Antecedents of Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease-of-Use (PEOU) in the Heuristic-Systematic Model: The Context of Online Diabetes Risk Test

  • E-Health services are seen as promising to healthcare promotion, but low usage by patients limits their effectiveness. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has shown to be explanatory in the adoption of e-Health services. As the use of e-Health for self-management grows, it is important to identify factors influencing perceived ease-of-use (PEOU) and usefulness (PU) to encourage acceptance. However, the selection of external variables in this context lacks a clear pattern. We applied the Heuristic-Systematic Model (HSM) with the aim of further explaining the external variables in TAM especially in the area of e-health, and selected three external variables: information quality, health information literacy, and social influence. Hence, our study combines the Heuristic-Systematic Model (HSM) and TAM to investigate the mechanism and external factors that promote individuals to act for their health benefits. A total of 198 responses were collected among people having completed an online diabetes risk test on the website of the Finnish Diabetes Association. This data was then analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Our study finds that heuristic cues like health information literacy and social influences impact PEOU, while systematic cues, especially information quality, positively influence PU. Also, higher PU is associated with increased intention to use e-Health services and engage in health-promoting actions, highlighting the importance of the systematic path in the e-Health context. Our theoretical contributions are twofold. First, we add to TAM research in the area of e-health by providing an explanation why heuristic cues link to PEOU while systematic cues link to PU. Second, our research is among very few applying HSM to e-health and finds that overall, the systematic path is more influential than the heuristic path. We also provide practical advice for healthcare providers to improve the impact of their e-health initiatives.

  • 컴퓨터 환경에서 한 가지 사건으로 상황이 특징 지워지기도 하지만, 일반적 상황 인식은 공간과 시간을 포함하는 다양한 사건들에 의해서 결정되어 진다. 물리적 공간과 상호 작용하는 실시간 센서 네트워크 상황 인식 서비스는 시간적 특성을 포함한다. 상황 인식 서비스 관계 설정 방법으로 실시간 상황 인식을 시공간적으로 취급하는 것이 요구된다. 본 논문은 상황 인식 모델에 시공간적 특성이 포함 되도록 하는 방법을 제안하고, 이를 개선된 Petri-Net을 이용하여 효과를 확인한다. 실시간 센서 네트워크 상황 인식을 위해 기본 Petri-Net, 패턴화된 Petri-Net 및 시공간 Petri-Net 모델 특성을 연구한다. 이 방법을 이용하여 새만금 온도 변화 탐지에 적용예를 보였다. 본 연구를 통해 시공간 Petri-Net을 사용한 응용 개발 뿐 만 아니라 시공간 상황 인식 모델링에 기여 할 것이다.

유비쿼터스 모바일 환경에서 개인화 서비스를 위한 상황인지 추론 시스템 (Context Awareness Reasoning System for Personalized Services in Ubiquitous Mobile Environments)

  • This paper proposed the context awareness reasoning system to provide the personalized services dynamically in a ubiquitous mobile environments. The proposed system is designed to provide the personalized services to mobile users and consists of the context aggregator and the knowledge manager. The context aggregator can collect information from networks through Open API Gateway as well as sensors in a various ubiquitous environment. And it can also extract the place types through the geocoding and the social address domain ontology. The knowledge manager is the core component to provide the personalized services, and consists of activity reasoner, user pattern learner and service recommender to provide the services predict by extracting the optimized service from user situations. Activity reasoner uses the ontology reasoning and user pattern learner learns with previous service usage history and contexts. And to design service recommender easy to flexibly apply in dynamic environments, service recommender recommends service in the only use of current accessible contexts. Finally, we evaluate the learner and recommender of proposed system by simulation.

Understanding "Authenticity" in Records Management: A Survey of Practitioners and Users

  • 전자문서 관리에 있어서 가장 중요한 개념중의 하나인 진본성 (Authenticity)에 관한 연구가 1995년이래 활발히 논의되어 필요성이 강조되어 왔으나, 진본성에 관한 정의와 개념적인 수준에 머무르는 반면, 구체적인 적용연구는 아직 미치지 못하고 있다. 본고는 진본성에 관한 이해를 이론적인 개념정립보다는 귀납적인 방법을 취하여 실제 문서를 생산, 이용, 검색, 관리, 보존 업무에 종사하는 문서관리자, 도서관사서, 아키비스트, 컴퓨터 시스템운영자, 프로그래머등을 중심으로 여론조사를 실시하여 그 결과를 보고하였다. 기록관리계의 실무자들이 이해하는 진본성은 업무활동에 밀접하게 관련되어 있고 진행중인 연구프로젝트의 연구결과와는 많이 차이가 있음을 보여준다. 본고는 진본성을 이해연구하는 새로운 방법론을 제시하고 기록학계 진행중인 연구프로젝트의 갭을 지적하고자 한다.

  • The use of Radio Frequency Identification technology (RFID) in medical context enables not only drug identification, but also a rapid and precise identification of patients, physicians, nurses or any other healthcare giver. The combination of RFID tag identification with structured and secured Internet of Things (IoT) solutions enables ubiquitous and easy access to medical related records, while providing control and security to all interactions. This paper defines a basic security architecture, easily deployable on mobile platforms, which would allow to establish and manage a medication prescription service in mobility context making use of electronic Personal Health Records. This security architecture is aimed to be used with a mobile e-health application (m-health) through a simple and intuitive interface, supported by RFID technology. This architecture, able to support secured and authenticated interactions, will enable an easy deployment of m-health applications. The special case of drug administration and ubiquitous medication control system, along with the corresponding Internet of Things context, is presented.

