  • The home network is the technique to guarantee a safe, economical, socially integrated, and healthy life to the family and it provides domestic safety, instrument control, controllable energy and health monitoring by the connection of the home appliances using wired and wireless networks. A home control system has been developed for managing and controlling home appliances. This paper designs the broadband PLC home controller using broadband PLC technology which can save much cost at a network infrastructure using the existing power line at a home and design the USB home controller using USB technology which is low cost and has many goods with it. And the embedded home server manages those. The CDMA module provides mobile functions to the home control system in this paper. And we choose the OSGi specification which is compatible with other home middleware and can accept various communication techniques of home network

Design of BLDC Motor Controller for Electric Power Wheelchair

  • The electric power wheelchair needs to control motor torque and speed for responding to variable actions given by handling a joystick. In this paper a DSP-based BLDC motor controller using a single dc-link current sensor is presented for electric power wheelchair. It is composed by a DSP processor and three-phase inverter module. To control torque, high speed current control is achieved by the PI controller and pulse width modulation (PWM) signals with 25 kHz carrier frequency, which is performed by 200 ${\mu}sec$ cycle. The speed controller computes the new direct current reference from the speed error and the PI control equation. The displacement value by handling the joystick is converted to reference speeds of right and left wheel motors using nonholonomic wheelchair kinematics. Experimental results show that the presented control system is enough to implement a speed servo in wheelchair driving.

  • Autonomous mobile robots are required to achieve multiple goals while responding quickly to the dynamic environments. An appropriate robot control architecture, which clearly and systematically defines the relationship among the inputs, the processing functions and the outputs, thus needs to be embedded in the robot controller. This paper proposes a kind of hybrid control architecture which combines the key features of the two well-known robot control architectures; hierarchical and behavioral- based. The overall control architecture consists of three layers, i.e. the highest planner, the middle plan executor, and the lowest monitor and behavior-based controller. In the planned situation, only one behavior module is chosen by the logical coordinator in the plan executor according to the way point bin. In the exceptional situation, the central controller in the plan executor issues an additional control command to reach the planned way point. Several simulations and experiments with autonomous mobile robot show that the proposed architecture enables the robot controller to achieve the multiple sequential goals even in dynamic and uncertain environments.

Implementation of a No Pulse Competition CPS-SPWM Technique Based on the Concentrated Control for Cascaded Multilevel DSTATCOMs

  • Digital signal processor (DSP) and field programmable gate array (FPGA) based concentrated control systems are designed for implementing CPS-SPWM strategies. The self-defined universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter (UART) protocol is used for communication between a master controller and an individual module controller via high speed links. Aimed at undesired pulse competition, this paper analyzes its generation mechanism and presents a new method for eliminating competition pulses with no time delay. Finally, the proposed concentrated controller is applied to a 10kV/10MVar distribution static synchronous compensator (DSTATCOM) industrial prototype. Experimental results show the accuracy and reliability of the concentrated controller, and verify the superiority of the proposed elimination method for competition pulses.

FUZZY PID 방법을 이용한 개별 공조시스템의 급기온도 제어 (A FUZZY PID Control of Supply Duct Outlet Air Temperature for PEM)

  • The work presented here provides a control of the supply duct outlet air temperature in PEM (personal environment module) using fuzzy PID controller. In previous work, PID control systems were used, but the result shows that the outlet air temperature and electric heater regulating voltage were oscillated. Fuzzy PID control systems are designed to improve the system response obtained using PID control and implemented experimentally Also, PID controller and fuzzy controller without PID logic are provided to compare the result with that of the fuzzy PID controller. Data obtained shows that the fuzzy PID control system satisfies the design criteria and works proper1y in controlling the supply air temperature. Also it has bettor performance than the previous result obtained using PID control.

  • $\textbullet$ A PC can control the fixed number of motors because the number of slots is limited. $\textbullet$ We propose a distributed motion controller using CAN. $\textbullet$ TMS320F243 of TI Which is a DSP with embedded CAN-module was used as the main processor. $\textbullet$ The command from GUI is transmitted to each motion controller through CAN-bus $\textbullet$ CAN communications may occur at a maximum recommended rate of 1Mbit/sec. $\textbullet$ The user can control more motors easily by connecting to the CAN network which has the CAN receive. $\textbullet$ This distributed motion controller may be used usefully in factory automation or an unmanned factory.

