A Study on the Potential and Limitation of Pre-producing Dramas through Social Analysis -focusing on a jtbc drama - (소셜 분석을 통한 사전제작 드라마의 가능성과 한계에 관한 연구 -jtbc <맨투맨>을 중심으로-)

  • This paper examines the relevance of pre-production and storytelling in big data analysis and, focusing on JTBC's Man to Man series, looks at how the drama's storytelling should be structured. In this study, we conducted text mining on blogs focused on a particular topic to read the viewer's thoughts on pre-produced dramas and on 67 blogs written about Pre-Production Dramas from 2016.12.15 to 2017.12.15. Also, we conducted sentiment analysis about the Man to Man series, which is not only a pre-production drama, but also has storytelling issues. The blog text extraction and text mining were analyzed using the OutWit Hub and the R, and the tools.provided by social metrics were used to make sentiment analyses of the larger data. Sentiment analysis revealed that the viewers of the Man to Man series did not agree with the romance between Kim Sul-woo and Cha Do-ha, due to the lack of reality in the female characters. Therefore, it was concluded that it is crucial to increase the reality of the characters in order to increase the audience's empathy. These studies will continue to be necessary, because they will form the basis for digitally driven storytelling studies and will provide valuable materials for conducting predictions and instructions in the cultural content industry.

  • Nowadays, UI(User Interface)'s main target area is getting larger from user's convenience oriented interface, to user's satisfaction oriented interface. In this study, we attempted 'Storytelling User Interface' for fulfillment of user's satisfaction. We analyzed UI in games, distinguished and clarified its effectiveness that conveys main contents and special features to its audience. The most important element in storytelling UI is 'Inherent Drama'. This was proved through the game analysis with Blizzard's 'Diablo', Sierra's 'Home world', Eden Games' 'Test Drive Unlimited', EA's 'Black And White', and Sony Entertainment's 'Eye Of Judgment'. And we divided storytelling elements into 3 pieces, Mood Design - that shows story's background, or traits, Natural Control - for user's feeling as a hero in the content, and Flow Directing - using animation, visual design and sound, etc. Via these elements, we can make the best use of background, icon, animation, every structures and flow in games. Finally, we embodied three pieces for putting in practice for effective improving interface.

The Development of the Convergence Education Program based on the Creation of Scientific and Cultural Content (과학문화콘텐츠 구성을 기반으로 한 융합형 교육 프로그램의 개발 방안)

  • Recently there are growing needs and demand to enhance 'Unity of knowledge' as the concept of "Creating new value through integration and convergence" is developing rapidly in many different areas in the society. This also has significant implication to education. Especially, it requires paradigm shift in terms of required capabilities and qualifications for the students with science major. To accommodate this trend, Natural Sciences and Engineering's College has been increasing convergence education which focus on cultivating creative and cooperative learning capabilities as well as acquiring fundamental knowledge of individual majors. However, convergence education developed and implemented by Sciences college or liberal education so far has been mechanical combination of knowledge from different academic fields - not effectively integrated and interdisciplinary education. Given this situation, this research is to develop and propose a "convergence education program based on the development of scientific and cultural contents" as an education tool to enhance capabilities to apply and re-create integrated knowledge as well as acquire and learn existing knowledge. Education program developed in this research aims to achieve two different and sequential capabilities. First is to understand 'Science and Technology' and 'Cultural Archetype' which would be essential and useful to create cultural contents. Second is to develop capabilities to convert this understanding into cultural contents - a storytelling capability. This education program is differentiated in that it defines cultural contents as a medium to converge and integrate science and technology and humanities. By leveraging the concept of cultural content and storytelling, this education program would be able to overcome restrictions of existing interdisciplinary approach. Also, this program would encourage students to try in-depth research and new applications, and develop logical and creative thinking.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the direction of communication design through in-depth interviews on the topic of gender equality, which is an active theme of social issue happening worldwide, and to suggest a direction to provide better social issue communication direction. In order to do so, firstly, I researched case studies and investigated the characteristics of gender magazines such as If, Ferm and Womankind. Secondly, I conducted an empirical study of in-depth interviews to identify the emotional adjectives by women and men by different age groups from gender equality storytelling magazine experience. As a result, I was able to grasp two points necessary. First of all, for the gender equality content messages closely related to everyday stories level down the barrier and become easier to empathize with. Second of all, the more complex the social issues are, the more sustainable and credible if the content developed steadily and contingently. This study is meaningful in that it suggested a series of directions for communicating gender equality issues. Future research should complement the suggested directions for gender equality communication design and contribute to guiding further directions.

  • Recently, the introduction of the elementary and middle school software education essential courses in 2018, the emergence of educational solutions, and the need for digital content for software education rather than simple coding. In addition, in the case of current coding education, it is necessary to study how to induce interest in elementary, middle and high school students. In this study, we included the interactive (UX / UI) function using MR(Mixed Reality) and induced interest in coding education, and it was possible to cultivate logical thinking by applying storytelling coding rather than injection education. Suggested way. As a result of research, elementary, middle, and high school students easily proposed logical thinking education beyond the existing injection education method using mixed reality(MR) technology, and will break away from the injection coding education which is a problem of the school and school.

