In this study, variations in the microstructure and hardness of a low-carbon SCM415 steel with austenitizing temperature and cooling rate are investigated. When the austenitizing temperature is lower than the A1 temperature (738.8 ℃) of the SCM415 steel, the microstructures of both the air-cooled and water-cooled specimens consist of ferrite and pearlite, which are similar to the microstructure of the initial specimen. When heat treatment is conducted at temperatures ranging from the A1 temperature to the A3 temperature (822.4 ℃), the microstructure of the specimen changes depending on the temperature and cooling rate. The specimens air- and water-cooled from 750 ℃ consist of ferrite and pearlite, whereas the specimen water-cooled from 800 ℃ consists of ferrite and martensite. At a temperature higher than the A3 temperature, the air-cooled specimens consist of ferrite and pearlite, whereas the water-cooled specimens consist of martensite. At 650 ℃ and 700 ℃, which are lower than the A1 temperature, the hardness decreases irrespective of the cooling rate due to the ferrite coarsening and pearlite spheroidization. At 750 ℃ or higher, the air-cooled specimens have smaller grain sizes than the initial specimen, but they have lower hardness than the initial specimen owing to the increased interlamellar spacing of pearlite. At 800 ℃ or higher, martensitic transformation occurs during water cooling, which results in a significant increase in hardness. The specimens water-cooled from 850 ℃ and 950 ℃ have a complete martensite structure, and the specimen water-cooled from 850 ℃ has a higher hardness than that water-cooled from 950 ℃ because of the smaller size of prior austenite grains.
The effects of pre-treatment methods (water cooling, water cooling+ozone, precooling+microbubble, water cooling+ozone+microbubble) after harvest on the quality of 'Mipung' chestnut were studied. Changes in quality of chestnut were greater precooling treatments effect than washing treatments. But, decaying rate and total microorganism were significantly differences among treatments. The decaying rate after 12 weeks storage was highest at 20.0% in non-treatments and lowest at 3.3% in water cooling+ozone and water cooling+ozone+microbubble treatments. The total microorganism immediately after washing treatments was in the order non-treatments (4.4 log CFU/g) > water cooling treatments (4.0 log CFU/g) > water cooling+ozone+microbubble treatments (3.5 log CFU/g) > water cooling+ozone treatments (3.4 log CFU/g) > water cooling+microbubble treatments (3.3 log CFU/g), and after 12 weeks storage was increased within 4.7 to 5.9 log CFU/g. Thus, the washing treatments, especially ozone treatments, extended the shelf-life of the 'Mipung' chestnut by inhibiting the decaying.

The present study has conducted cycle design and control technology of a water source VRF heat pump system. Previously, study of a simultaneous heating and cooling in an air source VRF heat pump system has been conducted. However, performance data and design methods for simultaneous heating and cooling in a water source VRF heat pump system are limited in the literature, due to various system parameters and operating conditions. In this study, the operating characteristics and performances of a simultaneous heating and cooling heat pump system are carried out, in simultaneous operation modes. Control logics of an EEV are developed for flow rate control to the outdoor unit, and are verified. When the control logics are applied, the simultaneous cooling and heating performances are sufficiently achieved, and system COPs are increased by up to 23.4%.

