고효율 배관용 정밀성형 벤딩머시인 개발 (Development of Bending Machine with High Efficiency and Precision Forming)

  • 연질 동관은 조선, 자동차, 플랜드, 냉동공조 기기 등에 많이 사용되는 대표적인 파이프 재료 중의 하나이다. 그러나 이러한 재료들은 벤딩가공시 외부의 주름, 스프링백, 관이 얇아지는 현상들이 자주 발생하여 문제가 된다. 본 논문에서는 연성재질을 벤딩시 맨드럴이 슬라이딩 가이드 레일을 따라서 파이프를 누르는 벤딩방식을 선택한 연성재질 전용 벤딩머시인을 제작하여 이와 같은 현상을 줄였다. 이의 성능을 확인하는 과정에서 재료로 사용한 동관의 직경이 작을수록 스프링백 현상은 증가하였고 또한 굽힘각도가 클수록 컸다. 또한 동관의 벤딩시 주름이 거의 발생하지 않는 성형품을 제작할 수 있었다.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the manufacturing technique on the U type Draw-Bending of inner grooved tube. This bending process make the U shape tube by Hair Pin Bending machine. The U type tube requires the quality of product that satisfy sufficient conditions for a heat exchanger. The mandrel components act the important roles that prevent wrinkles and keep the shape of cross section of bended tube at bending process. We performed the FEM simulation using LS-DYNA software and the bending test of inner groove tube and then, compared bending simulation with bending test results about mandrel ball diameter, mandrel position and optimal clearance between mandrel and tube.

3차원 Bending Machine 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design of Three-Dimensional Bending Machine)

  • This study is concerned about the development of three-dimensional bending machine for heat exchanger. Recently, three-dimensional bending is required for various heat exchanger. The purpose of this study is design of three-dimensional bending machine by analysis of bending process and structural analysis simulation. The analysis is carried out by FEM simulation using DEFORM and CATIA V5 software. The copper-tube is modeled by shell elements and the machine is modeled by placing proper shell and solid finite elements and fictitious mass properties to represent the real one. The final results of analysis are applied to the design of three-dimensional bending machine and the machine is successfully developed.

  • The air-conditioning industry is closely related to types of lifestyles, climate, and products. With the improvement of national income, the pursuit of pleasant living and working environments, and South Korea's four seasons and distinct climatic conditions, demand for air conditioning has increased. In addition, the industry is becoming increasingly precise and cooperative, and the increase in the domestic production of sophisticated air conditioning and continued growth of future industrial cooperation are expected to rapidly rise. Accordingly, the study of air piping systems can improve the productivity and quality of products and cost savings and can achieve vibration reduction. Additionally, using a heat treatment furnace for copper tube annealing treatment reduces the risk of using an oxy-acetylene torch.

In order to evaluate a performance and reliability of the developed three dimensional bending machine, we used laser interferometer and three axial measuring system.

Thermal Performance of a Spirally Coiled Finned Tube Heat Exchanger Under Wet-Surface Conditions

  • This paper is a continuation of the authors' previous work on spiral coil heat exchangers. In the present study, the heat transfer characteristics and the performance of a spirally coiled finned tube heat exchanger under wet-surface conditions are theoretically and experimentally investigated. The test section is a spiral-coil heat exchanger which consists of a steel shell and a spirally coiled tube unit. The spiral-coil unit consists of six layers of concentric spirally coiled finned tubes. Each tube is fabricated by bending a 9.6 mm diameter straight copper tube into a spiral-coil of four turns. The innermost and outermost diameters of each spiral-coil are 145.0 and 350.4 mm, respectively. Aluminium crimped spiral fins with thickness of 0.6 mm and outer diameter of 28.4 mm are placed around the tube. The edge of fin at the inner diameter is corrugated. Air and water are used as working fluids in shell side and tube side, respectively. The experiments are done under dehumidifying conditions. A mathematical model based on the conservation of mass and energy is developed to simulate the flow and heat transfer characteristics of working fluids flowing through the heat exchanger. The results obtained from the present model show reasonable agreement with the experimental data.
