  • This paper deals with the loss analysis and efficiency evaluations in a synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) using a coupled transient finite element method (FEM) and Preisach modeling, which is presented to analyze the characteristics under the effect of saturation and hysteresis loss. The focus of this paper is the efficiency evaluation relative to hysteresis loss, copper loss, etc. on the basis of speed, load condition in a SynRM. Computer simulation and experimental result for the efficiency using dynamometer show the propriety of the proposed method.

Influence of end-joint methods on magnetization loss in striated helical conductors

  • To reduce the magnetization loss of a coated conductor, the striation and the transposition have to be accomplished for magnetic decoupling. The loss reduction effect in incomplete as well as complete striated YBCO CCs was reported in previous research. At the case of the incomplete striated sample, the end region of the sample is non-striated. So, it is not jointed with each other. In power applications, the joint is needed because current leads must be connected with HTS coils. In this research, the influence of end-joint methods with copper and superconducting joint on magnetization loss in striated YBCO CC and spiral winding samples are presented and compared with non-striated measured result.

  • Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) is widely used in many applications such as an electric vehicle, compressor drives of air conditioner and machine tool spindle drives. In order to maximize the efficiency in such applications, this paper is proposed the optimal control method of the armature current. The controllable electrical loss which consists of the copper loss and the iron loss can be minimized by the optimal control of the armature current. The minimization of loss is possible to realize efficiency optimization control for the proposed IPMSM The optimal current can be decided according to the operating speed and the load conditions. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system, the operating characteristics controlled by efficiency optimization control are examined in detail by simulation.

Expression and Characterization of Recombinant Human Cu,Zn-Superoxide Dismutase in Escherichia coli

  • Expression of human Cu.Zn-superoxide dismutase (SOD) with activity comparable to human erythrocyte enzyme was achieved in E. coli B21(DE3) by using the pET-17b expression vector containing a T7 promoter. Recombinant human SOD was found in the cytosol of disrupted bacterial cells and represented > 25% of the total bacterial proteins. The protein produced by the E. coli cells was purified using a combination of ammonium sulfate precipitation, Sephacryl S-100 gel filtration and DEAE-Sephacel ion exchange chromatography. The recombinant Cu,Zn-SOD and human erythrocyte enzyme were compared using dismutation activity, SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting analysis. The mass of the subunits was determined to be 15,809 by using a electrospray mass spectrometer. The copper specific chelator. diethyldithiocarbamate (DOC) reacted with the recombinant Cu,Zn-SOD. At $50{\mu}M$ and $100{\mu}M$ concentrations of DOC, the dismutation activity was not inhibited for one hour but gradually reduced after one hour. This result suggests that the reaction of DOC with the enzyme occurred in two distinct phases (phase I and phase II). During phase I of this reaction, one DOC reacted with the copper center, with retention of the dismutation activity while the second DOC displaced the copper, with a loss of activity in phase II.

전도성 구리충전제/에폭시수지 복합체의 전기적 특성 (Electrical Properties of Conductive Copper Filler/Epoxy Resin Composites)

  • The conductive polymer composites recently became increasingly to many fields of industry due to their electrical properties. To understand these properties of composites, electrical properties were measured and were studied relatively. Electrical conductivity measurements showed percolation phenomena. Percolation theories are frequently applied to describe the insulator-to-conductor transitions in composites made of a conductive filler and an insulating matrix. It has been showed both experimentally and theoretically that the percolation threshold strongly depends on the aspect ratio of filler particles. The critical concentration of percolation formed is defined as the percolation threshold. This paper was to study epoxy resin filled with copper. The experiment was made with vehicle such as epoxy resin replenished with copper powder and the study about their practical use was performed in order to apply to electric and electronic industry as well as general field. The volume specific resistance of epoxy resin composites was 3.065~13.325 in using copper powder. The weight loss of conductive composites happened from $350^{\circ}C{\sim}470^{\circ}C$.

Zn, Cu 및 Linoleic Acid의 급여(給與)에 의한 가토(家兎) 횡문근(橫紋筋)의 병리조직학적(病理組織學的) 변화(變化) (Histopathological Changes on the Striated Muscle of Rabbits Fed Zinc, Copper and Linoleic Acid)

  • The present studs was undertaken to observe the histopathological changes on the cardiac and skeletal muscles, and liver of rabbits fed a commercial ration, either alone or with supplements of Zinc (3,000mg/kg. of diet, as sulfate), Copper (1,500mg/kg. of diet, as sulfate), Linoleic acid (3% of diet), Zinc with Linoleic acid and Copper with Linoleic acid. In the skeletal muscle, light microscopic changes observed were cloudy swelling, hyaline degeneration, atrophy, fragmentation and coagulative necrosis of muscle fibers, and proliferation of fibroblasts and infiltration of mononuclear cells. Especially, in rabbits fed with supplements of Zinc with Linoleic acid and Copper with Linoleic acid, calcification with muscle fibers progressing to necrosis were often observed. In the myocardium, loss of muscle fibers with necrosis and vacuolization, hyaline degeneration, hemorrhage and congestion were observed. In the liver, congestion and necrosis of hepatocytes, and centrilobular necrosis were observed. Differences of histological changes among the experimental groups was not marked.

