The delay effect on reality in visual and haptic presentation (시-촉각 지연이 실감도에 미치는 영향)

  • Graphic and sounds are mainly used for presenting digital content as general. It has been reported that the reality of digital contents was improved by adding haptic factor to the contents of graphic and sounds. Therefore, various haptic system have recently been developed for implementing haptic sensation into digital contents. However, the delay of haptic display sometimes happens due to low hardware performance and causes to deteriorate reality of digital contents. The delay effect on reality has been important to be determined for presenting digital contents with haptic system. Therefore, this study is to find the effect on user's cognition of digital contents evoking both visual and haptic sensation. Eight university students performed 4 repetitive tasks of pushing cube under the two conditions of visual and haptic delay. The delay time of each condition were set 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 second. As the result, both haptic and visual delay were negatively influenced user's recognition while visual delay showed more dominant effect on user's recognition than haptic delay.

Mediating Effect of Need of Cognition on Learning Engagement in Distance Education (원격교육에서 학습참여에 대한 인지욕구의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify whether need of cognition have a mediating effect on media multitasking on learning engagement in online education. The subjects were 168 university students who had received online education for more than one semester, and data were collected using questionnaires on media multitasking, need of cognition, and learning engagement. For data analysis, correlation, hierarchical regression and Sobel test were performed using SPSS WIN 20.0 program. As a result of the study, there was a significant positive correlation between media multitasking and learning engagement (r=.52, p<.001), and a between need of cognition and learning engagement(r=.39, p<.001). Media multitasking had a significant effect on learning participation (β=.52, p<.001), and explanatory power was 27%. When need of cognition was input, the effect of media multitasking on learning engagement decreased (β=.52 ⟶ .44), so it was found that need of cognition had a partial mediating effect in the effect of media multitasking on learning engagement(Z=2.77). p<.01). Therefore, it is suggested to use online contents with learning to organizing a g a lesson syllabus for distance education, and to organize activities promoting media multitasking activities. Also, it is proposed to develop and apply various teaching strategies to promoting the need of cognition in the distance education.

  • As the main cause of car accidents is driver distraction, HUD utilization is important to boost drivers' front-observing. Recently, As HUD includes a variety of contents products have appeared on market, the possibility increases cognitive load while driving. The purpose of this study is that currently being used HUD contents how much affect drivers while driving. To investigate about it, the experiment is examined cognitive aspect with utilization aspect of different gender and illuminance environment. The study provides, in accordance with the internal and external illuminance, the visibility make a difference. The gap between the internal and external illuminance is higher, the visibility is better. Also, this study confirms that HUD's awareness of contents depends on driving information. Drivers concentrate more on higher related driving contents than lower ones.

Effects of Cognition Promoting Program on Cognitive Function, Depression and Quality of Life in Elderly (인지건강증진 프로그램이 노인의 인지기능, 우울 및 삶의 질에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of cognition promoting program on cognitive function, depression, and quality of life in elders. The participants were 1,251 who were above 60 years olds(averaging 76.9 years of age) without dementia. During 12 weeks they participated the cognitive health promoting program twice a week. The program consisted of ReBrain cognitive education and game program. Then the effects of treatment were compared using a paired t-test between pre-test and post-test. Cognitive function(t=-13.903, p<.001), depression(t=9.544, p<.001), and quality of life(t=-4.613, p<.001) in elderly were significantly different after 12-week. These findings indicate that an 12-week cognitive health promoting program could be an effective nursing intervention program to improve cognitive function, to decrease depression, and to promote quality of life in elders.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the subjective cognition-patterns of school aged children with borderline intelligence function to the School using Q Methodology. Q-sample was included 21 statements obtained from literatures and in-depth interviews with 4 specialist & 4 children with borderline intelligence function. P-sample was consisted through the consent of 18 children with borderline intelligence function and their parents. The 21 selected Q-statements were classified into a normal distribution using a 5 point scale. The collected data analyzed using a Quanl PC program. This study found out two subjective cognition-patterns of school aged children with borderline intelligence function to the school. Two types were 'participatory & dependent type', and 'onlooking & atrophic type'. This research finding can be used to make clear understanding on diverse voices of school aged children with borderline intelligence function to the School. And this result will attribute to mediations of educational welfare practice for maintaining a safe & healthy learning environment.

The Correlation Between Cognition on Cervical Cancer Screening Project of Women in Their 20s in Korea and Intention of Screening (한국 20대 여성의 자궁경부암 검진사업 인지와 수검의도 간의 관련성)

  • The purpose of the study is to survey and identify the degree of cognition of women in their 20s in Korea for cervical cancer screening which has been expanded to those aged 20 as the age for the screening since January 2016, and to reveal its correlation with intention of screening. The responses to the questionnaire of the survey conducted on total 353 females in C region were collected for the data from Nov 1, 2017 to Nov 10, 2017. The frequency analysis, chi-square test and logistic regression analysis were conducted by utilizing 353 copies of the questionnaire. According to the result, only 129(36.5%) answered that they recognized the current system of cervical cancer screening. Besides, the intention of screening in case of recognizing the cervical cancer screening project was 1.63 times higher than when it is not the case. Therefore, it is required to raise the participation of screening of women in their 20s by intensifying education and promotion on cervical cancer screening for women who are not yet in their 20s in linkage with health care projects at schools.

  • The Purpose of this paper was to get grasp the law consciousness of nurse in order to estimate a degree of law cognition, confidence consciousness toward law, consciousness of right and law-abiding spirit that nurses have. This paper made a survey of 566 nurses who were employed in general hospital. health center, school and health-clinic of chonju-city, Questionniare were composed 29 items through four dimension. The result of this survey showed that the role of university and hospital was insignificant for nurses in recognizing law. Consequently, not only hospital but also university ought to insert law in education curriculum or training course. Main contents of this paper are as follows; 1.   • The purpose of this study done by group-based application was to clarify the effect of cognitive health promotion program depending on group size. Data of 377 elderly who had a normal cognitive function was obtained through each health centers located in Incheon city. In the result, there was significant effects on cognition and quality of life, but no effect on depression. Also theres was no difference of the program's effect depending the group sizes. The result of this study would support the program of this study could be provided to more elderly by group-based application.

  • Purpose of this study was to improve students' negative perception of 'difficulties' in science & engineering. a survey tool consisting of four questionnaire for research had developed. For the experiment, this study used the gamified contents and used to 58 students of A University in Chuncheon. According to the results of the analysis, it was found that the gamified contents influenced a positive in improving the negative perception of science & engineering. Based on the results of this study, we will discuss the sustainability of knowledge acquisition along with the improvement of negative perception of science & engineering.
