  • This paper is intended to provide a method to design control software for the TCMS, train control and monitoring system. The TCMS with this control software will be applied KOREA Standard EMU. The control software is designed by SCADE Case tool to concern safety and reliability. The function for the EMU is implemented in software easily programmed, using a functional block, graphic programming language. The control software has modular design and each module is tested with SCADE simulator. This time we focus a Driving control module, including brake control module, and present a design method and a simulation method for that module.

  • A wire communication module for PLC controller was developed. This system consists of RF module interface part, RS232 serial communication control part, LED display part and control S/W with GUI interface. RF communication frequency is controlled by PLL controlling and communication rate is also controlled as 1200 and 4800 bps. Communication and control status are displayed on LED. As a S/W part, graphic user interface on Window 95 O.S. was developed. To show the validity of the developed system, severial communication and control of PLC system were experemented.

  • To provide pleasant building environment and the ease of maintenance and facility management, many new office buildings are being built as intelligent buildings. Building control systems which are employed in intelligent buildings require advanced types of controllers and varieties of control schemes. Designing and installation of these types of advanced building control systems take a lot of effort and also they are costly. In order to design these systems, it is necessary for the designers to have means to analyze and estimate the performance of control systems. The simulator which is presented in this paper is composed of three parts, HVAC simulation module, elevator simulation module, and evacuation modeling module for the outbreak of fire or similar disasters. In this paper, the functions and modelling method for each module are explained and simulation results are presented.

  • Intelligent Wearable Module is intelligent system that arises when a human is part of the feedback loop of a computational process like a certain control system. Applied system is mobile robot. This paper represents the mobile robot control system remote controlled by Intelligent Wearable Module. So far, owing to the development of internet technologies, lots of remote control methods through internet have been proposed. To control a mobile robot through internet and guide it under unknown environment, We propose a control method activated by Intelligent Wearable Module. In a proposed system, PDA acts as a user interface to communicate with notebook as a controller of the mobile robot system using TCP/IP protocol, and the notebook controls the mobile robot system. Tlle information about the direction and velocity of the mobile robot feedbacks to the PDA and the PDA send new control method produced from the fuzzy inference engine.

  • In large-area LCD displays, we have developed two new control technologies for high-power LED backlight. The Novel control technology called scanning control and local gray control. In addition, a conceptual display system power management was developed. We have implemented high power-LED module driving system which can achieve power saving and cost down. Finally, we designed LED light-bar module of the side type as a backlight source. It not only achieved light & thin but also reduced the quantity of LEDs.

High Response and Precision Control of Electronic Throttle Controller Module without Hall Position Sensor for Detecting Rotor Position of BLDCM

  • This paper describes the characteristics of Electronic Throttle Controller (ETC) module in BLDC motor without the hall sensor for detecting a rotor position. The proposed ETC control system, which is mainly consisted of a BLDC motor, a throttle plate, a return spring and reduction gear, has a position sensor with an analogue voltage output on the throttle valve instead of BLDC motor for detecting the rotor position. So the additional commutation information is necessarily needed to control the ETC module. For this, the estimation method is applied. In order to improve and obtain the high resolution for the position control, it is generally needed to change the gear ratio of the module or the electrical switching method etc. In this paper, the 3-phase switching between successive commutations is adapted instead of the 2-phase switching that is conventionally used. In addition, the position control with a variable PI gain is applied to improve a dynamic response during a transient period and reduce vibration at a stop in case of matching position reference. The mentioned method can be used to estimate the commutation state and operate the high-precision position control for the ETC module and the high response characteristics. The validity of the proposed method is examined through the experimental results.

A Study on Satisfaction Evaluation of Korean Medicine Therapy Using Treatment Tool by Psychological Type (심리유형별 진료도구를 이용한 한방치료의 만족도 평가 연구)

  • Objectives : This study was designed to evaluate patient satisfaction of Korean medicine therapy using treatment tool by psychological type. Methods : 48 subjects were participated in this study. Before a treatment, we analyzed a patient's phychological type first by using a questionnaire. And then we divided 3 groups which were called a rational sympathy module group, emotional sympathy module group, control group. Manner of medical consultation according to patient's phychological type was carried out in all groups. After all treatment, we conducted a survey about medical service perception index, patient happiness index, medical satisfaction index. To evaluate a satisfaction degree, we analyzed results of survey statistically. Results : The results of the analysis, both rational sympathy module group and emotional sympathy module group got a higher score than control group statistical significantly on medical service perception index. Emotional sympathy module group got a higher score than control group statistical significantly on patient happiness index and medical satisfaction index. But rational sympathy module group only had a higher tendency than control group on patient happiness index and medical satisfaction index. Emotional sympathy module group got a higher score than rational sympathy module group on medical service perception index, patient happiness index and medical satisfaction index. Conclusions : Korean medicine therapy using treatment tool by psychological type consisted of patient's phychological type questionnaire and manner of medical consultation could improve a patient's satisfaction. It was more effective in emotional sympathy module group than rational sympathy module group.

Design and Implementation of Embedded Ethernet Module for Home Network (홈 네트워크를 위한 Embedded Ethernet Module 설계 및 구현)

  • The necessity of the home network have been enlarged gradually according to the distribution of ultra-high speed internet, the expansion of a digital information equipment and the change of a life pattern. In this paper, we proposed the embedded ethernet module that could be operate on eight bit system, but it could control home appliance with full ethernet speed. The embedded ethernet module consists of 8051 MCU and Hardware TCP/IP. In this module, we construct simple web server and port remote control program for I/O device control. We verified through internet that the developed embedded ethernet module could control and check home appliances anywhere and anytime. We expect the developed ethernet module can build up niche market at home network. And it will be helpful to activate home network market.

  • Compact Camera Module(CCM) is widely used in PDA, Celluar phone and PC web camera. With the greatly increasing use for mobile applications, there has been a considerable demands for high speed production of CCM. The major burden of production of CCM is assembly of lens module onto CCD or CMOS packaged circuit board. After module is assembled, the CCM is inspected. In this paper, we developed the image capture board for CCM and the imaging processing algorithm to inspect the defects in captured image of assembled CCMs. The performances of the developed inspection system and its algorithm are tested on samples of 10000 CCMs. Experimental results reveal that the proposed system can focus the lens of CCM within 5s and we can recognize various types of defect of CCM modules with good accuracy and high speed.

  • In this paper, a method for implementing software for the control system with dual structure in processor module is proposed and implemented to enhance its reliability. In this implementation the multi-tasking function which is provided by a real-time operating system is applied. The overall softwre is divided into five tasks and is performed in each of the dual processor module, independently. By this, the processor module with dual structure can achieve a control objective and fault diagnostics effectively. An experimental result shows that the backup processor module can be substituted for the primary processor module immediately when it happens to fail, because data relating the failure information are exchanged continuously done via shared memories.