구리와 알루미늄 이종금속 판재간의 전기저항가열 표면마찰 스폿용접 특성 (Characteristics of Electric Resistance Heated Surface Friction Spot Welding Process of Copper and Aluminum Dissimilar Metal Sheets)

  • In this study, an electric resistance-heated surface friction spot-welding process was proposed and tested for the spot-welding ability of copper and aluminum dissimilar metal sheets using electric resistance heating and surface friction heating. This process has welding variables, such as the current value, energizing cycles, rotational speed, and friction time. The current value and energizing cycle can affect the resistance heat, and the rotational speed of the rotating pin and friction time influence frictional heat generation. Resistance heating before friction heating has a preheating effect on the Cu-Al contact interface and a positive effect on preventing friction heat loss during the friction stage. However, because resistance preheating can soften the copper sheet and affect the contact stress and friction coefficient, it has difficulties that may adversely affect frictional heat generation. Therefore, the optimal combination of welding variables should be determined through simulations and experiments of the spot-welding process to determine the effects of electric resistance preheating on the suggested process. Through this procedure, it is known that the proposed spot-welding process can improve the welding quality during the spot welding of Cu-Al sheets.

부하 추종형 실시간 변압기 손실감소운전시스템 개발과 시범운영 경제성 분석 (The Development of an Operating System for Load-following Real-time Transformer Loss Minimization and Economic Analyses on its' Test Operation)

  • In this paper, for minimizing the real-time operating load losses of the power transformer, a SCADA optimum operating system was developed, and the economic analyses on the test operation were performed. Transformer loss DB which reflects the economic integration operation criteria was constructed by referring the transformer manufacturer's loss data(iron loss, copper loss). Based on the loss DB, each substation transformer real-time loss was calculated according to the size of the transformer loads, and if integration or separation transformer operating conditions minimizing the loss are met, then a window pops-up and the dispatcher performs the substation equipments operation according to the procedure provided by this system. With the existing SCADA main program, the relation database of the substation facilities and integration/separation operation algorithm were developed and applied to Auto MTR Processor and pconn Processor Task module. Seven stations test data for seven months were analyzed for the economic analyses, and the results showed that Cost-Benefit ratio was 2.64, and IRR(Internal Rate of Return), 36%, which asserted the economic justification of the proposed system.

중.노년기 제2형 당뇨병 여성의 아연 및 구리 영양상태 (Zinc and Copper Status of Middle- and Old-Aged Women in Type 2 Diabetes)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the zinc and copper status of type 2 diabetic women and to analyse the relation-ship among zinc and copper status, and diabetic control indices of diabetes. The mean age of diabetes was 57.9 years old. The mean duration of diabetes was 8.0 $\pm$ 6.5 years. The mean daily energy intake of diabetes was 1562 kcal. There were no significant differences of age, BMI, %body fat, nutritional intakes, total energy intake, and energy composition from carbohydrate, protein, and fat between diabetes (n = 50) and control group (n = 68). However, both zinc intake density (4.15 mg/1000 kcal) and zinc %RDA (62.0%) of diabetes were significantly lower than control group (p <0.05, P < 0.01, respectively). The plasma zinc level was not significantly different between diabetes and control group (90$\mu$g/dl, 91$\mu$g/dl respectively). The proportion of diabetic women whose plasma zinc levels were lower than 76 $\mu$g/dl(borderline zinc deficiency) was 18.8%. This was about 38% higher than control group. It has been suggested that insulin secretion might decrease in borderline plasma zinc and copper deficiency and increase in normal plasma zinc and copper status. The urinary zinc excretion was twice higher in diabetes than in control group (p < 0.001). The urinary zinc loss was positively correlated with the duration of diabetes (p < 0.05), hyperglycemia (p < 0.001) and insulin resistance (p < 0.05). These results lead us to conclude that normal blood glucose level controlled by diet therapy could improve the hyperzincuria in diabetic women.

열처리에 의한 돈 내장근의 중량손실 및 미량 중금속 잔류에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Heating Treatment on the Cooking Loss and Heavy Metal Residues of Porcine Variety Viscera)

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the healing loss and the heavy metal residues such as copper, zinc, manganese, cadmium and lead In porcine visceras by inductively coupled argon plasma spectrometer(ICP), and to probe changes when porcine visceras were boiling In water treatment(BWT), heating in autoclave treatment (HAT) and heating In oil treatment (HOT) . The range of heating loss on porcine viscera were BWT(23.11∼34.53%) , HAT(18.48∼28.00%) and HOT(14.20∼25.22%)and the heart tissue were higher and liver were lower than those of the other tissues. The total value of heavy metal residues in large intestine, small intestine, heart, kidney, liver and stomach tissue were 11.298${\pm}$5.302 ppm, 27.825${\pm}$8. 177 ppm, 16.756${\pm}$6.334 ppm 21.107${\pm}$6.057 ppm, 25.369 ${\pm}$ 10.164 ppm and 12.611 ${\pm}$5.513 ppm, respectively. Heavy metal residues in porcine visceras tended to decrease according to heating methods and the variety viscera, and the change of total heavy metal residues on BWT, HAT and HOT were 4.16∼32.57%, 12.01∼28.09% and 9.60∼25.76%, respectively. The decrease of lead element of mean value were 21.76% and copper, zinc, manganese and cadmium element were 18.00∼ 18.16%. The change of heavy metal residues were not significant in the porcine visceras(P>0.05), and the these were significantly correlated among the three heating method(P < 0.05).
