분자진동을 이용한 터널 배수공 막힘 억제의 실내시험 연구 (Laboratory Test of Molecular Vibration for Preventing Drainage Pipe Blockage in Deteriorated Tunnel)

  • 최근 국내 터널들이 노후화됨에 따라 배수공 막힘현상이 가장 큰 문제점 중 하나로 보수대책 공법이 필요한 실정이다. 현재는 유지 관리용 Robot이나 Water Jet Cleaning공법 등으로 배수공 내 생성된 스케일을 제거하고 있지만 비용이 비싸고 주기적인 관리를 필요로 하는 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 터널 배수공 내의 스케일을 SEM-EDS와 XRD로 분석하였고, 침전물은 탄산칼슘($CaCO_3$)성분의 스케일로 calcite로 확인되었다. 침전물 생성 억제 및 제거를 위해 퀀텀스틱 신기술을 사용하여 개방형 배수시험, 순환식 폐쇄수조시험을 실시하였다. 무게측정분석, 육안분석, 경도변화분석을 통하여 요소기술로 인한 스케일 생성량이 확연히 줄었음을 확인하였다. 결과적으로 퀀텀스틱이 배수공 내 침전물 생성을 방지하는데 효과가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

The effect of sucrose on infants during a painful procedure

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test the efficacy of treating the pain among newborn infants associated with a medical procedure with sucrose with regard to overall physiological and behavioral stability. Methods: 103 newborn infants were enrolled in this study. The control group (n=63) did not receive any treatment. The experimental group (n=40) received 2 mL of 24% sucrose solution two minutes before a routine heel stick. The pain was assessed by measurements of physiological changes [e.g. pulse rate, oxygen saturation, salivary cortisol (hydrocortisone)] and behavioral changes [e.g. crying time, and the neonatal infant pain scale (NIPS) for neonates]. Results: There were no differences among the groups with respect to physiological changes associated with the pain from the procedure. However, there were significant group differences in behavioral changes to the pain. In the control group, the median crying time was 13 seconds, while in the experimental group, the median crying time was 3.5 seconds ($P$=.000). In the control group the median NIPS score was 4, while in the experimental group the median NIPS score was 2 ($P$=.000). Conclusions: These findings suggest that sucrose can be an effective method for the management of stress responses in infants with regard to behavior. However, this treatment had no significant physiological effects.

Fabry-Perot 필터를 이용한 가변 광섬유격자의 반사파장 자동조절 (An Automatic Control of Reflective Wavelength of TFBG Using Fabry-Perot Filter)

  • 본 논문에서는 광섬유격자 반사파장의 중심값을 자동으로 조절하기 위한 시스템을 제안하고 구현한 내용을 기술한다. 제안한 시스템은 Fabry-Perot 필터와 컴퓨터에 연결된 스텝 모터로 제어되는 외팔보 구조로 구성된다. 외팔보의 두께 변화와 밀대의 미는 위치에 따른 주어진 광섬유격자 반사파장의 스펙트럼 모양과 중심값의 변화를 살펴본다. 제안한 시스템은 광섬유격자에 압축 또는 인장을 가함으로서 0.01 nm 분해능으로 광섬유격자 반사파장의 중심값을 제어할 수 있다. 본 시스템은 광섬유격자 주위 환경 조건의 변화에도 원하는 반사파장을 유지하는 특성을 가진다.

Effects of environmental enrichment on growth performance, carcass traits, meat quality, and hair follicle development of Rex rabbits

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate growth performance, carcass traits, meat quality and hair follicle development of growing Rex rabbits as affected by different environmental enrichment materials. Methods: A total of one hundred and twenty Rex rabbits were randomly assigned to four groups; reared in conventional cages (not enriched) and in enriched cages with either willow stick (WS), rubber duck, or a can containing beans (CB), for 44 days. Results: The average daily gain of the CB group was the highest and had a significant difference from that of the other groups (p<0.05). The spleen and cecum weight of the CB group was greater than those of the WS and control groups (p<0.05). The redness (Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage a*) of the meat sample of the control group was lower than those of the enriched cage groups (p<0.05). Moreover, the hue value of the CB group was significantly lower than that of the other groups (p<0.05). The tenderest meat belonged to the CB group. In addition, more secondary (p<0.05) and primary follicles were found in the CB group than in the control group. Conclusion: Environmental enrichment increased the average daily gain and improved some carcass traits, meat quality, and hair follicle density. Among the three environmental enrichment materials, CB could be recommended for rabbit husbandry.