A Framework for Internet of Things (IoT) Data Management

  • The collection and manipulation of Internet of Things (IoT) data is increasing at a fast pace and its importance is recognized in every sector of our society. For efficient utilization of IoT data, the vast and varied IoT data needs to be reliable and meaningful. In this paper, we propose an IoT framework to realize this need. The IoT framework is based on a four layer IoT architecture onto which context aware computing technology is applied. If the collected IoT data is unreliable it cannot be used for its intended purpose and the whole service using the data must be abandoned. In this paper, we include techniques to remove uncertainty in the early stage of IoT data capture and collection resulting in reliable data. Since the data coming out of the various IoT devices have different formats, it is important to convert them into a standard format before further processing, We propose the RDF format to be the standard format for all IoT data. In addition, it is not feasible to process all captured Iot data from the sensor devices. In order to decide which data to process and understand, we propose to use contexts and reasoning based on these contexts. For reasoning, we propose to use standard AI and statistical techniques. We also propose an experiment environment that can be used to develop an IoT application to realize the IoT framework.

CASMAC(상황인식 센서 매체접근제어 프로토콜) : USN 환경을 위한 에너지 효율적 MAC 프로토콜 (CASMAC(Context Aware Sensor MAC Protocol) : An Energy Efficient MAC Protocol for Ubiquitous Sensor Network Environments)

  • 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 센서네트워크(USN, Ubiquitous Sensor Network) 환경을 위한 에너지 효율적 상황인 식 매체접근제어(MAC, Medium Access Control) 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안한 CASMAC(Context Aware Sensor MAC)은 상황정보를 이용하여 에너지 효율적으로 동작한다. CASMAC의 동작원리는 사전에 예측 가능한 상황을 시나리오로 작성하여 설정한 상황정보를 서버에 저장하며, 특정 센서 노드에서 이벤트가 발생할 경우, 그 이후부터 3회의 샘플 데이터를 서버로 전송한다. 서버는 전송 받은 샘플 데이터를 기 설정된 상황정보에 따라 처리한다. 만약 샘플 데이터가 이벤트로 처리되면, 서버는 해당 노드로 지속적인 데이터 전송 요청 신호를 보내 데이터를 전송 받고, 데이터 전송을 더이상 원하지 않으면 데이터 전송 중지 요청 신호를 보낸다. 또한 이벤트가 아니라고 처리할 경우에는, 무응답을 통해 샘플 데이터를 무효 처리한다. CASMAC의 성능 분석을 위해, 에너지 소모 테이블을 작성하여 에너지 소모 모델을 도출하였고, 모의 실험을 수행하였다. 그 결과 SMAC 대비 약 5.7 퍼센트의 에너지 소모 감소를 통한 성능 개선 효과를 얻었다.

B2B 거래환경에서 SNS 활용과 기업 브랜드 신뢰와의 관계 (The Relationship Between SNS and Firm's Brand Trust in B2B Context)

  • This paper aims to investigate empirically how brand trust can be formed from the customer-brand relationship through a direct use of firm's SNS in B2B context. The brand trust is fundamental elements to understanding of long-term relationship in a B2B context. To achieve the objectives of this study, data collection is through a personally administered questionnaire, and a total of 180 questionnaires was collected from the buyer or supplier who frequently visited partner's firm SNS. Excluding missing data, 120 usable data were analyzed. From the results, first, three SNS motivations (i.e. Information, social and entertainment) has a positive impact on the perceived value of SNS (i.e. perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment). Second, the perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment positively affect customer-brand relationship (brand intimacy, brand attachment). Third, the customer-brand relationship is positively related to brand trust. Implications, limitations and future research directions of the study were also discussed. These findings help managers in developing and implementing the relation between SNS use and a customer-brand relationship for long-term relationship in B2B.

영아의 기질과 누적 코티솔 수준의 관계: 어린이집 이용 여부에 따른 차이 (The Relation Between Temperament and Accumulated Cortisol Levels Among Toddlers Following Childcare Use)

  • Objective: This study aimed to examine the difference in toddlers' accumulated cortisol levels based on childcare experience in toddlerhood and the relationship between temperament and accumulated cortisol levels. Methods: Hair sample were collected for measure accumulated cortisol level in 87 toddlers. The Early Childhood Behavior Questionnaire (ECBQ) was used to measure temperament. Results: First, toddlers in childcare showed higher accumulated cortisol levels than in-home toddlers. Second, toddlers in childcare, exhibited a significant correlation between accumulated cortisol levels and surgency. Third, the accumulated cortisol levels of in-home toddlers exhibited a significant correlation with negative affect. In this research, there was significant range in the accumulated cortisol level according to childcare use, and the factors related to accumulated cortisol levels were different in each context. Conclusion: The results of this research support the "susceptibility to context of HPA axis" and imply a needed discussion about the effect of childcare experiences in toddlerhood.

통계 영역에서 대표값의 의미와 지도에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the Meaning of Average Values and Its Teaching Statistics Area)

  • As a measure of the center of data, arithmetical mean, median, mode, harmonic mean and geometric mean are generally used. Students must learn qualitative aspect of average values as well as its calculation for its adequate use. As the result of the learning, they should be able to select the appropriate average value according to the characteristic of data and problem context. For this object, the historical origin and visual interpretation of average values were introduced in this paper. And to help teaching several meanings of average values, several examples including context were suggested.
