The study to identify the relationship among stress associated with clinical experience, coping strategies and self-esteem in nursing students and to provide basic information which is useful for nursing students' learning experience in clinical setting were surveyed using self-reported questionnaires. The findings were summarized : 1. Senior students showed a higher level of stress than junior students. A higher stress level was observed in the unsatisfied group, compared with the neutral group. By class and clinical schedule, students who followed the 3-week class and 3-week clinical schedule showed a higher level of stress than those who followed the 8-week class and 8-week clinical schedule. 2. Senior students had a higher mean coping strategy score than junior students. And the satisfied group showed higher self-esteem, compared with the neutral and unsatisfied group. 3. There was a positive correlation between stress associated with clinical learning experience and coping strategies. But a negative correlation was seen between stress and self-esteem in nursing students. 4. Nursing students used more coping mechanisms as their stress levels increased but showed low self-esteem. The results suggest the need for developing more effective teaching methods and strategies that could improve students' ability to solve problems and sustain their self-esteem even under a stressful circumstance.

The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Pain belief, perceived social support, and coping strategies were correlated significantly with the quality of life. As a result of stepwise multiple regression analysis, pain belief, perceived social support, coping strategies, damaged area, and time since injury were discovered to account for 59.1% variance of the quality of life. The variable that most affected the quality of life was pain belief followed by perceived social support and coping strategies. Conclusion: The results of the study clearly demonstrate the importance of pain control, social support, and coping skills in order to improve quality of life among people with noncongenital spinal cord injury.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test the mediating effect of social support and resilience on the relationship between symptom distress and coping in young Korean breast cancer survivors. Methods: A purposive sample of 209 young breast-cancer survivors (mean age 39.9) was recruited for a cross-sectional survey, and the data were collected between June and October 2015. The instruments used in this study were the Memorial Symptom Assessment Scale-Short Form, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, and Cancer Coping Questionnaire. The collected data were then analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 programs. Results: Symptom distress was found to have a significant indirect effect on coping (beta=-.32, p=.002), but not a significant direct effect (beta=.06, p=.577). Additionally, based on the values obtained for the squared multiple correlation, symptom distress, social support, and resilience were found to explain 46.4% of the total variance of coping. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it can be suggested that in order to enhance young breast cancer survivors' ability to cope with the distress they commonly feel, intervention methods that strengthen resilience and provide social support should be developed and made available to them.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effect of positive psychological capital, empathy ability, and stress coping style on psychiatric ward nurses' compassion fatigue. Methods: Data were collected using structured questionnaires for 140 psychiatric ward nurses. The data were analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, and hierarchical regression. Results: The variable predictors of compassion fatigue were as follows: positive psychological capital (β=-.35, p<.001), empathy ability (β=.32, p<.001), and passive coping (β=.25, p=.004). These factors explained 27% of compassion fatigue, and psychological capital was found to have the greatest influence among these variables. Conclusion: Positive psychological capital, empathy ability, and passive coping are important factors influencing nurses' compassion fatigue in psychiatric wards. It is necessary to develop interventions and appropriate coping styles that strengthen positive psychological capital to prevent and reduce nurses' compassion fatigue in psychiatric wards. In addition, it is necessary to identify the required level of empathy ability to maintain a therapeutic relationship.
Purpose: This study was done to identify effects of cognitive function and cancer coping on quality of life among women with breast cancer treated with antineoplastic agents. Methods: The study was correlational research and participants were 145 women with breast cancer who had received antineoplastic agents. Data were collected from October to November, 2015 via online replies. Cognitive function was measured with the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Cognitive Function Version-3 (FACT-Cog), cancer coping, with the Korean Cancer Coping Questionnaire (K-CCQ), and quality of life with the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast Version-4 (FACT-B). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, ANCOVA, Bonferroni test, partial correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression with SPSS 21. Results: Cognitive functions, total individual coping, and interpersonal coping explained 42% of quality of life. Cognitive function (${\beta}=.35$, p<.001) was the best predictor of quality of life, followed by total individual coping (${\beta}=.34$, p<.001), and interpersonal coping (${\beta}=.26$, p<.001). Conclusion: Results indicate that cognitive function and cancer coping are meaningful factors for quality of life among breast cancer survivors. Therefore when developing intervention programs for these women, content on cognitive function and coping skills as well as coping resources should be included.
목적 : 본 연구는 라쉬 분석을 이용하여 12개 항목의 스트레스 대처 척도의 항목 심리측정 속성을 조사하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 본 연구는 ICPSR(Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research)에서 제공하는 공공 자료를 활용하여 로스엔젤레스에 거주하는 노인 480명을 대상으로 조사하였다.

Stress perception and problem focused coping style were also found to have a significant direct effect on suicidal ideation. On the other hand the anger, somatization, and dysfunctional impulsivity were found to have a significant indirect effect mediated by depression on suicidal ideation. Conclusion: These results suggest that university students' suicidal ideation can be decreased by managing stress perception, dysfunctional impulsivity, depression, anger, and somatization and increasing problem focused coping style.