Dynamic mechanism of rock mass sliding and identification of key blocks in multi-fracture rock mass

  • There are many joint fissures distributed in the engineering rock mass. In the process of geological history, the underground rock mass undergoes strong geological processes, and undergoes complex geological processes such as fracture breeding, expansion, recementation, and re-expansion. In this paper, the damage-stick-slip process (DSSP), an analysis model used for rock mass failure slip, was established to examine the master control and time-dependent mechanical properties of the new and primary fractures of a multi-fractured rock mass under the action of stress loading. The experimental system for the recemented multi-fractured rock mass was developed to validate the above theory. First, a rock mass failure test was conducted. Then, the failure stress state was kept constant, and the fractured rock mass was grouted and cemented. A secondary loading was applied until the grouted mass reached the intended strength to investigate the bearing capacity of the recemented multi-fractured rock mass, and an acoustic emission (AE) system was used to monitor AE events and the update of damage energy. The results show that the initial fracture angle and direction had a significant effect on the re-failure process of the cement rock mass; Compared with the monitoring results of the acoustic emission (AE) measurements, the master control surface, key blocks and other control factors in the multi-fractured rock mass were obtained; The triangular shaped block in rock mass plays an important role in the stress and displacement change of multi-fracture rock mass and the long fissure and the fractures with close fracture tip are easier to activate, and the position where the longer fractures intersect with the smaller fractures is easier to generate new fractures. The results are of great significance to a multi-block structure, which affects the safety of underground coal mining.

Numerical Analysis on Letdown System Performance Test for YGN 3

  • Integrated performance test of Chemical and Volume Control System was successfully performed in 1994. However, an extensive effort to correct hardware and software problems in the letdown line was required mainly due to the lack of adequate simulation code to predict the test accurately. Although the LTC computer code was used during the YGN 3'||'&'||'4 NSSS design process, the code can not satisfactorily predict the test due to it insufficient letdown line modeling. This study developed a numerical model to simulate the letdown test by modifying the current LTC code, and then verified the model by comparing with the test data. The comparison shows that the modified LTC computer code can predict the transient behavior of letdown system lese very well. Especially, the model was verified to be able to predict the "Stiction (composition of stick and friction)" phenomena which caused instantaneous fluctuations in the letdown backpressure and flowrate. Therefore, it is concluded that the modified LTC computer code with the ability of calculating the "Stiction" phenomena will be very useful for future plant design and test predictions.predictions.

가변형 비행시뮬레이터 조종실 개발 (The Cockpit Development for the Reconfigurable Flight Simulator)

  • 공대공 공대지 가상 공중 교전모의시험이 가능한 가상현실기술이 구현된 가변형 비행 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 가변형 비행시뮬레이터의 가변 조종실은 국내에서 운용 중인 F-15K, KF-16, T/A-50 급 기종 모의가 가능하며, 터치형 액정시현기를 활용하여 그래픽 계기를 구현함으로써 누구나 손쉽고 빠르게 기종변경이 가능하다. 조종간과 쓰로틀은 모의기종에 맞게 교체가 가능하며, 외부영상시현장치는 국내최초로 Video See-Through Type HMD를 적용하여 조종사의 몰입감을 최대화 시킬 수 있도록 구성하였다.

  • The errors in machining process by CNC machining center are due to many elements, such as the delay of the servo drivers, friction and the gain mismatch between x-axis and y-axis motors and so on. We made a counter circuit to measure the output of motor encoders for the motion error analysis of a CNC machining center, and have measured the errors experimentally when the CNC performs a circular interpolation. We have also used an iterative learning method to reduce the radius errors and stick motion errors generated by the CNC machining center performing a circular interpolation. The proposed learning scheme worked well and the circle obtained has smaller error.

  • Seven axis modular type pneumatic manipulator is composed of electro-pneumatic automation system which contributes to factory automation by performing loading & unloading process successively which is simple routine work of dealing item of machine tool, catapult, assembly machine, welding machine and so on. In this study, we obtained soft and quick movement in a large space and good reliability motion of various function by combining several actuators which perform rotation movement as well as linear movement at the same time. Gripper which apply to rotary sensor transmitted a structure to demanded position. This development item of 5kgf load prevent stick-slip phenomena of stroke end by designing high cushion internal. We develope flexible manipulator which conforms to demand of user by applying multiple sequence program.

초정밀 구동을 위한 6 자유도 스테이지의 설계와 모델링 (Design and Modeling of a 6-dof Stage for Ultra-Precision Positioning)

  • A 6-DOF precision stage was developed based on parallel kinematics structure with flexure hinges to eliminate backlash, stick-slip and friction and to minimize parasitic motion coupled with motions in the other-axis directions. For the stage, lever linkage mechanism was devised to reduce the height of system for the enhancement of horizontal stiffness. Frequency response comparison between experimental results and mathematical model extracted from dynamics of the stage was performed to identify the system parameters such as spring constants and damping coefficients of actuation modules, which cannot be calculated accurately by analytic methods owing to their complicated structures. This newly developed precision stage and its identified model will be very useful for precision positioning and control because of its high accuracy and non-coupled movement.
