Analyzing Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Public Sector-An Indian Contextual Study

  • In spite of the interest related to the entrepreneurship, the problems related to the creation of companies by the public civils servant still remain unanswered and not unanimously identified. In fact, a central question arises in this respect: "which are the factors which encourage the public civils servant to launch out in the creation of their own company?" or "how can one explain the entrepreneurial intention of the public civils servant?". For this end, and after having reviewed the principal subjacent factors of the entrepreneurial intention as well as the central assumptions of our research task, we will devote the second part to the empirical validation of the explanatory factors of the entrepreneurial intention in the specific case of the Indian public civils servant while proposing some recommendations on the matter.

Examining the Effects of Perceived Innovation Climate on Job Calling and Extra-Role Behaviors: Mediation Analyses

  • Experiencing work as a calling has been associated with various positive work-related attitudes and outcomes. Recent studies have examined personal and contextual factors related to job calling; however, gaps remain in the literature on how employees' perception of organizational environment may lead to the formation of employees' job calling. We focused on psychological climate of innovation as the predictor of employees' job calling and further investigated its effect on extra-role behaviors, including innovative work behavior (IWB) and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). A total of 165 Malaysian employees from diverse industries and organizations participated in a self-reported online questionnaire. We found support for the mediation model in which the association between a psychological climate of innovation and increased extra-role behaviors through increased job calling. Altogether, these findings provided new insights into the important role of innovative climate on employees' job calling and the mediating role of job calling on extra-role behaviors within occupational settings. Theoretical and practical implications are further discussed.

Ethical Perspectives in Studying the Participatory Behavior of Refugee Youth: The Case of Sports and Leisure Activities

  • Purpose: For several decades, there has been a variety of publications on refugee and enforced immigration studies, with the rising corpus of studies on obligatory displacement and sport reflecting relatively recent emphasis over the last decade. However, prior studies do not suggest and summarize regarding ethical perspectives in terms of participatory behavior of refugee youth in sports and leisure field. Research design, data and methodology: Unlike quantitative research method which tries to quantify the association between variables, the qualitative research design that was selected by the current study as a main methodology attempts to take a look at the current and past literature contents closely so that obtained datasets may be explanatory and abundant. Results: After thorough analysis, it was evident that in all research where ethical perspectives were utilized, there was increased participation in sports and leisure activities by the refugee youths, and it may be divided into three categories: culturally sensitive, contextual, and reflective ethics. Conclusions: The current research concludes that ethical perspectives are required to research refugee youth's participatory behavior in sports and leisure and many more ethical factors are aspired to, and they must be thoroughly evaluated before, throughout, and following the study.

  • As service design becomes more common, various user research methods and tools such as cultural probes and contextual inquiry are being used to grasp the user's experience and needs. These methodologies have the advantage of being able to derive various insights through direct observation and investigation, but have disadvantages in that problems such as time and space constraints, cost occurrence, and delay in the service development process may occur. In addition, it is difficult to conduct actual observations, face-to-face investigations, and interviews due to COVID-19, which has recently spread rapidly around the world. Accordingly, prior to the digitization of cultural probes, I would like to suggest the direction of digital tools. First, after grasping the concept of service design and user research through literature research, the necessity of user research in service design was confirmed. After that, the necessity of digitalizing user research was confirmed by extracting functional elements that could be understood and digitalized about the cultural probes methodology, and analyzing previous studies using existing mobile-based survey techniques. Finally, we confirmed the direction of digital tools through user interviews through cultural probes.

  • Recently many research reports on effective use of mobile devices for museums to provide information on displayed artifacts providing individualized learning space, collaborative learning, and discovery learning, Such devices have many possibilities to support learning as a participatory media and social network. Mobile devices are used, however, limited for its usability and lack in providing expected learning experiences. It offers one-way interaction and they are often limited in providing customized services for different patrons to experience learning and entertainment. In this research, we have adopted user centered design approach to identify the needs and possible usage of PDA system in the museum. Research methods include contextual observation and inquiry with symbolic interactionism for qualitative research and its epistemology. We have developed conceptual model with scenario and storyboard method, and developed vertical prototype with Flash.

Emerging Trends in Cloud-Based E-Learning: A Systematic Review of Predictors, Security and Themes

  • Cloud-based e-learning (CBEL) represents a promising technological frontier. Existing literature has presented a diverse array of findings regarding the determinants that influence the adoption of CBEL. The primary objective of this study is to conduct an exhaustive examination of the available literature, aiming to determine the key predictors of CBEL utilization by employing the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology. A comprehensive review of 35 articles was undertaken, shedding light on the status of CBEL as an evolving field. Notably, there has been a discernible downturn in related research output during the COVID-19 pandemic, underscoring the temporal dynamics of this subject. It is noteworthy that a significant portion of this research has emanated from the Asian continent. Furthermore, the dominance of the technology acceptance model (TAM) in research frameworks is affirmed by our findings. Through a rigorous thematic analysis, our study identified five overarching themes, each encompassing a diverse range of sub-themes. These themes encompass 1) technological factors, 2) individual factors, 3) organizational factors, 4) environmental factors, and 5) security factors. This categorization provides a structured framework for understanding the multifaceted nature of CBEL adoption determinants. Our study serves as a compass, guiding future research endeavours in this domain. It underscores the imperative for further investigations utilizing diverse theoretical frameworks, contextual settings, research methodologies, and variables. This call for diversity and expansion in research efforts reflects the dynamic nature of CBEL and the evolving landscape of e-learning technologies.

