Fun Factors of New Media Content for Kids (유아용 뉴미디어 콘텐츠의 재미 요소)

  • Media can be considered as a type of play for kids in this new media era. Researches on media content for kids have mainly focused on educational effect or specific features such as design, but a great deal of kids content is created for fun and enjoyment. This study analyzes fun factors of the most popular kids content on Youtube: Kongsuni and Friends, Carrie and Toys, and Pinkfong. The result shows that seven fun factors can be grouped into three categories; 1) Self-determination and independence are related to the media environment; 2) Sensuous vividness, empathy, and physical dynamic are related to the content; 3) Self-expression and social interaction are related to associated activities. This study extends our perspective on kids content by analyzing fun factors in the comprehensive process of media consumption.

The Effects of Screw Speeds and Moisture Contents on Soy Protein under Texturization Using a Single-screw Extruder (압출성형기의 스크류 회전속도와 원료수분함량이 대두단백질의 조직화에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of screw speeds and moisture contents on the physical properties of texturized extrudate from isolated soy protein were examined by using a single-screw extruder. The screw speeds and moisture contents tested were in the range of 122-334 rpm and 20-35%, respectively, and die temperature were $90-145^{\circ}C$. The texturization characteristics such as nitrogen solubility index, integrity index, chewiness, density, rehydration ratio, and lightness after rehydration were appeared to be influenced by screw speed and moisture content. As the screw speed increased and moisture content decreased, die temperature, nitrogen solubility index, integrity index, lightness before and after rehydration were increased, while chewiness, density, water content of final extrudate wee decreased. The rehydration rate was changed drastically at the feed moisture content of 30% in particular. As the moisture content decreased, the air cell size became large and its number was increased. The effects of interaction between screw speed and moisture content of raw materials on the extrudate characteristics were tested by the analysis of variance.

Empirical Study of Determinants Influencing Intention to Recommend Contents Based on Information System Success Model (콘텐츠 추천의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구: 정보시스템 성공모형을 중심으로)

  • With the proliferation of information technology communication and smart device, the environment where contents are produced and distributed is changing. People can use the contents quickly and easily, and the content industry is attracting attention and creating newly added value by converging with other industries. Accordingly, there is a need for content-related companies to understand the quality of content perceived by users in order to succeed in content, and to use it strategically. Therefore, this study aims to examine the relationship between content quality factors, user satisfaction, and recommendation intention through empirical analysis based on an IS success model. The analysis was conducted using smartPLS3.0 based on a total of 301 survey responses. As a result of the study, it was found that content usefulness, accessible system quality, convenient system quality, service provider trust, and interaction had a significant effect on user's satisfaction. Perceived privacy protection had a significant effect on user satisfaction and recommendation intention. Lastly, it was found that user satisfaction had a significant effect on recommendation intention. The results of this study are expected to provide useful information and therefore content companies can understand about the quality perceived by users.

  • The importance of emotional intelligence education in the development of children's augmented reality education content is overlooked. Therefore, in-depth research is needed to develop children's emotional intelligence. This study was conducted through theoretical consideration and case analysis. The proposal of this paper is that the augmented reality type for children aged 2 to 7 is suitable for indoor activities with marking recognition technology. To promote an understanding of emotions, a large screen is selected, and emoticon dolls or emoticon books are recommended for learning content. Children aged 7 to 11 are suitable for indoor activities of non-marker recognition technology, and can induce emotional control and emotional recognition through active manipulation. For the learning content, "3D art teaching content" and "Online Classic Musical" are recommended. Children after the age of 11 are suitable for non-marker recognition technology outdoor activities and improve each element of emotional intelligence through interaction with nature and society. For the learning content, 'Forest Play Activity through Art' and 'EQ Theater Play' are recommended. Through this paper, we intend to promote the development of children's augmented reality emotional intelligence education.

Seeding Rate and Planting Date Effects on Forage Performance and Quality of Spring Oats (연맥의 사초특성 및 품질에 미치는 파종량 및 파종기의 영향)

