The new rheology fabrication process has been developed to rheo die casting and rheo forming process. Thixoforming process has disadvantages in terms of induction reheating process, scrap recycling, loss of raw material and cycle time. Therefore, to reduce the number of process, new rheology fabrication process with specially designed the rotational barrel type equipment has been proposed to apply in various part productions. The barrel type equipment, which could continuously fabricate the rheology materil, was specially designed to have a function to control cooling rate, shear rate and temperature. During the continuous rotation of barrel with a constant temperature, the shear rate is controlled with the rotation speed. The barrel surface has both the induction heating system and the cooling system to control the temperature of molten metal. By using this system, the effect of the rotation speed and the rotation time on the microstructure was widely examined. The possibility for the rheoforming process was investigated with microstructural characteristic.

Performance of a water-to-water multi-type heat pump system using R22 has been experimentally investigated. Total refrigerant flow rate was adjusted with a variable speed compressor and the refrigerant flow rate for two indoor units were controlled by electronic expansion valves. Evaporator outlet pressure of refrigerant and indoor unit outlet temperatures of secondary fluid were selected as controlled variables. Experiments were carried out for both cooling and heating modes using PID control method. Results show that the multi-type heat pump system can be adequately controlled by keeping control gains at certain levels for various operating conditions.

The cycle time in injection moulding greatly depends on the cooling time of the plastic part that is controlled by cooling channels. Cooling channels are required to facilitate the heat transfer rate from the die to the coolant without reducing the strength of the die. Employing layered manufacturing techniques (LMT), a die embedding conformal cooling channels can be fabricated directly while conventional cooling channels are usually made of straight drilled hole. Meanwhile, H13 tool steel is widely used as the die material because of its high thermal resistance and dimensional stability. However, H13 with a low thermal conductivity is not efficient for certain part geometries. In this context, the use of functionally graded materials (FGMs) between H13 and copper may circumvent a tradeoff between the strength and the heat transfer rate. This paper presents a method for modeling of conformal cooling channels made of FGMs.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of sperm preservation according to the various kinds of commercially available semen extenders and to investigate the effect of sperm preservation according to the various temperature storages of fresh-extended porcine semen. To investigate the effect of sperm preservation according to the various kinds of commercially available semen extenders, porcine semens diluted in 3 semen extenders, Beltsville Thawing Solution(BTS), Androhep and Kiev, were cooled at $8^{\circ}C$ storage temperature with a controlled cooling rate of $2-4^{\circ}C$/h. Motility, progressive motility, normal sperm(%) and sperm morphology were assessed comparatively. In motility and progressive motility, Androhep extenders revealed better result than other extenders. In normal sperm(%) and sperm morphology, 3 semen extenders revealed similar results. To investigate the effect of sperm preservation according to the various temperature storages of fresh-extended porcine semen, porcine semens diluted in BTS extender, were cooled at 3 storage temperatures($8^{\circ}C$, $12^{\circ}C$ and $17^{\circ}C$) with a controlled cooling rate of $2-4^{\circ}C$/h. Motility, progressive motility, normal sperm(%) and sperm morphology were assessed comparatively. In motility and progressive motility, $8^{\circ}C$ treatment group revealed better result than $12^{\circ}C$ and $17^{\circ}C$ treatment groups. In normal sperm(%) and sperm morphology, 3 temperatures of treatment groups revealed similar results.

The effects of spot cooling on growing ever-bearing strawberry in hydroponic cultivation during summer by spot cooling system was estimated in plastic greenhouse located in Pyeongchang. The temperature of cooling water was controlled by heat pump and maintained at the range of $15{\sim}20^{\circ}C$. Cooling pipes were installed in root zone and very close to crown. Spot cooling effect was estimated by applying system in three cases which were cooling root zone, crown plus root zone, and crown only. White low density polyethylene pipe in nominal diameter of 16 mm was installed on crown spot, and Stainless steel flexible pipe in nominal diameter of 15A was installed in root zone. Crown and root zone cooling water circulation was continuously performed at flowrates of 300 ~ 600 L/hr all day long. Strawberry yields by test beds were surveyed from Aug. 1 to Sep. 30. The accumulated yield growth rate compared with a control bed of crown cooling bed was 25 % and that of crown plus root zone cooling bed was 25 % and that of root zone cooling bed was 20 %. The temperatures of root spot in root zone cooling was maintained at $18{\sim}23.0^{\circ}C$ and that of crown spot in crown cooling was maintained at $19{\sim}24^{\circ}C$. Also, the temperatures of root spot in crown plus root zone cooling bed was maintained at $17.0{\sim}22.0^{\circ}C$ and that of crown spot was maintained at $19{\sim}25^{\circ}C$.

