  • In this paper, an efficient signal interference control technique to improve the convergence speed of Adaptive transversal filter with LMS algorithm is introduced. The convergence characteristics of the proposed algorithm, whose coefficients are multiply adapted in a symbol time period by recycling the received data, are analyzed to prove theoretically the improvement of convergence speed. According as the step-size parameter ${\mu}$ is increased, the rate of convergence of the algorithm is controlled. Increasing the eigenvalue spread has the effect of controlling down the rate of convergence of the adaptive equalizer and also increasing the steady-state value of the average squared error and also demonstrate the superiority of signal interference control to the filter algorithm increasing convergence speed by (B+1) times due to the data-recycling LMS Algorithms.

According as the step-size parameter $\mu$ is increased, the rate of convergence of the algorithm is controlled. • Calcineurin is a serine/threonine protein phosphatase controlled by $Ca^{2+}$ and calmodulin that has been implicated in various signaling pathways. Previously, we reported that calcineurin regulates coelomocyte endocytosis in Caenorhabditis elegans. So far, simple and powerful in vivo approaches have been developed to study various endocytic processes in C. elegans. Using these in vivo assays, we further analyzed the endocytic phenotypes of calcineurin mutants. We observed that the calcineurin mutants were defective in apical endocytosis in the intestine as well as synaptic vesicle recycling in the nerve cord. However, we found that calcineurin mutants displayed normal receptor-mediated endocytosis in oocytes. Therefore, our results suggest that calcineurin may regulate specific sets of endocytic processes in nematode.

  • The dissolution behavior of gold and silver from gold-silver alloys in aerated cyanide solutions has been investigated by an electrochemical means as well as a direct measurement of gold and silver ions reported in the bulk solution as a function of time using rotating disc electrodes. The variables studied included oxygen partial pressure, rotating speed of the disc, concentration of cyanide, temperature and composition of the allyos. The dissolution potential and the rate of dissolution were obtained in view of the anodic and cathodic current-potential relationships. The results were discussed in terms of the mixed potential theory. The results showed that the dissolution rate of gold and silver from the alloys was controlled partially by chemical reaction. but largely by transport of either oxygen or cyanide, depending on their relative concentration under the experimental conditions employed in this study.

  • Vibration-controlled concrete has been developed by using various concrete mixtures, such as latex, rubber powders, plastic resins and polystyrene(styrofoam). As part of the recycling research of obsolete aged tires and plastic materials, various vibration-reducing mixtures are used for 10 concrete panels having above 200 kg/cm$^2$ in uniaxial compressive strength. Plywood box with sand uniformly saturated by the raining device has been used for the analysis of the impact wave, of which data have been transfered by the FFT technique to comparatively investigate damping ratios of 10 concrete panels.According to wave propagation analysis on vibration-controlled concrete for this research, it can be concluded that Latex concrete has relatively larger damping ratios than those for noncontrolled normal concrete in a similar compressive strength

  • Many problems are occurred by using industrial by-product and municipal solid waste in the cement manufacturing process. The main components of chlorine by-pass dust generated by the use of the wastes are $K^+$, $Cl^-$, and a slight amount of heavy metals is also contained. In terms of waste recycling, it is necessary to eliminate the heavy metals. Therefore, in this study, the experiments for the removal of heavy metals from KCl which was produced by chlorine by-pass dust were conducted. In order to find optimum conditions for the removal of heavy metals, we have controlled the amount of water and precipitator. The type and concentration of heavy metals in KCl were analyzed. The concentration of heavy metals decreased as amount of precipitator increased. The heavy metals such as Pb, Cd, and As were not detected in dust A and B, when the mixing ratios between dust A(B) and water were controlled to be 1:2 (1:2, 1:3.5) with the addition of 3% precipitator (NaOCl).

  • This research aims to find an effective mixing method for controlled low strength material (CLSM) using diverse recycled industrial byproducts. This study is a fundamental research to develop and commercialize a resource-recycling CLMS that can greatly contribute to cost reduction and environmental stress relief. In the past, few studies have been performed on CLSM in Korea. This research is expected to provide fundamental data not only for development and commercialization of the resource-recycling CLSM satisfying required material performances but also serve as a ground breaking study on utilization of recycled material in construction industry and ultimately leading to advanced resource-recycling practices at national level. From the comprehensive analysis of minimum unit quantity for maximum strength and material segregation prevention, it was found that the optimal mixing condition for mixing FSD, RSID and SD material to filler-aggregate ratio (f/a) was approximately 50.
