Recently advanced countries are making every effort to promote the efficiency of electric power production and supply, to deal with the environmental problems, and to develop the new energy. In particular, they are driving forward to develop various technologies for electric power in mid-long term, that are technology for building infrastructure of power transportation, establishing service network for account management using electronic technologies, elevating economic productivity by innovative electronic technologies, control-ling the discharge of global warming gas, using clean efficient energy, and so forth. However, power technology of Korea lagged behind than technology of advanced countries. Also, resources for developing power technology are limited in our country. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the efficiency of R&D investment. For it, our country must compare and analyze with technologies of advanced countries which are taking competitive advantage in the main future energy. Through comparative analysis, limited R&D resources of our country must be concentrated on technologies that can secure competitive advantage from now on.

The use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is the key to operate a change from the traditional manual reading of water meters and sensors to an automated system where high frequency data is remotely collected and analyzed in real time, one of the main components of a Smart Water Grid. The recent boom of ICT offers a wide range of both wired and wireless technologies to achieve this objective. We review and present in this article the most widely recognized technologies and protocols along with their respective advantages, drawbacks and applicability range which can be Home Area Network (HAN), Building Area Network (BAN) or Local/Neighborhood Area Network (LAN/NAN). We also present our findings and we give recommendations on the application of ICT in Smart Water Grids and future work needed.

Korean manufacturing industry have recently faced the catch-up of China in the mass commodity product, such as automotive, display, and smart phone in terms of market as well as technology. Accordingly, discussion on the importance of achieving catch-up in complex product systems (CoPS) has been increasing as a new innovation engine for the industry. In order to achieve successful catch-up of CoPS, we explored emerging technologies of CoPS, which are featured by the characteristics of radical novelty, relatively fast growth and self-sustaining, through the study of emerging technologies of gas turbine for power generation. We found that emerging technologies of the gas turbine are technologies for combustion nozzle and composition of electrical machine for increasing power efficiency, washing technology for particulate matter, cast and material processing technology for enhancing durability from fatigue, cooling technologies from extremely high temperature, interconnection operation technology between renewable energy and the gas turbine for flexibility in power generation, and big data technology for remote monitoring and diagnosis of the gas turbine. We also found that those emerging technologies resulted in technological progress of the gas turbine by converging with other conventional technologies in the gas turbine. It indicates that emerging technologies in CoPS can be appeared on various technological knowledge fields and have complementary relationship with conventional technologies for technology progress of CoPS. It also implies that latecomers need to pursue integrated learning that includes emerging technologies as well as conventional technologies rather than independent learning related to emerging technologies for successful catch-up of CoPS. Our findings provide an important initial theoretical ground for investigating the emerging technologies and their characteristics in CoPS as well as recognizing knowledge management strategy for successful catch-up of latecomers. Our findings also contribute to the policy development of the CoPS from the perspective of innovation strategy and knowledge management.

본 연구는 기술지식의 융 복합화로 인해 특정 산업에서 다른 부분으로 영역이 확장되는 양상을 확인하는 것으로, 비수도권 농촌 지역인 전라북도 순창군의 장류산업을 중심으로 분석하였다. 이를 위해 특허출원 자료를 이용하여 기술융합분석과 지식네트워크분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 국내 장류산업은 단순 식품, 식료품 제조 기술에서 기계 기기나 의약품 및 화장품 관련 기술로 폭넓게 융합이 이루어지는 반면 순창군의 장류산업은 발효미생물 관련 기술 방향으로 특화되고 있다. 이는 산업 전체의 융합 경향을 따라 여러 기술 분야로 확장하기 보다는 순창이 갖는 지역자산과 인력에 맞추어 지역산업을 특화시킨 결과라고 판단된다. 순창군 장류산업의 지식네트워크는 지방정부와 대학, 진흥원 등 공공부문이 주도적인 역할을 하고 있고, 최근 조합법인 형태의 출원자와 공공부문의 협력을 통해 지역 내 기술 공유와 확산을 가져오는 것으로 나타났다.

