A Study on Methodology of Media Contents Automatically Collect and Transform based IP (IP 기반 미디어 콘텐츠 자동 수집 및 변환 기법 연구)

  • The IPTV service has to be converted into an unified media format that fits for a variety of terminal equipments in terms of the bulk high-capacity media contents, and is spending a lot of time in the conversion time of contents including the process of collecting the media contents and extracting the information for conversion. In order to solve the problem, this paper designed the database in accordance with the automatic collection of time, and proposed a system that could increase the productivity of the contents through the automation process of the entire process using the media server and the transcoder. The media server collected contents and extracted information automatically with respect to the contents servers placed in specific locations and the media files of the storage whereas the transcoder conducted the automatic upload of the converted results to a specific server through the process of automatic conversion. As a result, the various convergence through compared to existing conversion method could minimized unnecessary waste of time.

2D-3D Conversion Method Based on Scene Space Reconstruction (장면의 공간 재구성 기법을 이용한 2D-3D 변환 방법)

  • Previous 2D-3D conversion methods to generate 3D stereo images from 2D sequence consist of labor-intensive procedures in their production pipelines. This paper presents an efficient 2D-3D conversion system based on scene structure reconstruction from image sequence. The proposed system reconstructs a scene space and produces 3D stereo images with texture re-projection. Experimental results show that the proposed method can generate precise 3D contents based on scene structure information. By using the proposed reconstruction tool, the stereographer can collaborate efficiently with workers in production pipeline for 3D contents production.

  • Recently, various integrated service comes true by a development of a mobile internet technology and Internet. However, much mobile internet contents should be developed to provide integrated service of good quality and does. Existing Internet contents consists of contents of a HTML base and uses in a mobile internet environment by restriction of mobile internet device, but there is a difficulty. In this paper, we was compatible with existing Internet contents in mobile internet, and wire Internet and wireless Internet contents came, and a conversion was able and designed a XML-based on mobile document conversion system that it was possible with various mobile contents.

  • Because a quantity wireless internet contents is much less than wired internet contents, it exist high necessities that wired internet contents should be converted into wireless internet contents. The conversion server implemented in this paper, automatically recognizes the type of user agents when they request, retrieves source documents on the web site specified by an URL, generates metaXML documents as an intermediate form, and converts them wireless markup documents appropriate for user agents. The conversion server interoperates with the image converter for image conversion and the clipper which is an authoring tool for clipping existing wired internet documents. We performed experiments about capability of the conversion server transcoding static/dynamic web pages specified by an URL. According to performance results on dynamic web pages, the conversion server showed better throughput when a thread pool in the terror maintains 5 threads compared with 1 and 10 threads.

  • This research entailed the production of stereoscopic 3D (S3D) contents using 2D-to-S3D conversion for exhibition at a museum and subjective evaluation. Hybrid production combining S3D images of existing live-action videos using the 2D-to-S3D conversion technology and computer graphic ones created via stereo rendering was conducted. Design and control of the chronological analysis of the parallactic angle was conducted on the produced contents, using binocular information as well as subjective evaluations, with the intent of conducting an investigation on the characteristics of such contents from the perspectives of the producers and viewers. An investigation was also conducted on the effects of the viewing position on the impressions of the S3D images.

  • In this paper, a novel CII method using a depth conversion technique is proposed. The proposed method can move a far 3D object near lenslet array and reduce the computation cost dramatically. To show the usefulness of the proposed method, we carry out the preliminary experiment and its results are presented.

  • The Part 7 of MPEG-21, called Digital Item Adaptation, aims at an interoperable transparent access of multimedia contents in heterogeneous environments. This standard facilitates the development of Universal Multimedia Access (UMA) systems, which adapt the rich multimedia contents to provide user the best possible presentation under the constraints of various terminals and network connections. Content adaptation has two major aspects: one is modality conversion that converts content from one modality (e.g. video) to different modalities (e.g. image) the other is content scaling that changes the titrates (or qualities) of the contents without converting their modalities. At the output of adaptation process, the highly-subjective qualities of adapted contents nay vary widely with respect to point-of-views of different providers and different users. So, user should have some control on the adaptation process. In this paper, we describe two description tools of user characteristics, the presentation priority preference and the modality conversion preference, which allow user to have flexible choices on the qualities and modalities of output contents. We also present a systematic approach to integrate these user preferences into the adaptation process. These description tools are developed in the process of MPEG-21 standardization.

  • This paper presents a new agent which convert HTML contents to VXML contents automatically for voice services via web. In this paper, I propose an interactive hybrid sequential contents selection method to select desired contents fast and robustly from known web pages. It uses real time structural features as well as embedded text and/or priori structural knowledge such as link symbol position. To verify its effectiveness, a full agent system is implemented and tested. The method reflects user intention more accurately than conventional selections using structural features and is more robust to variations of HTML programming techniques. The agent is fast and has less computational burden than methods use XML or XHTML conversion as intermediate stage.

  • This paper describes the implementation of HTML converter for wireless internet access in wireless application protocol environment. The implemented HTML converter consists of the contents conversion module, the conversion rule set, the WML file generation module, and the frame contents reformatting module. Plain text contents are converted to WML contents through one by one mapping, referring to the converting rule set in the contents converting module. For frame contents, the first frameset sources are parsed and the request messages are reconstructed with all the file names, reconnecting to web server as much as the number of files to receive each documents and append to the first document. Finally, after the process of reformatting in the frame contents reformatting module, frame contents are converted to WML's table contents. For image map contents, the image map related tags are parsed and the names of html documents which are linked to any sites are extracted to be replaced with WML contents data and linked to those contents. The proposed conversion method for frame contents provides a better interface for the users convenience and interactions compared to the existing converters. Conversion of image maps in our converter is one of the features not currently supported by other converters.
