In this paper, we present a practical implementation of the MPEG-21 multimedia framework for broadcasting and communication convergent services. MPEG-21 standard technology was exploited to build a convergent service framework. Using this framework, a service model and several scenarios have been successfully designed and implemented. In addition, interoperability, which is the main objective of a multimedia framework, especially in a convergent environment consisting of heterogeneous networks and various types of devices, has been addressed in detail. The experimental results show that the implemented test bed provides a next-generation multimedia service; that is, universal multimedia access (UMA), meeting the requirements of a broadcasting and communication convergent environment.

In the present knowledge and information society, knowledge and use of information and communication technology(ICT) is very important for every citizen. Also, for national power of a nation, IT-related industries need to be supported since those industries can be reconstructed in a short period of time unlike other industries. In this sense, identification and education of gifted children in IT become a serious national issue. Since 2013, gifted education has been conducted as a form of convergent education by government policy. However, there have been controversies on convergent education for gifted education. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the usefulness of convergent curriculum for gifted education in IT. For this purpose, gifted children in IT in a gifted education center are analyzed. By comparing the entrance ranking and graduation ranking, it is concluded that the current convergent gifted curriculum may not be efficient.

The existence communications of vessel focused on voice, FAX, ISDN, etc. using satellite on the existent most communications on the ships, and recently, the ships need high quality smart communication service environments. In the results of experiments using the existent system, it could access on board, but in the closed room of vessel, was impossible to access e-mail and smart apps except voice communication. In the present paper, we implemented a novel communication system that can access voice, text, e-mail, file, vessel monitoring apps, etc. It consists of a convergent communication terminal combined with satellite and communication for Smartphone, and smart communication environment on the closed room. As the results, we can access a variety of smart communication in anywhere on board.

I suggested the design learning environment based on affordance concept approach for supporting and improving learners' behavior and outcome for convergent design education in this study. The design learning space should be applied teaching and learning activity, especially learners' behavior, physical space condition to support the design thinking process. The design learning space needs openness, individuality and connectivity to support the learners' behavioral to immerse, participate, cooperate, understand, think and fulfill the design thinking process. The composition principles of the learning environment for convergent design education supports communication and collaboration among members for independence and interaction. The spaces for design research and teaching needs high privacy while facilitating visual communications through special materials and wall structure design. Also, for connectivity to improve the learners' physical and visual contact, the environment of the classrooms requires flexibility and mobility by providing an open space integrating unit cells for realizing learning purpose. These are provided by formed of an open structure for inducing visual communication and physical contact to involve the design activities and the mutual interchange.

Technology innovation of digital convergence in recent years of the media sector has produced a series of significant changes in journalist labor. This study analyzes how recent introduction of convergent newsroom changed the nature of journalist labor and what strategy the management used to control journalists within the technologically innovated working condition with case of CBS. As the labor process theory tells us, the analysis found that technological innovation in the newsroom has encouraged a couple of aspects regarding labor process. First, losing control over their own labor journalists have undergone the process of significant deskilling. Second, the management have made a constant effort to introduce ideological and political apparatuses with twofold purposes, effective control over workers on one hand and concealing oppressive labor conditions on the other. The effort generated journalists' acceptance of new news-making routine and their consent on labor-management culture founded upon naive familism, which at last resulted in reinforcement of corporate power and isolation of labor society by separating internal labor market.

Customary way of thinking may be the most major stumbling block to creative thinking in basic design education in the information and network era. The basic design education was used to be based on personal experience or subjective ideas, but these days, the role of divergent thinking and convergent thinking which provide the basis of creative techniques has been closely examined. Going beyond a divergent thinking and directly starting a convergent thinking means bypassing the design process of the existing basic design education. Though preceding studies considered various creative techniques apart from divergent thinking and convergent thinking, this study presumed that complementing the most typical methods of divergent thinking and convergent thinking may result in the same basic design education effect. So, what approach must be used to the design? The way of thinking needs to change. For that, we try to apply the mapping to basic design education. It must encompass interactive thinking which includes immaterial elements and communication. Divergent thinking can begin with the accurate understanding of current state, and the created current state resolves the design process that needs to be a certain thing. The purpose of this study was to present the method for applying the mapping techniques to basic design education based on divergent and convergent thinking which provides the basis of creative ideas.

This research points out the necessity of customized communication education for engineering students in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This paper also points out such problems of current communication education as presentation and discussion-focused 'Public Speech' exercises, absence of interests about social issues, and lack of interactive communication learning. In general, as the characteristics of their major education, engineering students are not aggressive in self-questioning and active communication rather than their sensitive reaction to the changes of the new era. Considering these characteristics of engineering students, this research emphasizes that future communication education should be deployed from the major-focused thinking to the development of convergent thinking, from the problem-solving to the problem-finding, and from the contentious thinking to the cooperative thinking. In addition, as a class design reflecting future trends, this research emphasizes, firstly the development of cooperative communication education model, secondly active utilization of SMART technology, and lastly the importance of customized-coaching for each student considering their own characteristics and requirements.

Network coding is one of the most promising techniques to increase the reliability and reduce the energy consumption for wireless sensor networks (WSNs). However, most of the previous works mainly focus on the network coding for multicast or unicast in WSNs, in spite of the fact that the converge-cast is the most common communication style in WSNs. In this paper, we investigate, for the first time as far as we know, the feasibility of acquiring network coding benefits in converge-cast, and we present that with the ubiquitous convergent structures self-organized during converge-casting in the network, the reliability benefits can be obtained by applying linear network coding. We theoretically derive the network coding benefits obtained in a general convergent structure, and simulations are conducted to validate our theoretical analysis. The results reveal that the network coding can improve the network reliability considerably, and hence reduce number of retransmissions and improve energy-efficiency.

Java is an interpreted language that can run on a variety of platforms, also Java has a number of useful features for network. Due to theses features of Java language, Java is used in various fields. In this paper, we will talk about how the malware that threaten the Java Security Manager of the Java Virtual Machine is using the vulnerability of the Java Virtual Machine. And for corresponding measures, this paper suggest vulnerability analysis method of Java system class by using Java Call Graph and Java Access Permission Checking Tree. By suggesting that, we want to lay groundwork for preventing Java security threats in advance.

Zeus is one of the will-published malwares. Generally, it infects PC by executing a specific binary file downloaded on the internet. When infected, try to hook a particular Windows API of the currently running processes. If process runs hooked API, this API executes a particular code of Zeus and your private information is leaked. This paper describes techniques to detect and hook Windows API. We believe the technique should be able to detect modern P2P Zeus.