  • Understanding of the relationships between seeding rate and planting date is important for production of spring oats during the fall season. Therefore, this experiment was conducted to investigate seeding rate and planting date effects on forage performance and quality of spring oats(Avena sativa L.) at Suweon in 1997. The experiment was arranged in a split plot design with three replications. The main plots consisted of different seeding rates such as 150, 200, and 250kg/ha. The subplots consisted of different planting dates of spring oats such as 15, 22, and 29 August and 5 September. Dry matter content of oats was significantly decreased(P<0.01) as the planting date was delayed except the planting date of 5 September(24.8%). Dry matter content of forage oats planted on 15, 22, and 29 August was 23.0, 21.5, and 20.5%, respectively. A seeding $rate\;{\times}\;planting$ date interaction for dry matter content was highly significant(P<0.01). Crude protein content of oats was significantly increased(P<0.01) from 15.6 to 27.9% as the planting was delayed, while a significant seeding $rate\;{\times}\;planting$ date interaction for crude protein content of oats was observed. Acid detergent fiber(ADF) and neutral detergent fiber(NDF) contents of oats increased with early planting(P<0.01), but there was no significant difference among the seeding rates. ln vitro dry matter digestibility(IVDMD) of oats was significantly increased(P<0.01) as the seeding rate was increased together with late planting. Average dry matter yield of oats decreased(P<0.01) from 2,647 to 615kg/ha as the planting was delayed, but there was no significant difference among the seeding rates. A seeding $rate\;{\times}\;planting$ date interaction was observed for average dry matter yield of oats that the seeding rate increase in this experiment showed better at early planting dates. Crude protein yield of oats increased from 171 to 410kg/ha as the planting was delayed, and a significant increases(P<0.01) for crude protein yield was found among the seeding rates. ln vitro digestible dry matter(IVDDM) yield of oats decreased(P<0.01) as the planting was delayed, but there was no significant difference among the seeding rates. A significant seeding $rate\;{\times}\;planting$ date interaction for lVDDM of oats was found. The results of this study indicate that both the seeding rate of 200kg/ha and early planting before 29 August would be recommendable for forage yield and quality of oats in Korea.

Effect of Dietary Protein Levels and Addition of Alumincum Sulfate to Litter on Broiler Performance, Ammonia Production and Soluble Phosphorus Content of Litter (동일 축사내에서 Aluminum Sulfate 처리와 단백질 수준에 따른 육계의 생산성과 암모니아 가스 발생 및 깔짚내 수용성 P의 함량에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, broilers were raised up to 6 weeks of age in a single room to determine if different levels of dietary protein or addition of aluminum sulfate[alum, $Al_2$(SO$_4$)$_3$ㆍ14$H_2O$] to the litter affected growth performance, production of ammonia(NH$_3$) and soluble phosphorus(SP) content of the litter.The experimental treatments consisted of six treatments in a 2x3 factorial arrangements: T$_1$=23% protein + 0.2% alum to litter; T$_2$=21% protein + 0.2% alum to litter; T$_3$=19% protein + 0.2% alum to litter; T$_4$=23% protein + no alum; T$_{5}$=21% protein + no alum; T$_{6}$=19% protein + no alum. For broiler performance, there was no effect of alum addition to the litter, but the dietary protein levels significantly affected feed intake from days 22 to 42(P<0.05) and day 0 to 42(P< 0.05), weight gain during all periods(P<0.05 or 0.01), and feed:gain from day 0 to 21(P<0.05) and day 0 to 42(P<0.05). Alum addition to the litter did not affect body weight at 21 and 42 days, but dietary protein levels has a significant effect on it at both 21(P<0.0l) and 42 days(P<0.05). Studies on Factors to Increase Mold Inhibitor Effectiveness in Livestock Rations II. Effects of the Usage of a Mold Inhibitor in the Ration on the Nutritional Status and Performance of Chicks (배합사료에 대한 항곰팡이제의 효과적인 처리 방법과 사료내 영양소 보전 방법 II. 항곰팡이제의 이용이 사료 영양소 보전 및 병아리 성장에 미치는 요인)

  • The effect of mold inhibitor was determined in the commercial rations which had two different protein levels(18% and 12% ) and two different particle sizes(80% of the particles in the ration less than 1.19mm and 40% of the particles in the ration less than 1.1mm). After 40 days storage of the rations treated and not treated with the mold inhibitor the nutritional change of the experimental diets with 18% and 12% protein levels, the growth performance of chicks, and the weight of internal organs fed the 18% protein diet were observed as the criteria of this research The fat level and carotene content in the two diets with 18% and 12% protein level each were significantly (P<0.05) decreased when the diets were not treated by the mold inhibitor. Even if mold inhibitor was mixed in the diet, the fat content in the diet which had 40% of the particles in the ration less than 1.19mm tended to be decreased, especially, in the diet with a 12% protein level. The carotene content in the diet treated with mold inhibitor which had 40% of the particles in the ration less than 1.19mm also tended to be decreased in both diets (18% protein and 12% protein). Feed types$\times$particle size interaction was significant for the fat content (P<0.05) and for the carotene content (P<0.05). The amount of crude protein and ADF was not significantly (P>0.05) changed after 40 days storage. There was a significant decrease (P<0.05) in total body weight gain and total feed intake observed in chicks fed the untreated diet with 40% of the particles in the ration less than 1.19mm. Feed conversion was significantly (P<0.05) depressed in the chicks fed the untreated diet of both particle sizes. Particle size$\times$types of feed interaction in feed conversion was significant (P<0.05). Relative sizes of the liver, pancreas and spleen were not affected significantly (P>0.05) by the treatments.