High temperature superconducting (HTS) power cable requires forced sub-cooled LN2 flow cooling. Liquid nitrogen is circulated by a pump and cooled back by cooling system. Typical operating temperature range is expected to be between 65 K and 77 K. The HTS power cable needs sufficient cooling to overcome its low temperature heat load. For successful cooling, the hydraulic characteristics of the HTS power cable must be well investigated to design the cables. Especially, the pressure drop in the cable is an important design parameter, because the pressure drop decides the length of the cable, size of the coolant circulation pump and circulation pressure, etc. This paper describes measurement and investigation of the pressure drop of the cooling system. In order to reduce the total pressure drop of the cooling system, the flow rate of liquid nitrogen must be controlled by rotational speed of the circulation pump.

This study deals with the heat-treatment technique of SM45C steel with respect to less of deformation in control. The whole process for the production of landing gear must go through with uniformally controlled heat treatment, where as most deformation usually occur in nonuniform cooling environment. When a heated metal is submerged into a certain quenchant, the rate of cooling rapidity can be measured rather slow during the early stage of the procedure due to an Occurrence of a vapor blanked. As the additional course of cooling action is applied and the vapor from a vapor blanked is destroyed simultaneously, the speed of cooling promptness can be considered rather swift. The object of this study is to control the certain deformations as in the procedure of a heat treatment for landing gear by analyzing and improving the conditions of different substance of quenching liquids. Several noticeable curves indicating the temperature variation on the ap-plied metals during the cooling procedures, along with detectable rates of water verses oil and that of different polymer solutions are illustrated.

In order to assess the reliability of a building energy simulation program (TRNSYS) from the standpoint of user, a set of verification experiment and calculation of cooling load for a test space is carried out. This work is a complement of the previous study that dealt with heating load for the same space. The test space is kept airtight to eliminate the source of uncertainties in modeling. A window-mounted, on/off controlled air-conditioner is used for cooling, whose performance has been established a priori. The calculation encompasses two models for evaluating cooling load in TRNSYS: energy rate control and temperature level control. Comparison of the total cooling loads obtained from different sets of experimental data enables to validate the measurements. The experimental result shows that the latent load is fairly large even in the absence of apparent air change in the space, which needs to be clarified. Each of hourly and daily accumulated sensible loads is compared between the experiment and two calculation models. Despite an inconsistency associated with solar irradiation, both of the models agree favorably with the experiment within a tolerance, illustrating their capability of properly predicting space thermal loads.

Thermoplastic composite has been limitedly used in high performance aerospace industry due to relatively low mechanical properties even though it has various advantages. But, thermoplastic aromatic polymer composite has recently been researched and utilized much. In this study, PEEK and PPS neat resin film as representative thermoplastic aromatic polymer were processed through continuous heating, cooling and reheating cycle. Property change such as glass transition temperature and melting temperature were identified and crystallinity variation by different cooling rate were evaluated. In the first (heating) run, polymer specimens were kept for 5 minutes at higher temperature than melting point to remove previous thermal history, and crystallization reaction was controlled by adjusting cooling rate to 2, 5, 10, 20 and $40^{\circ}C/minute$ in the second (cooling) run. In the third (heating) run, specimen crystallinity were verified by measuring the melting enthalpy. The initial specimens containing high portion of amorphous structure exhibited cold crystallization and clear glass transition in the first run whereas they did not show in the third run due to the increase of crystalline structure portion. As cooling rate decreases through the second cooling run, the crystallinity of the specimen increased. PEEK polymer had 21.9~39.3% crystallinity depending on cooling rate change whereas PPS polymer showed 29.1~31.2%.
There occur not only many problems in the injection process but also low quality productivity due to the injection conditions of various injection factors. Injection molding process factors such as molding temperature, injection pressure, flow rate and flow velocity, must be controlled properly in filling and packing phases in the injection molding process. In this study, effects of these factors on the injection molding were investigated through the flow analysis for the holding pressure affecting cooling time. Results of this study would be helpful to setting of holding pressure for optimization of forming condition in order to reduce cooling time in injection molding.
