  • Recently, Cooling tower are used the necessary element in a residential area and living space on the viewpoint of indoor temperature control. The purpose of this study is to assistance the comfortable environment and economical measures of noise transmission mechanism on tile cooling tower. The results show that noise evaluation interact the main factor of distance reduction and diffraction reduction. Noise criterion apply to the NC level and equivalent transmission loss about already the design of noise reduction.

  • In general, a cooling tower has two major noise sources, one is the fan and the other is the falling water. The fan noise is produced by passage of its blades through the air and radiates from the fan stack. Noises from the falling water are caused by splashing and dropping of water cascading over the internal filler of the cooling tower and into the basin and radiate from the louvered face. In this paper, the noise measurements and its frequency analysis are carried out for the locations facing the louvered side and near the fan stack referring the related code and standards in order to study the noise characteristics of the induced-draft cooling tower, especially for the buildings. As a result, it is found that for every doubling of distance from the noise source the noise level decreases by 2~4dBA in the near field with reflect surfaces and decreases by about 6dBA also in the far field without reflect surfaces. As a supplement to the noise measurements, a computer program with simple algorithm is developed in order to estimate the noise level at a distance from the cooling tower, so that the user could apply and modify it for the particular boundary conditions easily.

  • The aim of this study is to estimate the cause of Cooling Tower vibration and eliminate the faults of fan with high vibration in spite of overhaul. The cause of high vibration was that the natural frequency of fan blade coincide with second blade pass frequency. To achieve reduction of Cooling Tower vibration, change motor speed from 1784rpm to 1714rpm, and then the vibration has reduced conspicuously.

  • Cooling towers have been installed on rooftops or outside of buildings and widely applied to control the indoor temperature in residential areas and buildings. However, the noise and vibration resulting from their operation may cause problems in adjacent buildings. The purpose of this study is to measure the noise and vibration of an industrial cooling tower located adjacent to industrial plants and to investigate its influence on the surroundings according to an authorized evaluation standard. Further, in order to measure the effect of the vibration of the tower on the precision equipment inside the plant, an experiment is conducted to measure the vibration of the ground in the plant and the targeted precision equipment. The measurement results indicate that the noise in the cooling tower is 4 to 9 dB(A) higher than the maximum level defined in the standard of 68dB(A). The effect of the vibration of the tower on the precision equipment is comparatively minimal, because that in the supporting frame of the building is weaker than that on the floor where the precision equipment is located.   • 수원 삼성전자 DM연구소(R4) 신축동 6층 옥상에 위치한 냉각탑으로 인해 인근 연구실 및 사무실에 소음 전파 우려가 있어 이에 대한 소음영향 평가를 수행하고 대책을 수립하고자 한다. 이를 위해 연구실에 대한 소음기준을 설정하고 음향해석기법을 이용하여 방음대책 수립 전 후에 대한 소음영향 평가를 수행하였으며, 냉각탑 소음을 줄이기 위한 방음대책안을 제시하였다.

  • In this paper, an integrated system of optimal design, performance evaluation, and die design and manufacturing of axial fans for cooling tower is presented. The design and performance evaluation are developed based on three dimensional flow analysis so as to ensure low noise and high efficiency. The methodologies are implemented on computer as a GUI system including 3-D surface modeling and 2-D drawing file output modules. The CAD/CAM system is engaged to design the die and generate NC tool path, but the processes are also automated and integrated into the system by means of a part program coded from the design data. It is shown that the newly developed fans have superior performance and shortened lead-time compared to the existing dead-copied fans.

  • The system air conditioner has an outdoor unit and a number of indoor units, which connected by several long pipes. In comparison with building HAVC system, the system air conditioner doesn't need lots of facilities, such as control of room, cooling tower, etc. At the beginning stage for the market of the system air conditioner, its main application was a school which size is small to use the building HAVC and large to use home air conditioning system, such as PAC (package air conditioner), RAC (room air conditioner). Therefore, because of the advantages of the system air conditioner mentioned above, the market is expanded rapidly. Since it is difficult to evaluate the noise caused by the system air conditioner because it has to be implemented before the finish of construction, the prediction or estimation of the noise by using CAE technology should be very important. In this research, using a commercial code, RAYNOISE, the noise is estimated to improve the design of building.

  • 근래들어 도시의 집중화와 고밀도화, 교통량의 증대 등 사회구조의 급격한 변화로 각종 소음원 들이 증가하고 있으며 소음에 대한 일반인의 관심도 점차 높아지고 있다. 건물의 경우 한정된 공간에서 거주자의 생활을 보다 쾌적하고 편리하게 하기 위해서 각종 설비들이 증가되고, 이들 설비들은 대용량화하는 추세에 있다. 건물내 공간의 기능을 능률적으로 유지하기 위해 설치된 각종 장비(공기조화기, 펌프, cooling tower, 보일러, 냉동기 \ulcorner 발전기 등)에서 발생하는 소음이 직접 실내로 투과되거나 이들이 발생하는 진동이 건물 구조체로 전달되어 실내소음을 야기시키는 경우가 많다. 따라서, 건물을 설계할 때는 실별 용도에 따라 허용소음도를 결정한후 이러한 실내 소음환경을 달성하기 위해 각종 조처를 강구하게 되는데, 이 글에서는 이러한 건물의 실내 소 음도 영향 평가의 하나로 특정 건물의 예를 들어 소음도 계산과 소음의 원인 및 대책에 관해 기술하고자 한다.