Effects of lysine concentration of the diet on growth performance and meat quality in finishing pigs with high slaughter weights

  • The present study aimed to investigate the feasibility of using a diet low in lysine content as a means for increasing the intramuscular fat (IMF) content and pork muscle quality of finishing pigs. Thirty-two crossbred gilts and barrows weighing approximately 80 kg were fed either a low-lysine diet (0.60%; Low-lys) or a control diet (0.80% lysine; Med-lys) under a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement of treatments. The animals were slaughtered at a 132-kg body weight (BW) on average, followed by physicochemical analyses and sensory evaluation on Longissimus lumborum (LL) and Semitendinosus (ST) muscles. The average daily gain (ADG) did not differ between the Med-lys and Low-lys groups. However, ADG exhibited a tendency of sex × diet interaction (p = 0.09), being greater for barrows vs. gilts on the Low-lys diet (p < 0.05), but not on the Med-lys diet. Backfat thickness adjusted for 132-kg BW also exhibited the interaction; it was greater for the Low-lys vs. Med-lys group within gilts but tended to be less for the former in barrows (p = 0.08). The IMF content was not influenced by the diet or sex in either LL or ST. The a*, b*, and Warner-Bratzler Shear Force values and fatty acid composition were influenced by the sex or diet in either or both of the muscles, but the treatment effects did not apparently influence the meat quality. Sensory scores for the flavor, juiciness, tenderness, umami, and palatability of cooked muscle were not influenced by the diet in either LL or ST. When the LL and ST data were pooled, scores for those sensory attributes were positively correlated with the IMF content, which was associated with overall greater IMF contents and greater sensory scores for ST vs. LL. Collectively, the Low-lysine diet seemingly elicited the intended lysine deficiency in gilts as indicated by the increased BFT due to the diet. However, the Low-lys diet was not effective for increasing the IMF deposition or eating quality of the pork muscle of finishing pigs slaughtered at high BW probably because its lysine content was not low enough to elicit either outcome.

  • The development of the technology of the 21st century, wireless Internet technology development in smart environments, was rapidly settled. In such an environment, the user is faced with many smart devices and smart content. This study is the analysis of the smart environment and smart devices, and user-to-user cognitive out about the effects reported. Cognitive effects observed behavior, technology, and user-centered system design, and plays a very important role to play in educating the users. And theoretical consideration about the UX (User eXperience) and UXD (User eXperience Design), by case analysis on the technical aspects of 'effective' visual aspect of interoperation aspects (interaction), and the cognitive effects of UXD (User eXperience Design) examined. As a result, on the visual aspects of the user experience based on the design that can be used to know, and be sound or through interaction with the user of the machine-to-machine interaction (and interaction) that must be provided, such as location-based or speech recognition technology will help you through the convenience of the user. Through this research, the smart environment and helping act of understanding, effective UXD (User eXperience Design) to take advantage of to help.

OBSERVATIONS OF STAR FORMATION INDUCED BY GALAXY-GALAXY AND GALAXY-INTERGALACTIC MEDIUM INTERACTIONS WITH AKARI

  • Nearby spiral galaxies M101 and M81 are considered to have undergone a galaxy-galaxy interaction. M101 has experienced HI gas infall due to the interaction. With AKARI far-infrared (IR) photometric observations, we found regions with enhanced star forming activity, which are spatially close to regions affected by the interaction. In addition, the relation between the star formation rate (SFR) and the gas content for such regions shows a significant difference from typical spiral arm regions. We discuss possible explanations for star formation processes on a kiloparsec scale and the association with interaction-triggered star formation. We also observed the compact group of galaxies Stephan's Quintet (SQ) with the AKARI Far-infrared Surveyor (FIS). The SQ shows diffuse intergalactic medium (IGM) due to multiple collisions between the member galaxies and the IGM. The intruder galaxy NGC 7318b is currently colliding with the IGM and causes a large-scale shock. The 160 micron image clearly shows the structure along the shock ridge as seen in warm molecular hydrogen line emission and X-ray emission. The far-IR emission from the shocked region comes from the luminous [CII]$158{\mu}m$ line and cold dust (~ 20 K) that coexist with molecular hydrogen gas. Survival of dust grains is indispensable to form molecular hydrogen gas within the collision age (~ 5 Myr). At the stage of the dusty IGM environment, [CII] and $H_2$ lines rather than X-ray emission are powerful cooling channels to release the collision energy.
