The basic composition of Ni-Zn ferrite was $(Ni_{0.35}Cu_{0.2}Zn_{0.45})_{1.02}(Fe_2O_3)_{0.98}$ (group A) and $(Ni_{0.4}Cu_{0.2}Zn_{0.4})_{1.02}(Fe_2O_3)_{0.98}$(group B) with additional 0.1 mol% $CaCO_3$ and 0.03 mol% $V_2O_5$. For high permeability and acceleration of grain growth, $CaCO_3$ and $V_2O_5$ was added. The mixture of the law materials was calcinated at $600^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours and then milled. The compacts of toroidal type were sintered at different temperature ($1,050^{\circ}C,\;1,070^{\circ}C,\;1,100^{\circ}C$) for 2 hours in air followed by an air cooling. Then, effects of various composition and sintering temperatures on the microstructure and physical properties such as density, resistivity, magnetic induction, coercive force, initial permeability, quality factor, and curie temperature of the Ni-Zn ferrite were investigated. The density of the Ni-Zn ferrite was $4.90{\sim}5.10g/cm^3$, resistivity revealed $10^8{\sim}10^{12}{\Omega}-cm$. The average grain size increased with the increase of sintering temperatures. The magnetic properties obtained from the aforementioned Ni-Zn ferrite specimens were 4,000 gauss for the maximum induction, 0.25 oersted for the coercive force, 2,997 for the initial permeability, 208 for the quality factor, and $202^{\circ}C$ for the curie temperature. The physical properties indicated that the specimens could be utilized as the core of microwave communication and high permeability deflection yoke of high permeability.

Narrow-mouth frog (Kaloula borealis) is the only amphibian species of genus Kaloula living in South Korea. They are designated and managed as endangered class II wildlife by the Ministry of Environment, Korea. Therefore, there is a desperate need of a habitat restoration study to prevent the extinction of narrow-mouth frog. This study is primarily for the purpose of presenting the direction and practical applications to restore damaged narrow-mouth frog habitats or to suggest alternative habitat options. The habitat suitability index (HSI) of narrow-mouth frog was applied to the research area in Mokpo City of Jeollanam-do Province, in order to present a new narrow-mouth frog habitat. We analyzed the research area based on historical contexts, ecological environment, ecology, and habitat requirements. The research area was divided into the core, buffer, and transition zones according to UNESCO MAB (Man and Biosphere) to establish local land-use plans. As for the foundation of the plan, we divided the habitat composition of the core, where narrow-mouth frog live in, into wetland (spawning area), grassland (shelter and feeding grounds), and forestland (feeding ground). We had a comparative analysis of habitat suitability in pre and post planning of narrow-mouth frog habitat restoration. For the validation study of habitat restoration plans, the future research should be on the composition of test-bed, continuous monitoring, and scientific habitat maintenance.

Mafic microgranular enclaves (MME) occur in the granites from the Bohyunsan area. The host granites are generally of granodioritic and granitic compositions. The MME can be divided into magic mineral clusters, quartz diorite and diorite according to their occurrence. Halter variation diagrams show linear trends between the MME and the host granites. Though the rim compositions of plagioclase in the host granites and the MME are similar the core compositions of plagioclase in some host granites show abnormally high An content. The Mg/(Mg+Fe) ratio of hornblende in the host granites gradually increase from the core to the rim. The chemical composition of minerals in the host granites had been affected by more marc magma composition. The modelling of major elements of the MME and hybrid host granites also indicate that they result from simple mingling/mixing between a dioritic magma and the host granite magma. The MME are thus interpreted to be globules of a more mafic magma which intruded the granite magma. Partial equilibration has been achieved between the MME and the host granites after they were commingled with each other.

