests come at the expense of the acquiring companies, Overall, the evidence suggests that the bidders need to become more conservative, particularly as the relative uncertainty of the target's 'true' value and the number of bidders increase.

  • This paper proposes a model to assess the maturity level of Six Sigma activities. We classify the maturity level into 5 stages: initial, forming, storming, performing and mature stage. To evaluate the maturity level, 10 categories of Six Sigma with 3 factors each are identified: management leadership, belt system, expert training, establishing execution system, compensation, organization, corporate culture, customer focus, project selection, and management of project results. Scoring 277 items in total, the value of each factor is evaluated by weighted average of those items. Maturity level is appraised by rating the sum of scores of 10 categories that are obtained by summing up the values of its 3 factors. Values of weights and criteria of rating maturity levels are determined by analyzing 90 companies and Six Sigma exper's opinion. This study also shows the actual appraisal results of some companies.

  • This paper suggests a contingent perspective for analyzing information systems issues of the Korean firms. The contingent perspective includes such corporate characteristics as industry, organizational size, strategy, and value-added application function. This research surveyed 119 corporations in manufacturing, banking, distribution, and construction industries. Among those samples 104 data of corporate IS managers turned out to be statistically valid. As a result, those issues are ranked as the most urgent and important IS issues: strategic IS planning, system integration, application of database, process standardization, and network planning and implementation. Furthermore, factor analysis says that thirty issues to be surveyed are to be grouped into seven factors such as IS planning, user/education, database, applications of IT, system management, distributed computing technology, and network applications. It also found through Pearson correlation and ANOVA that organizational characteristics highly influences the IS issues the corporations face.