A Conceptual Study on Transmedia (트랜스미디어에 대한 개념적 고찰)

  • This study recognizes the problem of terminology surrounding the concept of transmedia and attempts to arrange and examine the concept by applying the syntagmes theory of linguistics. In transmedia, the prefix 'trans' means transversal, transformation, and transcendence. This versatility of the word transmedia itself provides a starting point for recognizing the concept of transmedia as an incomplete syntagmes with the verbal paradigm of transversal, transformation and transcendence. Depending on who is the subject of media content, such as media companies, creators, and users, syntagmes of transmedia is linked to terms such as transmedia franchise, transmedia storytelling, and prosumer. The purposes of the three subjects in the discourse of transmedia are different, using IP, expanding the story world, and enjoying the work. However, the common desires of 'repeat', 'extension', 'secure' and 'connection' are found in the purpose of three subjects. If terms like transmedia franchise, transmedia storytelling, and prosumer are 'parols' of the transmedia concept, then repetition, extension, securing and linking are the 'langues' of the transmedia concept.

  • Web development and digital technology enable users not only to consume contents but also to produce and share it through using various media. Thus, since personal needs for contents are increased, the interest in environment and technology for creating digital contents is growing. Because of existing digital contents technology such as writing tool or digital storyboard have focused on the individual creation, it is hard to induce participation and collaboration of other users and sharing and reusing contents. Therefore, we suggest a new form of collaborate digital storytelling using the concept of the collective intelligence through contest. Most of all, we develop writing tool and storyboard tool in order to facilitate participants to produce online contents. Also, distinguished from previous contest, this contest considers not only content output but also collaborative process for making it.

  • 본 논문에서는 스토리텔링 기법을 이용하여 유아들이 일상생활 속의 환경에 대한 내면화 과정을 가상의 캐릭터를 통하여 스토리속에 전달하고자 하는 학습내용을 넣어 유아들로 하여금 스토리를 따라 가면서 기억, 연상작용을 일으켜 학습이 이루어지도록 설계하였다. 스토리를 통해 단순 지식 전달이 아닌 지식을 이해하고 습득하는 단계로 진행되며, 또한 스토리를 통해 대리 경험을 할 수 있게 하여 미래에 발생하게 될 상황에 대처하는 능력을 자연스럽게 키울 수 있도록 돕는데 그 목적이 있다.

A Study on Storytelling of Yeongweal-palkyung Applied by Halo Effect of King Danjong' Sorrowful Story (단종애사(端宗哀史)의 후광효과를 적용한 영월팔경의 스토리탤링 전략)

  • With the awareness that Sinyeongwol Sipgyeong(ten scenic spots in Yeongwol) were designed too hastily and only for PR purposes after the change in the tourism environment, this paper indicates that most tourism and culture sources in Yeongwol are related to King Danjong, the sixth king of the Joseon Dynasty. This study proposes a 'Storytelling Plan' for the landscape content called 'Cultural Landscapes - Yeongwol Palgyeong(eight scenic spots in Yeongwol)' after reviewing types and content of Yeongwol Palgyeong through the halo effect of the well-known sad history of King Danjong and the cultural value of Yeongwol. The significance of the unity of the historic site and neighboring landscape is focused on by investigating the anaphoric relations between cultural landscape texts('Yeongwol Palgyeong') and historic content(the sad history of King Danjong). For this, the cultural lnddscape of Yeongwol has been framed and layered to make spatial texts. To emphasize the 'Telling' as well as the 'Story,' interesting episodes have been reviewed to discover a motive. To diversify the 'Telling' methods, absorptive landscape factors have been classified as 'Place,' 'Object' and 'Visual Point.' In addition the storytelling of Yeongwol Palgyeong was examined in consideration of the story and background of 'Yeongwol Palgyeong - Sad Story of King Danjong' and the interaction of a variety of cultural content by suggesting micro-content such as infotainment and edutainment as absorptive landscape factors. In order to make the storytelling plan available in practice as an alternative plan for Yeongwol Tourism, a visual point should be properly set to make the landscape look sufficiently dynamic. In addition, real landscape routes and narration scenarios should be prepared as well. Professional landscape interpreters who are well informed of the natural features of Yeongwol and the history of King Danjong should be brought into the project, and Internet and digital technology-based strategies should be developed.

A Study on the Effectiveness of Video Advertisements Generated by Social Media Users: Centered on Video Content Type and Information Framework (소셜미디어 사용자가 만드는 동영상 광고효과에 관한 연구: 동영상 콘텐츠 유형 및 정보 프레임워크 중심으로)

  • Based on the information framework and regulatory focus theory, this paper verifies the impact on the advertising effect when the matching effect forms between the video advertising content type (Information Type, Entertainment Type) and the information framework (Promotional, Prevention) and the regulatory focus (Promotion Orientation, Prevention Orientation) in social media. In order to verify, after selecting of the experimental subjects and finishing the prior investigation of the experimental operation, four video advertisements and formal experiments were performed. The experimental results showed that first, the content type affects the advertising effect of the video and the information framework; when the information video matches the preventive information framework, it will have a more obvious positive effect on the advertising effect; when the entertainment video matches the promotion information framework, it will have a more obvious positive effect on the advertising effect. Second, with the two matches of video content type and information framework, the entertainment-oriented video has a more obvious positive effect for the information-oriented video audience; the above results enrich user created content research and improve the quality and communication efficiency of video in social media.