As the bentonite is main material to prevent from collapse of drilling hole at underground excavation works, the quantity of bentonite is increasingly used on construction industry day by day. But, the discarded bentonite that is excessively used at underground excavation works causes various environmental trouble such as soil and water pollution etc. Therefore, this study aims to propose a foundamental report about pozzolan reaction of discarded Bentonite powder by heat-treatment and cooling as concrete mineral admixture. To find out the strength-development properties of mortar with discarded Bentonite powder by indirect cooling & cooling using of water after heat-treatment, the experiments such as flow test, and compressive strength test on curing age of mortar are excuted. As a result of this study, discarded Bentonite powder can be utilized as concrete mineral admixture by heat-treatment and especially, the strength-development properties of mortar mixing with discarded Bentonite powder is superior to the situation of $600^{\circ}C$.60min-cooling using of water.
In a line heating process for hull forming, the phase of the steel transforms from austenite to martensite, bainite, ferrite, or pearlite depending on the actual speed of cooling following line heating. In order to simulate the water cooling process widely used in shipyards, a heat transfer analysis on the effects of impinging water jet, film boiling, and radiation was performed. From the above simulation it was possible to obtain the actual speed of cooling and volume percentage of each phase in the inherent strain region of a line heated steel plate. Based on the material properties calculated from the volume percentage of each phase, it should be possible to predict the plate deformations due to line heating with better precision. Compared to the line heating experimental results, the simulated water cooling process method was verified to improve the predictability of the plate deformation due to line heating.
Seoulmetro has operated the air cooling equipment for 57 stations to improve services focused on our customers who use Seoulmetro during the summer season and has established every year. However, a new set of problems has arisen with the cooling tower to support a heat exchange of cooling water. The most important matter is loss of efficiency in the cooling tower. The leading cause of this problem is that we use an indoor type. As the cooling tower room is located in the underground of the city because of the residents near the station. Therefore It is difficult to establish the cooling tower on the ground. But it is unsuitable for the location requirements of the underground type because it has a limited space to set up the air cooling equipment, for example, the cooling tower and a ventilating opening. As a result of such an unfavorable condition, the cooling tower doesn't work efficiently and the warmth of cooling water because of insufficiency of a heat exchange and a refrigerator's technical obstacle such as a high-temperature and a high-pressure has arisen. To prevent this situation, the operator tend to reduce refrigerant. Accordingly, the efficiency of the air conditioning is getting lower and lower. Study wishes to analyze the matter to improve indoor cooling tower efficiency and recommend a best practice for a person who manage the establishment.
Effluent ground water overflow in deep and broad ground space building. Temperature of effluent ground water is in $12{\sim}20^{\circ}C$ annually and the quality of that water is as good as living water. Therefore if the flow rate of effluent ground water is sufficient as source of heat pump, that is good heat source and heat sink of heat pump. Effluent ground water contain the thermal energy of surrounding ground. So this is a new application of ground source heat pump. In this study open type and close type heat pump system using effluent ground water was installed and tested for a church building with large and deep ground space. The effluent flow rate of this building is $800{\sim}1000ton/day$. The heat pump capacity is 5RT each. The heat pump cooling COP is $4.9{\sim}5.2$ for the open type and $4.9{\sim}5.7$ for close type system. The system cooling COP is $3.2{\sim}4.5$ for open type and $3.8{\sim}4.2$ for close type system. This performance is up to that of BHE type ground source heat pump.

Fault detection and diagnosis(FDD) system is beneficial in equipment management by providing the operator with tools which can help find out a failure of the system. An experimental study has been performed on fault detection and diagnosis method for a water chiller. Bayes classifier, which is one of classical pattern classifiers, is adopted in deciding whether fault occurred or not. Failure modes in this study include refrigerant leakage, decrease in mass flow rate of the chilled water and cooling water, and sensor error of the cooling water inlet temperature. It is possible to detect and diagnose faults in this study by adopting FDD algorithm using only four parameters(compressor outlet temperature, chilled water inlet temperature, cooling water outlet temperature and compressor power consumption). Refrigerant leakage failure is detected at 20% of refrigerant leakage. When mass flow rate of the chilled and cooling water decrease more than 8% or 12%, FDD algorithm can detect the faults. The deviation of temperature sensor over $0.6^{\circ}C$ can be detected as fault.
The major objective of this study is to develop a method of zone cooling during summer day using heat pump for year- round cultivation. The efficiency of cold water cooling and fog cooling was investigated. In order to prevent the occurrence of blossom - end rot in tomato, cooling was induced together with air flow of the fruit treatment as well as promoting air circulation in the plant treatment was induced. The following results were obtained : 1) The temperature in the cold water cooling district was 1$0^{\circ}C$ lower than greenhouse temperature and the temperature in the fo8 cooling district was about 5$^{\circ}C$ lower than the greenhouse. 2) Regardless of cooling method, the treatment of air flow on fruit did not affect the fruit but prevent blossom-end rot. There was 34.5% occurrence rate of blossom -end rot in non-air flow district of cold water cooling 54.5% in non-air flow district of fog cooling and 78% in fog circulation cooling district. The cooling efficiency using cold water cooling method induced enough cooling at critical temperature for growth and development and the occurrence of blossom -end rot was lower than fog cooling. Fog cooling in culture district with air circulation did not induce and difference in temperature but caused an Increase in humidity resulting in 24% increase in the occurrence of blossom-end rot. Thus the occurrence of blossom-end rot in tomato caused by environmental factors can be attributed more to humidity than to temperature.