다양한 기술들이 하나로 융합되어 새로운 기술로 변화되고 있는 현재의 기술사회에서 사회의 변화에 발맞추듯 새로운 사이버공격들이 만들어지고 있다. 특히, 다양한 공격들이 하나로 융합됨으로 인해 기존의 보안 체계만으로 시스템을 보호하는데 어려움이 발생하고 있다. 이와 같은 사이버공격에 대응하기 위해 많은 정보가 생성되고 있다. 하지만, 무분별하게 발생하는 취약점 정보는 관리자에게 불필요한 정보를 제공하여 혼란을 유도할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 딥러닝 기반의 언어 학습 모델을 이용하여 문서를 학습하고, 취약점 정보를 추출하여 MITRE ATT&CK 프레임워크에 따라 분류함으로써 관리자에게 구분화된 취약점 정보를 제공하여 새로이 발생하고 있는 사이버공격 융합 기술의 분석을 보조하는 메커니즘을 제안한다.

본 연구는 융합산업으로 각광받고 있는 헬스케어 분야를 중심으로 기술융합을 이루는 요소기술과 핵심기술을 파악하여 기술융합 현상을 분석하고자 하였으며, 이를 위해 2011년부터 2020년까지의 국내 특허 중 헬스케어와 관련 있는 특허 총 376개를 수집하여 토픽모델링과 네트워크 분석을 수행하였다. 첫째, 토픽모델링 분석 결과 "데이터수집·분석", "생체신호측정", "건강관리", "디지털정보 수집 및 전송", "진단·치료", "측정 진단장치" 총 6개의 주요 토픽이 도출되었다. 둘째, 앞서 분석한 토픽별로 네트워크 분석을 수행하여 기술간 연결망 구조를 파악한 후 기술융합 특성을 확인하고, 중심성 지표를 통해 핵심기술을 도출하였다. 본 연구의 핵심인 국내 헬스케어의 핵심·요소기술동향 및 기술융합도 분석결과는, 기업의 신규 가치창출을 위한 제품·서비스개발 방향성을 수립하거나, 학계 및 정부의 헬스케어 산업을 육성·지원하기 위한 전략 및 정책적인 방향성을 수립하는데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Digital convergence which means the convergence of industry areas related to digital technologies is an important phenomenon in business, which will decide the fates of firms in the near future. The only firms which can create synergy effects from digital convergence are expected to be the winners in the fierce competition of digital convergence era. In our analysis, we examine the strategy of an integrated firm which has businesses in two different industry areas which are related to each other. By using a game theoretical model, we show how the integrated firm can win over two single separated firms which have business in only one industry area each by leveraging the two businesses the integrated firm has. In our welfare analysis, we also show that this convergence may be even beneficial to consumers, which seems counter-intuitive to social concerns about anti-competitive behaviors by integrated firms. Additionally, we study comparison between industry convergence and product convergence.

The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector is undergoing a fundamental transformation. Determinant factors in this transformation process are deregulations and technological advancements. From the value chain perspective, industry convergence plays the most crucial role in the transformation of the established telecommunications and media industries. The objective of this paper is to validate the impact of convergence on the business performance using empirical data. To identify the various effects driven by industry convergence, we analyzed the relationships between firm's degree of convergence and the business performance using regression analysis. From the empirical result with the 2002-2005 data, it was found that the convergence across ICT sectors improves the business performance measured by Tobin's q significantly and this is only a recent phenomenon. These results are consistent with the conjecture that higher degree of convergence is becoming more associated with higher market value.

In this paper, we describe ubiquitous environments and the trend of convergence that is an evolution path of current telecommunication, and show the concept of broadband convergence network, service feature and evolution path. In order to converge wire and wireless communication, telecommunication and broadcasting, voice and data efficiently, broadband convergence network divides a network into service layer, control layer, transport layer, ubiquitous access and terminal layer. Broadband convergence network will be a network that can provide and control broadband multimedia services with QoS and securityof different and customized level. Then we depict characteristics and types of broadband multimedia service, and describe the characteristic of broadband convergence network. Finally, we show ubiquitous network based on the broadband convergence network to provide ubiquitous service which is a future telecommunication service. We also describe requirements of ubiquitous network such as an intelligent and context based platform, convergence terminals, ubiquitous computing devices, etc., and give various emerging technologies and those applications.

People have studied English using online English dictionaries when they looked for the meaning of English words or the example sentences. These days, as the AI technologies such as machine learning have been developing, documents can be translated in real time with Kakao, Papago, Google translators and so on. But, there has still been some problems with the accuracy of translation. The AI secretaries can be used for real-time interpreting, so this kind of systems are being used to translate such the web pages, papers into Korean. In this paper, we researched on the usage frequency of the combined English phrases from dictionaries by analyzing the number of the searched results on Google. With the result of this paper, we expect to help the people to use more English fluently.