Marketing Environment and governance mechanisms: Focusing on Manufacturer's Interfirm Benevolence

  • Purpose - Manufacturers in uncertain environments need to depend on governance mechanisms to reduce the inherent risk in these environments. However, few studies have examined which governance mechanisms a given manufacturers will develop in uncertain environments for managing the relationships with its vertical partner. This study explores how different governance mechanisms function under uncertain environmental circumstances. We also try to investigate the contextual effect of interfirm benevolence as moderator. Research design, data, and methodology - This research provide the conceptual framework of interfirm benevolence on which this research's propositions are predicted. The theoretical background for environmental uncertainty, governance mechanisms and interfirm benevolence will be discussed. Results - The expected results are as follows. Manufacturers in an uncertain environments rely on different governance mechanisms under conditions of high and low interfirm benevolence. In terms of role of interfirm benevolence, interfirm benevolence provides a better understanding of how governance mechanisms can develop in an uncertain supply markets. Conclusions - This research suggests several theoretical and practical implications between channel partners, particularly, this research offers that interfirm benevolence is a crucial competitive factor under environmental uncertainty situation. In future studies, it is necessary to investigate the effect of each governance mechanism structure on performance in an uncertain environment and various level of interfirm benevolence.

Brain Preference and Management : An Exploratory Reasoning from the Founders of Samsung and Hyundai Group, Lee and Chung (뇌활용성향과 기업경영 : 이병철회장과 정주영회장을 통한 탐험적 추론)

  • The Purpose of the current study is to identify the differences between Samsung and Hyundai Group and the causes why the differences occurred. The study focuses on the founders of the two group as a main source of the differences, especially brain preference of the two founders. Two steps were employed to perform the study. Firstly, the two founders' characteristics were analyzed by using archival research. It was implicitly hypothesized that Group founders' characteristics explained the differences of the two Groups. It was found that the founder of Samsung Group, the late president Lee emphasized rationality, analysis, and cause/effect relationship and low risk taking, suggesting that he had left-brain preference. In contrast. the late president Chung, the founder of Hyundai Group, emphasized intuition, wholeness, contextual meaning, and risk taking, showing that he had right-brain preference. Secondly, a comparison between the two groups was performed in terms of business and financial risk in corporate portfolio, and management system. It was found that Hyundai Group was pursuing higher risk than Samsung Group. And it was observed that Samsung Group put more emphasis on formality in decision making and systematic control, and less emphasis on risk taking than Hyundai Group. From the two step research relationship between brian preference and management was reasoned. Research implications and limitations were discussed at the end of the study.

Abusive Supervision: Domestic Research Trends and Future Research Directions: Focusing on Antecedents and Outcome Variables (비인격적 감독의 국내 연구 동향과 향후 방향성: 선행요인과 결과변수를 중심으로)

  • Purpose - This study reviewed domestic empirical studies on abusive supervision published from 2009 to 2020 and summarized the accumulated results. In particular, this study classified previous studies on abusive supervision as antecedents (supervisor characteristics, subordinate characteristics, and contextual factors) and outcome variables (cognition/awareness, affection/emotion, attitude, behavior, and others). Based on the results, this study suggested potential issues of previous studies and future directions for abusive supervision. In addition, this study proposed the academic and practical implications and limitations. Design/methodology/approach - The domestic studies on abusive supervision can be divided into antecedents and outcome variables, and each study was organized into the characteristics of the supervisor, subordinate, and situational characteristics, and the resultant variables were divided into cognition/awareness, affection/emotion, attitude, behavior, and others. Finding - Prior studies on abusive supervision had several limitations in obtaining clear results with individual characteristics or fragmented approaches at the organizational level. In the future, more comprehensive approaches will be needed. Research implications or Originality - This study will provide academic and practical implications for future research on abusive supervision by deepening an understanding of the negative consequences of abusive supervision.

The Value of Augmented Reality Virtual Try-On and Product Information Distribution in Amplifying Customer Satisfaction through Brand Experience

  • Purpose: This research analyzes consumer behavior by examining how augmented reality virtual try-on features and product information distribution affect consumer satisfaction through enhanced brand experience. The focus is on Maybelline's Shopee Official Account, as implementing these strategies can strengthen customer relationship management by improving the online shopping experience for cosmetic products. Research design, data and methodology: Employing a quantitative method, this study utilized a survey technique distributed to 100 respondents who are followers of Maybelline's Shopee Official Account. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), supported by SmartPLS. Results: This study provides evidence that augmented reality does not significantly affect brand experience or customer happiness. The research findings indicate that while this technology enables customers to test cosmetics digitally, its impact on customer satisfaction is minimal. Augmented reality does not appear to influence consumer behavior, as reflected in customer satisfaction. Conclusions: This research underscores the importance of understanding contextual factors and product characteristics when incorporating augmented reality in marketing to harness its potential benefits and influence consumer behavior. The study focused exclusively on the identified variables and Maybelline's cosmetic products available on the Shopee platform. Further research is required to explore more complex variables.