  • This study aims at developing the high speed/intelligent machining system suing the plug/play method of an open architecture controller. The plug/play technology by the Application Specific Function (ASF), can readily implement the open architecture controller into various machining system or other automatic equipments. For the open architecture controller, this study developed the open HMI, screen editor, ASF, visual builder, and controller OS technology as software components. On the other hand, we developed the I/O module and main board as control hardware system. This study, as an example, presents integration of individual component technologies for the plug/play type open architecture CNC system.

디지탈 논리회로 설계 및 모의 실험 실습을 위한 인터넷 기반 교육용 소프트웨어 패키지 개발 (Development of the Internet-Based Educational Software Package for the Design and Virtual Experiment of the Digital Logic Circuits)

  • 본 논문에서는 인터넷을 이용한 디지탈 논리회로 설계 및 모의실험실습을 위한 교육용 소프트웨어 패키지(DVLab)를 개발하였다. 개발된 패키지는 디지탈 조합/순차회로는 물론 마이크로콘트롤러 응용회로까지 설계하고 시뮬레이션할 수 있는 모듈, 브레드보드 시뮬레이터 모듈, 실험항목별 이론 강의를 위한 모듈, 보고서 작성 및 보고서 자동검사 모듈 등을 포함하고 있다. 개발된 모든 모듈들은 독립적인 응용 프로그램으로 뿐만 아니라 인터넷을 이용한 사용이 가능하며, 특히 시뮬레이터 모듈의 경우 실시간 클럭 제공, 설계회로도 상에서 직접 소자의 출력값 확인, 논리값 변화 기록 기능, 설계회로 복사 방지 기능, 다양한 논리회로 소자뿐만 아니라 LED, buzzer등과 같은 시각적, 청각적 소자 제공 등의 특징을 가진다. 또한 개발된 교육용 패키지를 이용한 디지탈 논리회로 실험실습 과목의 학습 모형을 제시하였다.

재구성 가능한 FPGA 시스템 상에 퍼지 제어기으 구현 (An Implementation of Fuzzy Logic Controller on the Reconfigurable FPGA System)

  • 본 논문은 재구성 가능한 FPGA 시스템 상에 퍼지 제어기의 구현 방안을 다룬다. 제안한 구현 방안은 퍼지 제어기를 시간적으로 독립적인 여러모듈로 분할 하여 이들을 미리 독립적으로구현하여 둔다음 각 시점에서 원하는 모듈을 불러 사용하는 실행 시점(run-time)재구성 방법으로 하나의 FPGA가 갖는 셀 직접도의 제약으로 인해 하나의 FPGA 칩상에 전체 퍼지 제어기를 구현하기가 불가능한 경우에 효과적으로 이용될수 있다. 이를 위해 퍼지 제어기의 각 모듈은 VHDL언어로 기술되어 FPGA 컴파일러에 의해 합성된후 Xilinx사의 Xact 장비에 의해 최적화 및 배치 배선이 수행되어 FPGA상에 eidnsfhem 가능한 하드웨어 객체(hardware object)상태로만들어진다. 이후 퍼지 제어기를 구현하기 위해서는 각시점에 원하는 무듈의 하드웨어 객체를 불러 FPGA를 재구성한다, 트럭 후진 주차제어용 퍼지 제어기를 제안한 실행 시간 재구성법에 의해 직접 구현하여 제어 동작 상태를 테스트해 봄으로서 제안한 퍼지 제어기 구현 방법의 타당성을 확인하였다.

스마트팩토리 구축을 위한 다중 무선통신 컨트롤러 개발 (Development of Multiple Wireless Communication Controller for Smart Factory Construction)

  • Due to recent industry 4.0, manufacturing has changed a lot. In particular, it is necessary to control the controller and controller of the control system, to communicate various production information and measurement information, and to produce a database in accordance with the flexible production for a small quantity of various items, and to manage the trend of major parts of production facilities. In this paper, we developed a multiple wireless communication controller for small scale control system for smart factory by applying XBee and microcomputer. This controller is cheap and easy to build multi-radio communication environment of 1: N and can control and monitor control system. In addition, we tested multiple wireless communication controllers by using signal processing device and C++, and constructed network, control, and database for mechanism module, and confirmed effectiveness for industrial application.
