This paper presents a novel real-time rendering algorithm based on spherical coordinate system of the object using convex hull. While OpenGL rendering pipeline touches all vertices of an object, the proposed method takes account the only visible vertices by examining the visible triangles of the object. In order to determine the visible areas of the object in its spherical coordinate representation, the proposed method uses 3D geometric relation of 6 plane equations of the camera frustum and the bounding sphere of the object. In addition, we compute the convex hull of the object and its maximum side factors for hidden surface removal. Simulation results showed that the quality of result image is almost same compared to original image and rendering performance is greatly improved.

The stability curves are very important data to decide the seaworthiness of all kinds of ships among waves. Both statical and dynamical stability curves on a rectangular coordinate system have broadly been handled at ship yards or at the government concerned, up to data. As concerns a method of obtaining a statical stability curve on polar coordinate system, the papers were presented once. Also, it is of use to research the dynamical stability curve on polar coordinate system. Author treated of the dynamical stability curve by four different methods, and tried to set the stability indicator inboard, adopted those proposals, in order to give some aids for good navigation on the sea. Fig. 1. shows a drawing method in case of the position of centre of buoyancy can be previously pointed out on the line corresponding to its inclination. Fig. 2. shows a method used a statical stability curve on polar coordinate. Fig. 3. shows a method obtained by the most simplified means. Fig. 4. shows dynamical stability curve made by geometrical expression method, instead of dynamical lever. A simple stability indicator which was mechanized above characteristics is attempted by author as shown Fig. 5 and Fig.6. It is demanded at hand, for more advanced improvement of such indicator.

Robot calibration needs accurate measurements of robot end-effector position at a number of different robot configurations. One of the efficient ways of the measurement is "Touching on Jig" method suggested in [7], which utilizes a touch sensor and a fixture consisting of various sizes of blocks. By moving the end-effector to touch the surface of a block whose position relative to the other is known, the end-effector position relative to the fixture coordinate system can be obtained at the instant of touching. However, the global size of fixture is too small to cover the various configurations of the robot. Because of the manufacturing difficulties, the fixture cannot be manufactured large enough for well distributed position measurement. It results in the improvement of robot accuracy only in the limited space near to the fixture rather than over the whole space of the robot working volume. The paper proposes a method to resolve the above problem by measuring the end-effector positions with respect to several different coordinate system using the same measurement devices. It is found that the proposed method leads the improvements of robot position accuracy over the large space of working volume. The experimental studies are performed to show the validity of the method and their results are discussed.

This paper deals with a method of aligning an aircraft fuselage and an inertial navigation sensor using three-dimensional coordinates obtained by an optical method. In order to verify the feasibility, we introduce the method to accurately align the coordinate system of the inertial navigation sensor and the aircraft reference coordinate system. It is verified through simulation that reflects the error level of the measuring device. In addition, optimization method based alignment algorithm is proposed for connection between optical sensor and inertial navigation sensor.

Galileo is the Europe's global navigation satellite system corresponding to the GPS. The GIOVE-A test experiment has been finished and the second test satellite GIOVE-B will be launched soon. The integration of GPS and Galileo lead an increase of visible satellite number. We can obtain an improved navigation performance in signal blocked area such as urban or forest. GPS and Galileo have each time-coordinate system and use the different error model to calculate the navigation solution. In this paper, we studied on GPS and Galileo channel error model and time-coordinate system. Using this result, we implement the integrated navigation algorithm. In simulation, we analyzed the navigation error caused by time and coordinate disagreement and verified performance of integrated navigation algorithm in terms of visible satellite number, DOP(Dilution of Pression) and position error.

The national coordinate system is an essential component for a geographic/land information system, since it provides the spatial reference for expressing position information. The national mapping of Korea has been based on 3-different meridians on the Gauss-Schreiber projection in year 1910s, later this was changed to the Gauss-Kruger projection. Existing map coordinate systems maintaining the national land survey project on 1910s, have some structural shortcomings of unknown computational procedures and projection methods. In this paper, the problems of the map coordinates usage and of longitudes origin shift(10.405") and their solutions are investigated. Also, this study discusses the issues involved in choosing coordinate system for digital mapping and their applications as a basis for spatial data management. The foreign country's coordinate systems are reviewed and the elements to realize a new unified grid coordinate system is proposed. The Transverse Mercator projection with a central meridian of $127^\circ\;30'$, scale factor 0.9996, and GRS80 ellipsoid, is selected in Korean peninsula.sula.
This paper proposes a line laser thermography scanning (LLTS) system for multiple crack evaluation on a concrete structure, as the core technology for unmanned aerial vehicle-mounted crack inspection. The LLTS system consists of a line shape continuous-wave laser source, an infrared (IR) camera, a control computer and a scanning jig. The line laser generates thermal waves on a target concrete structure, and the IR camera simultaneously measures the corresponding thermal responses. By spatially scanning the LLTS system along a target concrete structure, multiple cracks even in a large scale concrete structure can be effectively visualized and evaluated. Since raw IR data obtained by scanning the LLTS system, however, includes timely- and spatially-varying IR images due to the limited field of view (FOV) of the LLTS system, a novel time-spatial-integrated (TSI) coordinate transform algorithm is developed for precise crack evaluation in a static condition. The proposed system has the following technical advantages: (1) the thermal wave propagation is effectively induced on a concrete structure with low thermal conductivity of approximately 0.8 W/m K; (2) the limited FOV issues can be solved by the TSI coordinate transform; and (3) multiple cracks are able to be visualized and evaluated by normalizing the responses based on phase mapping and spatial derivative processes. The proposed LLTS system is experimentally validated using a concrete specimen with various cracks. The experimental results reveal that the LLTS system successfully visualizes and evaluates multiple cracks without false alarms.

With recent increased demand for reverse engineering in dental machining, the 3D laser scanner is widely used for inspection of artificial pontic. In order to overcome the optical drawback of laser scanner, such as irregular scatter, direction of beam, and the influence of surface integrity, it is developed in this study a new 3D measuring system for artificial pontic using spherical coordinate system mechanism by point laser sensor, which keeps the direction of beam normal to surface consistently. The comprehensive integrated system is established to evaluate the improvement of accuracy with data acquisition system. The experimental results for measuring a master ball and pontic models shows the excellent form accuracy and repeatability compared with conventional apparatus. Also, these results shows the possibility to apply this system for the measuring purpose within 0.05mm accuracy of pontic at the sharp edge or margin contour, which was difficult to measure at the conventional systems.

This paper presents a method of analog signal processing for a coordinate transformation. Through the proposed method, two-dimensional position information obtanided from any type of null-detector can be transformed into the information with repect to world coordinate system. In order to implement the method, a null- detection device which consists of four optical proximity sensor is developed. Through the experiments for performance evaluation, the effectiveness of the proposed method has been demonstrated.
In this thesis, we work on the curve recognition with real time processing and the Robot tracking method on recognized curve. Image information of segment curve is supplied to computer to run to a Robot so that it is a feedback system. Image coordinate frame to world coordinate transformation represents in this paper and curve matching algorithm subscribes by two method, first transformation matching algorithm, second image coordinate matching algorithm. Also Robot running time to computer image processing time relationships finally includes.