Since 1980's there have been two trends that obviously developed in the would -- economics globalization and urban internationalization. China, with is reform and opening-up policy and rapid economic growth, keeps pace with these two trends. The term "International City" has no putative standard or definition. If we make an analogue of urban functional hierarchy in the world with a pyramid, the International Citiesa are the few elites on its top. The highest level international cities can be called "World City" or "Global City". In today's new international division of labor, they are diversified leading cities with control capacity on a world scale, like New York, London, and Tokyo. The secondary international cities are either diversified cities with influence and regulative functions on multinational scale or specialized cities on politics, economics, culture, or other aspects with worldwide impact. Judged by different criteria, there is no city that is qualified as International City with the exception of Hong Kong, which was returned to the P.R. of China in 1997. Nevertheless, Some favorable conditions for the development of the international city still exist in China. This country is already the sixth largest economic entity in the world, and the second largest economic entity in the world, and the second largest one if GNP estimated by ppp. Furthermore its import and export value make up for 40% of its GNP, indicating that China is repidly merging into global economy. In this 1, 2 billion-population country, the difference of economic levels between urban and rural, coastal and inland regions is so big that a few metropolises in the coastal region have the possibilities and potentials to develop into international cities regardless of rather low GNP per capita of the whole country. This article will focus on analysis from several perspectives, such as the proportion of foreign trade values in GDP, the proportion of imports and exports by foreign funded enterprises in total foreign trade value; distribution of the 500 largest foreign-funded enterprises; distribution of the 500 enterprises with largest import and export values; distrigbution of foreign computer and telecom companies with offices in China; the number of outward flights per week and the international tourists; the value of foreign capital used in cities and so on. From this analysis, it is predicted that Chinese international cities will surely emergy from the eastern coastal regions and they must be the core cities of metropolitan interlocking regions that have been formed or in the process of forming. Those international cities will arise from south to north in turn : Hong Kong-Guangzhu, Shanghai, Beijing-Tianjin, and perhaps the last one is Dalian-Shenyang. The other side of this issue is that there is a long way for the coming international cities in China except Hong Kong. At least China and these core cities must continually devote to (1) improve the regional composition of foreign capital sources. (2) improve the composition of export commodities. (3) improve the investment environment (including hard and soft environment) to attract more transnational corporations to settle. (4) deepen the reform of state-owned enterprises and establish Chinese own transnational corporations to enter the world market.ons to enter the world market.

The stabilities of O/W emulsions (lipophilic core material:lipophobic wall material=3:2, w/w) containing various kinds of emulsifiers were compared to determine the optimal conditions of the HLB (hydrophilic lipophilic balance) value, the concentration and composition of emulsifier, the ratio of core material to the wall material, and the concentration and composition of polymers in the wall material. The effect of different chemical types of emulsifiers and the influence of single vs. binary emulsifier systems were compared with 13 kinds of emulsifier HLB values of $0.6{\sim}16.7$ at the concentration of 0.50%(w/w). The emulsion system was stable (more than 99.0 of ESI value) when the HLB value of the emulsifier was more than 11.0 or less than 2.8 of emulsifier HLB value. But it was unstable (less than 40.0 of ESI value) at the HLB value of the emulsifier between 3.4 and 8.6. Especially, we could find out the emulsion containing the emulsifier of polyglycerol polyricinoleate (PGPR, HLB 0.6) became stable creamy state. And, the ESI value of binary emulsifier system containing 0.25%(w/w) of PGPR and 0.25%(w/w) of polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate (PSML, HLB 16.7) was higher than that of any single emulsifier system at the concentration of 0.50%(w/w). The highest emulsion stability was obtained in the liquefied wall material composed of 0.25%(w/v) of waxy corn starch and 0.50%(w/v) of agar.

Borehole elemental concentration logging, measuring neutron-induced gamma rays by inelastic scattering and neutron capture interactions between neutron and formation, delivers concentrations of the most common elements found in the minerals and fluids of subsurface formation. X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence analysis from core samples are traditionally used to understand formation composition and mineralogy, but it represents only part of formations. Additionally, it is difficult to obtain elemental analysis over the whole intervals because of poor core recovery zones such as fractures or sand layers mainly responsible for groundwater flow. The development of borehole technique for in situ elemental analysis plays a key role in assessing subsurface environment. Although this technology has advanced consistently starting from conventional and unconventional resources evaluation, it has been considered as exclusive techniques of some major service company. As regards domestic research and development, it has still remained an unexplored field because of some barriers such as the deficiency of detailed information on tools and calibration facility for chemistry and mineralogy database. This article reviews the basic theory of spectroscopy measurements, system configuration, calibration facility, and current status. In addition, this article introduces the domestic researches and self-development status on borehole elemental concentration tools.

BNKT Ceramics, one of the representative Pb free based piezoelectric ceramics, constitutes a perovskite(ABO3) structure. At this time, the perovskite structure (ABO3) is in the form where the corners of the octahedrons are connected, and in the unit cell, two ions, A and B, are cations, A ion is located at the body center, B ion is located at each corner, and an anion O is located at the center of each side. Since Bi, Na, and K sources constituting the A site are highly volatile at a sintering temperature of 1100℃ or higher, it is difficult to maintain uniformity of the composition. In order to solve this problem, there should be suppression of volatilization of the A site material or additional compensation of the volatilized. In this study, the basic composition of BNKT Ceramics was set to Bi_0.5(Na_0.78K_0.22)_0.5TiO₃ (= BNKT), and volatile site (Bi, Na, and K sources) were coated in the form of a shell to compensate additionally for the A site ions. In addition, the physical and electrical properties of BNKT and its coated with shell additives(= @BNK) were compared and analyzed, respectively. As a result of analyzing the crystal structure through XRD, both BNKT(Core) and @BNK(Shell) had perovskite phases, and the crystallinity was almost similar. Although the Curie temperature of the two sintered bodies was almost the same (TC = 290 ~ 300 ℃), it was confirmed that the d33 (piezoelectric coefficient) and Pr (residual polarization) values were different. The experimental results indicated that the additional compensation for a shell additive causes the coarsening, resulting in a decrease in sintering density and Pr(remanent polarization). However, coating shell additives to compensate for A site ion is an effective way to suppress volatilization. Based on these experimental results, it would be the biggest advantage to develop an eco-friendly material (Lead-free) that replaced lead (Pb), which is harmful to the human body. This lead-free piezoelectric material can be applied to a biomedical device or products(ex. earphones (hearing aids), heart rate monitors, ultrasonic vibrators, etc.) and skin beauty improvement products (mask packs for whitening and wrinkle improvement).

Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) is an important vegetable and spice crop that has been cultivated worldwide. Pepper fruits have unique taste and aroma, providing a variety of antioxidants and compounds important for human health, which makes a high economic value. In addition, there is a high demand for new pepper varieties, according to consumer's preference. However, pepper is a recalcitrant plant for in vitro tissue and organ differentiation and plant regeneration, which makes it difficult to develop demanded varieties using newly developed technologies such as genetic engineering and gene editing. In this study, tissue culture and regeneration conditions were investigated using seven pepper varieties that were obtained from the core-collection of Seoul National University. We observed callus and bud induction and shoot formation using several media composition composed of different cytokinins and auxin concentrations. As a result, it was found that there were differences in callus induction and shoot formation of each variety depending on the hormone composition, and the highest regeneration was shown when the medium containing Zeatin Riboside and the petioles of seedlings were used. In particular, out of seven pepper varieties, CMV980 exhibited a higher regeneration efficiency (approximately 48%) than other varieties, followed by Yuwolcho. Therefore, this study provides CMV980 and Yuwolcho as good candidates that can be used for pepper transformation, which might contribute to the development of various varieties through gene editing technology in the future.

Purpose: Korea is increasing in the demand for medical services due to rapid economic growth and population aging in modern society. Thus, the importance has been emphasized for the health promotion in the community and the publicity and substantiality of public health centers. However, the environment is insufficient, compared to required functions and developed services as a urban public health center. The purpose of this study is to analysis the plane type and area composition of public health centers in Busan and to identify the property of their spatial configuration Methods: Eight public health centers in Busan, were classified, which had been selected as a medical tourism city. Subsequently, space requirements were analyzed, facilities were typed, vertical, horizontal spaces were reviewed, and area ratios by business function were calculated. Results: A review of the property of spatial configuration and an analysis of the area ratio revealed the three findings. 1)The horizontal analysis found various types: a single type, a multi-type, a radial type, and a circular type, 2)The vertical analysis showed that since a care function (general practice), and a task function (maternal and child health) were concentrated in lower level spaces, the lobby and core were closed located for providing quick medical services. 3)The analysis of the area ratio in public health centers in terms of their function indicated that each public health center' programs had the greatest influence on the area. Implications: This study attempted to present spatial structural problems and improvements for city public health center by identifying their state and classify their functions and types and by calculating the ratio of their area configuration according to the spatial composition. It was thus aimed to presenting implications in establish public functions and roles by activating business through in connection with the number of municipalities in many ways, such as regional health. medical welfare, etc. to improve the health of local residents, and by providing differentiated programs in accordance with local characteristics.

We investigated flux, grain size distribution, Nd-Sr isotope composition, mineral composition, and trace metal composition (REEs and Sc) of inorganic silicate fraction (ISF, mainly Asian dust with an unrestricted amount of volcanic materials) deposited during 600~1000 ka across the Mid-Pleistocene Transition at core NPGP 1401-2A (32°01'N, 178°59'E, 5205m) taken from the central part of the North Pacific. Our results reveal about a 2-fold increase in ISF flux after 800 ka, which is associated with an increase in La/Sc and a decrease in mean grain size. Asian dusts are finer than volcanic materials and La/Sc increases with the enhanced contribution of Asian dusts. Thus, increased flux after 800 ka can be explained by the increased contribution of Asian dusts relative to volcanic materials, likely due to an intensified Westerly Jet (WJ) and the drying of the Asian continent after the MPT. Mean grain size of ISF varies systematically in relation to glacial-interglacial cycles with a decrease during glacial stages, which is consistent with the previous results in the study area. Such a cyclical pattern is also attributed to the increase in the relative contribution of Asian dusts over volcanic components in glacial stages due to intensified WJ and drying of the Asian continent. Thus, it can be concluded that climate changes that had occurred across the MPT were similar to those of interglacial to glacial transitions at least in terms of the dust budget. Different from the Shatsky Rise, however, compositional changes associated with glacial-interglacial mean grain size fluctuations are not observed in Nd-Sr isotope ratios and trace element composition in our study of the Hess Rise. This may be attributed to the location of the study site far (> 4,000 km) from the volcanic sources. The volcanic component at the study site comprises less than 10% and varies within 3% over glacial-interglacial cycles. Such a small variation was not enough to imprint geochemical signals.
